With Varka's Day 1 banner revenue ranking among the top Nod-Krai characters in version 6.4, version 6.5 brings the final puzzle piece of the Lunar-Crystallize meta — Linnea.
Add two new maps, three rerun banners, a Fontaine Chronicled Wish, a free Jahoda from the flagship event, and free-to-play players can expect to earn roughly 77 Intertwined Fates (~12,000+ free Primogems) — making this a particularly generous patch.
This article covers everything you need to know about version 6.5: release schedule, banner lineup, Linnea highlights, new maps, endgame updates, and pull strategy.

Version 6.5 Key Dates
Version 6.5 Banner Lineup
Version 6.5 features four 5-star characters across its event wish banners. The Phase 1 4-star lineup is confirmed as Noelle, Illuga, and Aino. This version also introduces a Fontaine Chronicled Wish in Phase 2, featuring Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne along with their signature weapons — a major opportunity for players who missed key Fontaine characters.
Phase 1 Character Analysis
- Linnea (New) — The centerpiece of this version. Dubbed the "Geo version of Escoffier," she fills the long-missing support slot in Lunar-Crystallize team compositions. For Zibai owners, she is essentially a must-pull. For a detailed breakdown of Linnea's kit, builds, and team comps, check out the Linnea Build Guide.
- Chasca (Rerun) — A 5-star Anemo Bow DPS known for high single-target damage through Charged Attacks, with excellent returns from Constellations and her signature weapon. Her overworld flight exploration is T0-tier, and while C0 damage is moderate, she begins to scale significantly from C2 onward.
Phase 2 Character Analysis
Lauma (Rerun) — A 5-star Dendro Catalyst character and one of Nod-Krai's finest supports. She enables Lunar-Bloom reactions, reduces Dendro and Hydro resistance, and provides powerful off-field Dendro damage.
Her healing is unlocked at C1, significantly boosting her investment value, and her synergy with Nefer is best-in-class.
- Nefer (Rerun) — A 5-star Dendro Catalyst hypercarry built around Lunar-Bloom. Pulling her alongside Lauma instantly completes a Lunar-Bloom team, making this a highly efficient banner for players targeting that composition.
Fontaine Chronicled Wish
Version 6.5 also features a Fontaine Chronicled Wish banner in Phase 2. Featured 5-star characters include Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne, along with their signature weapons.
This is a great opportunity for players who missed key Fontaine characters, but be mindful of your Primogem budget — this banner competes directly with the Phase 2 reruns of Lauma and Nefer.
New Character: Linnea Overview
Linnea, the "Augur of Wonders," is a Nod-Krai naturalist serving as an advisor to the Adventurers' Guild. According to her official profile, the world is a place of endless possibility to Linnea, one that fits no field guide and defies every classification, which is precisely why she never stops traveling.
She has already been mentioned in voice lines for Aino and Ineffa.
Kit Summary
Linnea's kit revolves around her companion "Lumi." Tapping on her Elemental Skill summons Lumi in Super Power Form, which continuously deals off-field AoE Geo DMG. If Moondrifts are nearby, Lumi additionally deals AoE Geo DMG that counts as Lunar-Crystallize reaction DMG.
Tapping on Elemental Skill or Normal Attack consecutively after the initial summon causes Lumi to attack in Ultimate Power Form — dealing one powerful instance of AoE Geo DMG treated as Lunar-Crystallize DMG — before switching to Standard Power Form.
Her Elemental Burst summons Lumi in Super Power Form and restores HP to the whole party, then continues to heal the active character for a period of time. If Lumi is already on the field, the burst refreshes its duration without changing its current form.
Key features at a glance:
- Lunar-Crystallize Enabler: Enables her party to trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions
- Geo RES Shred: While Lumi is on the field, nearby enemies' Geo RES is decreased
- Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam (Constellation): Further enhances Elemental Skill and Burst, with additional Geo RES shred
- Overworld Utility: Outside of combat, Charged Attack becomes a net for capturing creatures, and Lumi can destroy forgeable ore deposits
For Constellations, if your budget is limited, C2 offers the best return on investment. After triggering the relevant constellation effect, Hydro and Geo characters gain CRIT DMG +40% — fundamentally transforming team DPS output.
Signature Weapon: Golden Frostbound Oath
Linnea's signature 5-star Bow, Golden Frostbound Oath, is featured on the Phase 1 weapon banner. At Refinement Rank 1:
- DEF increased by 16%
- When Elemental Skill or Lunar-Crystallize attacks hit enemies, gain "Frost Fae's Favor" for 6s: Geo DMG +40%, Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG +40%
- While active, if Moondrifts are nearby, all other party members gain "Frost Fae's Mischief": Geo DMG +20%, Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG +20%
- This effect can trigger even when the equipping character is off-field
For F2P players, a Favonius Warbow remains a serviceable alternative.

