Version 6.0 brought back the Moonchanter of the Frostmoon Scions — Lauma. This 5-Star Dendro Catalyst is the core support Bloom teams have been waiting for.
Her core mechanic converts all Bloom reactions on the field into Moon-Bloom, unlocking critical hit bonuses for the entire reaction chain. She simultaneously reduces Dendro and Hydro RES, converts Elemental Mastery into damage, and deals off-field sub-DPS damage — all from a single team slot.
Whether you're running Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or a pure Moon-Bloom lineup centered around Aino, Lauma is the ultimate upgrade for your Dendro team. This guide covers skill breakdowns, optimal builds, team recommendations, and a materials preview — everything in one place.

Lauma Character Overview
Lauma's Core Mechanics Breakdown
Lauma's core revolves around one passive: as long as she is in the party, all Bloom reactions triggered by teammates are automatically converted into Moon-Bloom (Lunar-Bloom).
Moon-Bloom is not a simple damage swap — it grants Bloom reactions two critical upgrades: First, the damage can now CRIT (previously only possible with Nahida C2); Second, damage scales linearly with Lauma's Elemental Mastery — every 1 EM increases Moon-Bloom's base damage by 0.0175%, up to a cap of 14%. Every point of EM stacked on Lauma directly amplifies the team's reaction damage.
Additionally, her Elemental Skill reduces both Dendro RES and Hydro RES on hit, benefiting all Dendro and Hydro damage dealt by the whole team. One character handling CRIT enabling, EM amplification, and dual RES shred — that is her core value.
Lauma Strengths & Weaknesses
Lauma Quick Build Reference
Below are two core equipment builds; a more detailed comparative analysis will follow in the weapon/artifact chapters.
Sub-DPS & Buff Build (Recommended)
Best for players with her signature weapon or a high-refinement 5-star weapon, focused on maximizing Moon-Bloom damage output.
Pure Support Build
Best for players without her signature weapon, or when a teammate already covers artifact RES shred. Prioritizes team-wide Bloom buffs and Energy Recharge cycles.
Lauma Talent Breakdown & Upgrade Priority
Talent Priority
Normal Attack
Lauma performs up to 3 consecutive Dendro Normal Attacks, but as a support you will almost never use them. The standard rotation is: swap in, use Skill → Burst → swap out immediately. Normal Attacks have no place in this window.
Conclusion: Prioritize resources on Skill and Burst. Level Normal Attack to 6 only; max is unnecessary.
Elemental Skill
This is the absolute core of Lauma's kit. Understanding this skill means understanding 80% of how she works.
Tap vs Hold — two completely different uses:
- Tap: Summons a Frostgrove Sanctuary, dealing Dendro AoE damage to nearby enemies and reducing their Dendro RES and Hydro RES by 25% each for 10 seconds on hit. The Sanctuary follows the active character and auto-attacks every 2 seconds, providing stable off-field Dendro application.
- Hold (Key!): Consumes all current Verdant Dew stacks to deal a burst of Moon-Bloom damage, gaining 1 stack of Moon Song per Verdant Dew consumed, up to 3 stacks.
How does Verdant Dew accumulate?
Each time a Moon-Bloom reaction is triggered on the field, the whole team gains 1 stack of Verdant Dew (2.5s cooldown). The more frequently teammates trigger Dendro/Hydro reactions, the faster Verdant Dew accumulates.
💡 Tip: Accumulate 2–3 Verdant Dew stacks before using Hold for maximum damage. When stacks are low, prioritize Tap to maintain the Frostgrove Sanctuary's RES shred and Dendro application. Don't waste the cooldown.
Elemental Burst
The Burst's core function is generating Pale Hymn stacks — the "ammunition" of her damage buff system.
Mechanic Flow:
- Casting the Burst immediately grants 18 Pale Hymn stacks.
- If Moon Song stacks are held at this point, each stack converts into 6 additional Pale Hymn stacks (3 Moon Song → +18, totaling up to 36 stacks).
- Each time a teammate triggers Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Moon-Bloom damage, 1 Pale Hymn stack is consumed, and that reaction gains bonus damage based on Lauma's EM.
- If multiple enemies are hit simultaneously, 1 stack is consumed per enemy — stacks drain very quickly in multi-enemy scenarios.
⚠️ Note: Pale Hymn stacks are a limited resource. In multi-enemy content they drain far faster than in single-target. Stacks running out quickly in multi-wave Spiral Abyss is normal — don't delay your rotation waiting for a full stack count.
💡 Rotation Tip: Standard rotation: Hold Skill to accumulate Moon Song → Burst to convert Moon Song into more Pale Hymn → swap to teammates to harvest reaction damage. Energy Recharge target is ~140% to guarantee Burst availability each cycle.
