The main benchmark is efficiency in earning 36 stars on Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss. Performance in Imaginarium Theater and flexibility across multiple teams are also considered. Each character is rated in an optimal team with a realistic level of investment.
In Version 7.1, Vesna joins the top tier of main DPS characters even at C0, while Vodyanitsa supports both Stellar Swirl and Hydro–Cryo teams. Bennett remains powerful, but his C0 rating has been adjusted to S due to his limited buff radius and competition from newer supports.
C0 Character Tier List
The same character can feel dramatically different at C0 and C6. This tier list rates every character at C0 with a practical 4-star weapon or a 5-star weapon that does not depend heavily on refinements.
Vesna's core on-field Stellar Swirl kit is complete at C0, while Vodyanitsa earns an S rating because she combines healing, RES reduction, and ATK support in a single slot at C0.
C6 Character Tier List
The C6 tier list measures how much each character's role and team contribution improve after unlocking all six Constellations. Vesna remains SS because her personal damage rises enormously.
Vodyanitsa is rated as an SS support because her C6 greatly increases the entire team's damage in Stellar Swirl, Hydro, and Cryo teams. Yumemizuki Mizuki also moves to SS as a main DPS because higher Constellations greatly improve her reaction damage and overall gameplay.

- S Tier (T1): These characters deliver top-class performance in a specific role. They have some team-building or gameplay restrictions, but can approach SS-level results when their conditions are met.
- A+ Tier: These characters sit between S and A. They can deal top-tier damage with the right team and enemy lineup, but depend more heavily on specific Elemental Reactions or dedicated teams.
- A Tier (T2): These are practical characters who can comfortably clear Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss. However, they may require more investment than higher-ranked alternatives or excel only in specific situations.
- B Tier (T3): They are usable with sufficient investment, but many alternatives deliver more consistent results for the same resources. They still have value for early- to mid-game accounts or as counters to specific mechanics.
- C Tier (T4): These characters offer relatively low value for the investment in the current meta. Many need higher Constellations or powerful dedicated gear before their role becomes clear.
- D Tier (T5): Even with heavy investment, these characters have low practical priority. Unless they are a personal favorite or part of a specific themed team, there is little reason to build them first.

An On-Field DPS Who Triggers Stellar Swirl Herself
Genshin Impact Vesna is an Anemo Sword DPS who converts Cryo Swirls triggered by the team into Stellar Swirl. Her Elemental Skill summons a sword spirit and grants Sword Energy.
She then continues her rotation with Normal Attacks before consuming Sword Energy with a special Elemental Skill. Attacks used near a Stellar Storm count as Stellar Swirl reaction damage, giving her far greater synergy with Cryo teammates than a typical Anemo DPS.
Her reaction conversion and full core rotation are available at C0, placing her among the best C0 main DPS characters in Version 7.1. Because she needs substantial field time, she works better with off-field supports who can sustain her full attack sequence than with quick-swap teams.
Vesna–Vodyanitsa–Odette Core
A representative team is Vesna + Vodyanitsa + Odette + Faruzan. Vodyanitsa provides healing, Anemo RES reduction, and Stellar Swirl amplification; Odette adds reaction damage; and Faruzan raises the damage ceiling of the Anemo DPS.
The team still functions without Vodyanitsa: combinations such as Traveler (Cryo), Qiqi, or Diona with Sucrose can also trigger Stellar Swirl.
Build Priorities and Considerations
Vesna reaches her damage ceiling only when the team provides both consistent Cryo application and enough support for her extended field time.
Using only standard Swirl without a Cryo teammate sacrifices much of her key Passive Talent, and her efficiency also falls against enemies with high Cryo or Anemo RES. Stabilize her Elemental Skill and on-field rotation first, then build CRIT, ATK, and the necessary Energy Recharge.

Vesna is the most direct power upgrade for players who want to start a new Stellar Swirl team in Version 7.1.
- Recommended: Accounts that own Odette or already have a strong roster of Cryo and Anemo characters, and players who need a top on-field DPS who works immediately at C0. Her ability to fly outside combat also makes her excellent for exploration.
- Lower Priority: Players who already have a high-Constellation Yumemizuki Mizuki or another fully built top-tier main DPS and cannot spare resources for a Cryo-based Stellar Swirl team. Vesna is powerful, but unlike a universal support, she does not fit every team.
Tip: If your Primogems are limited, secure Vesna C0 first, then compare how much Vodyanitsa C0 would improve the team before investing in Vesna's signature weapon or Constellations. Vodyanitsa is not mandatory, but she combines healing, RES reduction, and Stellar Swirl amplification in one slot.

Vodyanitsa's Elemental Skill continuously heals the active character, reduces enemies' Hydro and Cryo RES, and increases the active character's ATK. In teams that create a Stellar Storm, she also reduces Anemo RES and increases Stellar Swirl reaction damage, making her close to a dedicated partner for Vesna.
She also fits into Hydro–Cryo teams such as Skirk + Vodyanitsa + Furina + Escoffier. Her personal damage is low, and her Hydro application can interfere with some reaction sequences, so she is best viewed as a highly efficient specialist for Stellar Swirl and Freeze teams rather than a universal replacement in every lineup.

Stellar Swirl Team Expansion
Rather than adding another new reaction, Version 7.1 completes the practical team archetype for Stellar Swirl, which debuted in Version 7.0. Vesna converts Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl and builds reaction damage while on field. Vodyanitsa strengthens Stellar Storm, reduces Anemo RES, and increases reaction damage. This also raises the value of existing Stellar Swirl enablers such as Odette, Faruzan, Traveler (Cryo), and Qiqi.
New Combat and Exploration Content
- Acts III and IV of Archon Quest Chapter VII unlock, with Ronova, Ruler of Death, appearing as a new Weekly Boss.
- Complete the Archon Quest to receive 620 Primogems and character development materials.
- A special commission from the Tsaritsa's court secretary reveals more about Snezhnaya's government and royal court.
- Outside combat, Vesna can fly through the air, while Vodyanitsa can take the form of a water spirit to move quickly across both water and land, improving exploration convenience.
Events and Free Rewards
- The Moonchase Festival returns to Liyue for the first time in five years. Complete three minigames to earn rewards, including a new 4-star Sword.
- The update also features a Snezhnaya snowball event, a Natlan tournament prediction event, and an autumn-themed update for Miliastra Wonderland.
- For the sixth anniversary, completing the latest Archon Quest lets you invite one eligible limited 5-star character for free.
- Anniversary rewards also include one standard 5-star character selector, 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, and more.
Story
The Traveler meets the Tsaritsa face-to-face in Snezhnaya and draws closer to the truth behind her plan to collect the Gnoses. At the same time, Ronova, Ruler of Death, blocks Snezhnaya's advance and ignites an all-out war. Rheindott, now fused with Naberius, Ruler of Life, also appears, making the conflict even more complex.
Version 7.1's main story centers on the decisive battle against Ronova. Time-limited bonus rewards have claim deadlines, so check the in-game notices for the requirements tied to the latest Archon Quest and the anniversary limited 5-star selector.