Story Quest: Alcyon Chapter Act 1
Linnea comes with her own Story Quest — Alcyon Chapter: Act I "Up! Toward Homecoming Wings" — permanently available after the Version 6.5 update.
Requires Adventure Rank 40 and completion of Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IV. A Quick Start function is available until April 28, 2026 for players who have reached AR 28 and completed Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III.
New Maps in 6.5
Version 6.5 adds two brand-new explorable regions to Mondstadt: Windrest Peak and the Temple of Space. This shapes up to be the most exploration-rich patch since 2024 — another reminder of why Genshin consistently tops best mobile RPG lists with its world-building ambition.
While 2025 was somewhat light on exploration (only three new zones across versions 5.5, 5.8, and 6.0), 2026 has delivered three consecutive major map additions from 6.3 through 6.5.
Windrest Peak
A Mondstadt region that has been referenced in-game since the early days of Genshin Impact, but never actually explorable. Six years after launch, Mondstadt is finally receiving a brand-new explorable zone.
Once you've reached Adventure Rank 20 and completed the Archon Quest Prologue Act III, a Teleport Waypoint near Brightcrown Mountains will automatically unlock.
- New World Boss: Watcher: Fallen Vigil — drops Linnea's exclusive ascension materials
- New World Quests: "A Long Day in the Mountains" series and "Winds Beneath the Tower of Silence"
- New wildlife: Windvigil Angler Gull, Camelhorn Deer, Etherwing Moth
- New Local Legends and challenges: Churldric and "Prince Mahavasudeva-Yava"
- Excellent Primogem farming opportunity — new region exploration is a major source of free pulls

Temple of Space
The second new map is the Temple of Space, a standalone region that has generated extraordinary hype — notably, it is depicted on the game's login screen, making Version 6.5 feel like a full-circle moment. Access can be unlocked by progressing through the World Quest "A Long Day in the Mountains."
The Temple of Space features a unique Memory Core system. As you explore, you'll discover Mnemonic Clusters formed by Memory Factors, and find scattered Memory Factors in treasure chests.
Offering these to the Memory Core grants blessings from the interstice and memories of civilization — a structured progression system with its own rewards track (reaching Memory Core Level 10 unlocks the "Empty Temple: Overflowing Memories" namecard).
- Connected to the lore of Asmoday — the Shade of Space created by the Primordial One
- Multi-layered map design emphasizing vertical exploration
- New Fishing Points and Radiant Spincrystals available in the new areas

New Enemies
Watcher: Fallen Vigil — Located at Windrest Peak. A former Watcher dwelling in the heavens that can monitor and counter elemental attacks. In combat, it enters the "Supreme Overseer" state, tracking Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo DMG instances.
After recording 3 hits of any element, it records that element as a monitored target. After completing two elemental monitoring cycles, it prepares "Phenomena's Delirium," summoning Active or Inert Elemental Stars based on its records. Break all Elemental Stars to interrupt the attack.
- Domain Keeper — A shadow construct born from the overflow of the primordial being. In combat, it enters the "Deluded Eye" state and tracks elemental DMG instances. Upon reaching 3 hits of any element, it transforms into the corresponding elemental form, applying that element to itself and gaining increased RES in that element.