Passive Talents
P1 — Moon Song Awakening
For 20 seconds after using the Elemental Skill, provides different buffs based on the party's Moon Seal level:
- Nascent Gleam: Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon can CRIT, with a fixed 15% CRIT Rate and 100% CRIT DMG.
- Ascendant Gleam: Moon-Bloom CRIT Rate +10% and CRIT DMG +20%.
This is Lauma's most critical talent, without exception. Enabling CRIT for Bloom-type reactions is a game-changing upgrade — previously only achievable with Nahida C2.
P2 — Thread of Life
For 20 seconds after using the Skill or Burst, each Moon-Bloom triggered by a teammate heals the active character for HP equal to 500% of Lauma's EM (1.9s cooldown). This passive does not activate at C0 — C1 is required for full functionality.
P3 — EM Conversion
Every 1 EM increases Skill damage by 0.04% (cap 32%) and reduces sprint Stamina consumption (cap 20%). Both caps are reached at 800 EM. Lauma's standard build easily exceeds 800 EM, so this passive is essentially unlocked for free.
Lauma Weapon Recommendations
Lauma's build logic is crystal clear: virtually every one of her abilities scales directly with Elemental Mastery — Moon-Bloom damage, Skill damage bonus, and Pale Hymn buff magnitude all increase with EM.
Weapon selection comes down to one question: how much EM does this weapon provide, and do its secondary effects actually benefit Lauma? ATK weapons are completely irrelevant. Healing Bonus and Shield Strength are also useless — exclude them immediately.
The only secondary stat worth extra attention is Energy Recharge. Lauma's Burst has a 15s cooldown; the ER target is ~140%. Insufficient ER disrupts the stability of the Pale Hymn cycle.
Best Artifacts for Lauma
Lauma's artifact selection is not one-size-fits-all. The single deciding factor is: how many Nordeklai characters are in the team?
- Only Lauma (Nascent Gleam): Deepwood Memories is more practical — Dendro RES shred benefits the entire team's Dendro damage.
- Second Nordeklai in team (Ascendant Gleam): Silken Moon's Serenade reaches full effectiveness; Moon-Bloom reaction damage buff increases significantly.
- Teammate already using Deepwood Memories: Lauma can switch to Silken Moon's Serenade or Gilded Dreams — no need to stack RES shred redundantly.
Artifact Set Ranking
Main Stat Recommendations
Timepiece and Goblet are Elemental Mastery regardless of build — no debate here. The Circlet is the only branching point: if you've already reached 800+ EM through weapon and artifact substats, switching to a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet can noticeably boost Moon-Bloom's direct damage.
Substat Priority
⚠️ Warning: ATK substats are completely useless on Lauma. Discard any artifact where ATK% is a primary substat, even if other lines look reasonable.
Lauma Constellation Guide
Detailed Explanation of Constellation Effects
For most players, the priority is: C0 → C1 → C2. C3–C5 can be skipped.
- C0: Core support functionality is complete — Moon-Bloom enabling, dual RES shred, and Pale Hymn buffing are all available. 36-starring Spiral Abyss is achievable. The vast majority of players can stop here.
- C1: Unlocks healing, allowing you to remove a dedicated healer and add a second DPS or support. Indirect DPS increase by freeing a team slot. Recommended for players with extra resources.
- C2: Highest ROI constellation — Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon all receive a major boost. The target constellation for players chasing maximum output. C3–C5 can be skipped.
- C6: Only for dedicated Lauma enthusiasts. Skipping C3–C5 straight to C6 is not resource-efficient — think carefully before committing.
Best Lauma Team Comps
Lauma's team formula: Lauma + Hydro character + Reaction trigger + Flex. The Hydro unit creates Bloom cores; Lauma upgrades Bloom into Moon-Bloom and enables CRIT; the reaction trigger determines whether the team runs Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or pure Bloom.
Team 1 — Nefer Moon-Bloom (Best Overall)
Lauma and Nefer are the strongest dual-core combination for the Moon-Bloom system in the current version. Nefer is purpose-built for Moon-Bloom; Lauma's RES shred and Pale Hymn buff directly amplify every Moon-Bloom Nefer triggers. Nahida provides stable Dendro coverage and EM buffs; Kokomi ensures survivability and additional Hydro application.
This team operates on three layers of damage: Nefer's direct Moon-Bloom hits, Pale Hymn's EM-based reaction bonus, and AoE Bloom core explosions. The no-brainer first choice for players who own Nefer.
Team 2 — Alhaitham Hyperbloom (Highest Ceiling · Single Target)
Lauma's most direct value in a Hyperbloom team: enabling CRIT on Hyperbloom — something previously impossible. Alhaitham's dense Dendro output + Xingqiu/Furina Hydro continuously generates Bloom cores; Kuki Shinobu triggers Hyperbloom off-field, and every instance gains Lauma's Pale Hymn bonus.
Single-target Bosses are where this team truly shines. Recommended as the primary team for Spiral Abyss Boss floors.
Team 3 — Nilou Bloom Specialist (Specialized · AoE)
Nilou transforms Bloom cores into Bountiful Cores; Lauma enables Bountiful Core explosions to CRIT. The interaction is multiplicative, not additive. Exceptional AoE damage against enemy groups — the pivotal upgrade from "strong" to "top-tier" for Nilou teams.
Team 4 — F2P Hyperbloom (Budget-Friendly)
Lauma Ascension & Talent Materials
Leveling Lauma to 90 and maxing all three talents to 10-10-10 requires approximately 2,500 Original Resin, equivalent to roughly 14–21 days of natural regeneration. Stock up in advance.
Ascension Materials (Level 1 → 90)
💡 Stockpile Priority: Moonfall Silver requires 168 pieces and refreshes every 48 hours — the most time-consuming material. Aim to collect 10–20 per day as you pass by. Nagadus Emerald can be converted from other elemental gemstones at the Alchemy Bench.
Talent Materials (Single Talent 1 → 10)
📅 Domain Schedule: "City of No Light" opens on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. Use Condensed Resin on open days to maximize efficiency.
⚠️ Weekly Boss Note: Eroded Scale-Feather drops from "Primal Fire's Corrosive Overlord" in Natlan — once per week only. All three talents need 18 pieces total, meaning a minimum of 18 weeks. Use Dream Solvents to convert other drops from the same Boss.
🏁 Leveling Priority: Push to Level 90 first, then: Skill → Burst → Normal Attack. 8/9/9 is sufficient for Spiral Abyss. Save Crown of Insight for after you're satisfied with the character.
Is Lauma Worth Pulling?
If you have any Bloom team — no matter how strong or weak — Lauma elevates it by a full tier. If Dendro/Hydro reactions have never been your main strategy, skipping is a fair call.
- I have Nefer — should I pull? Absolutely. They are the dedicated dual-core of the Moon-Bloom system. Having Nefer without Lauma means you're only at half potential.
- I have Nilou but not Nefer — is it worth it? Yes. Lauma enables Bountiful Cores to CRIT — the pivotal jump from "strong" to "top-tier" for Nilou teams.
- I run Hyperbloom with Alhaitham or Raiden — should I pull? Recommended. Hyperbloom previously had no CRIT potential. Lauma adds a multiplier to the entire damage chain.
- My only Dendro is Nahida, no dedicated Bloom characters — can she work? Yes. Nahida + Lauma dual-Dendro Hyperbloom or Burgeon is a proven system — no Nefer or Nilou needed.
- I'm low on Primogems — should I pull? Depends. If Bloom is your primary system, Lauma is worth prioritizing. If Dendro is just a backup, wait for a rerun.
- My main teams are Geo/Cryo/Electro — no Bloom teams — should I pull? Skip. Every buff Lauma provides is tied to Dendro/Hydro reactions. Save your Primogems.
Conclusion
Lauma's build philosophy is among the clearest of any 5-star character: stack EM, hit the ER target, pick the right artifact set — get those three things right and you're at 90% of her potential. The build floor is accessible, but the ceiling runs deep.
For weapons: prioritize her signature; without it, Blackmarrow Lantern R5 is fully sufficient. For artifacts: choose between Silken Moon's Serenade and Deepwood Memories based on your team's Moon Seal level. Three EM main stats across the board.
For teams: she's not picky. Have Nefer? Run Moon-Bloom. Have Nilou? Run CRIT Bountiful Cores. Have Alhaitham? Run CRIT Hyperbloom. Have none of the above? F2P Hyperbloom still hits 36 stars. She makes every Bloom team stronger.
❓ FAQ about Lauma
How much Elemental Mastery does Lauma need?
Target a minimum of 800 EM to maximize her Elemental Skill damage bonus and Lunar-Bloom scaling. Most builds reach this naturally with an EM weapon and full EM main stats on artifacts.
Can Lauma replace Nahida in Bloom teams?
They serve different roles. Nahida offers consistent Dendro application and EM sharing, while Lauma brings Bloom CRIT enabling and RES shred. Running both together is the strongest option for Bloom teams.
Is Lauma worth pulling without her signature weapon?
Yes. Blackmarrow Lantern at R5 reaches around 90% of her signature weapon's performance. Lauma is one of the most F2P-friendly 5-stars in terms of weapon options.