Imaginarium Theater
New season opens May 1, 2026.
Events and Free Rewards
Version 6.5 features several events, with the flagship being "Where Waves Meet the Reef" — a trading event set in Nod-Krai. Completing this event rewards players with a free Jahoda, along with weapon ascension materials, Mora, and furnishings.
Other events include Surveying and Mapping Studies (April 10–20), Rapid Capture (May 6–18), and Ley Line Overflow for double talent/weapon materials.
Primogem Sources and Pull Planning
Free-to-play players can expect to collect approximately 77 Intertwined Fates (around 12,000+ Primogems) over the course of Version 6.5. The addition of two new exploration zones makes this a comparatively generous patch. Welkin Moon players can expect roughly 97 wishes.
Pull Priority by Situation
The emergence of a new meta is expected to bring significant shifts to the Genshin Impact tier list at the top end. Use the recommendations below to find the optimal plan for your roster.
| Your Situation | Recommendation |
| Own Zibai | Linnea is essential (C1 recommended minimum) |
| Building a Lunar-Bloom team | Pull Lauma + Nefer together in Phase 2 |

Looking Ahead: Version 6.6 and Beyond
Version 6.6 is shaping up to be the core update for the Hexerei meta. According to recent Nicole leaks, the 5-star Pyro character is expected to be Varka's ideal partner and will debut alongside a teased Durin rerun. There is also a possibility that Lohen joins the roster.
Version 6.7 is rumored to feature the debut of Sandrone (the Marionette) alongside a Columbina rerun, a combination many are calling a "dual-Harbinger" patch.
Further down the road, the full Mare Jivari map is expected to unlock starting from version 7.0. Following the conclusion of the Snezhnaya chapter, rumors of a next major phase, commonly referred to as "Genshin 2," are also circulating in the community.
Conclusion
Version 6.5 features the debut of Linnea, the essential linchpin for the Lunar-Crystallize meta. She is a must-pull for Zibai players, while those targeting Lunar-Bloom should capitalize on the dual Lauma and Nefer reruns. Additionally, Phase 2 introduces a Chronicled Wish banner for missing Fontaine units.
Beyond the banners, explore two expansive new maps: Windrest Peak and the Temple of Space. The update also brings a new World Boss, Linnea’s Story Quest, and the "Where Waves Meet the Reef" event, which rewards a free Jahoda.

FAQ
When Does Version 6.5 Release?
Version 6.5 launched on April 8, 2026, following a 5-hour maintenance starting at 06:00 (UTC+8). The version runs until May 19, 2026.
Is Linnea Worth Pulling as a Free-to-Play Player?
At C0, all of her core support functions — Lunar-Crystallize enabling, Geo RES shred, healing, and off-field damage — are fully operational. A Favonius Warbow is sufficient for her weapon slot. That said, her performance jumps significantly at C1 and above, so at least one Constellation is recommended if resources allow.
Should I Pull Linnea Even if I Don't Have Zibai?
Even without Zibai, Linnea offers meaningful upgrades for Geo DPS like Navia or Noelle — the "Noelle Revival Team" has been generating real buzz in the community. That said, her peak performance does require Zibai. If Lunar-Crystallize meta isn't your focus, skipping 6.5 and waiting for Nicole in 6.6 is a perfectly reasonable call.
Do I Need Both Lauma and Nefer?
For Lunar-Bloom teams, pulling both is ideal due to the exceptional synergy between Lauma (Support/Sub-DPS) and Nefer (Main Carry). If you must choose one, Lauma offers broader utility with healing unlocked at C1. Timing is also perfect, as the May 16 Spiral Abyss grants a 75% Lunar-Bloom DMG bonus in the second half.
What About The Fontaine Chronicled Wish?
The Fontaine Chronicled Wish runs during Phase 2 of Version 6.5 and features Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne along with their signature weapons. It's a great catch-up banner, but be careful with Primogem allocation — pulling here competes directly with the Phase 2 reruns of Lauma and Nefer.
Is the Temple of Space Time-Limited Content?
The Temple of Space is permanent content. It can be accessed by progressing through the World Quest "A Long Day in the Mountains" or by reaching the area through Windrest Peak exploration. It features the Memory Core offering system with structured rewards including a unique namecard at Level 10.
How Many Free Primogems Can I Earn in Version 6.5?
F2P players can earn roughly 77 wishes (~12,000 Primogems) from new maps, events like "Where Waves Meet the Reef," and combat resets. Welkin Moon subscribers can expect around 97 wishes. Since a guaranteed 5-star requires 180 pulls (28,800 Primogems), plan your savings accordingly.
Is There a Free Character in This Version?
Yes — completing the "Where Waves Meet the Reef" event rewards you with the 4-star character Jahoda for free, along with weapon ascension materials, Mora, and furnishings. Don't miss this event if you haven't obtained Jahoda yet.
