Pearl first appeared in the Version 2.3 Stoneheart trailer before returning as an NPC on Planarcadia. After years of being part of the story but unavailable to pull, Honkai: Star Rail Pearl is now expected to become playable in Version 4.6.
This guide walks through Pearl’s expected release date, leaked full kit, predicted best Light Cones and Relics, possible team compositions, Eidolon value, pre-farm materials, and Stellar Jade requirements, so you can prepare her build before her banner opens.
If you plan to pull Robin · Summeretto and Aventurine · Waveflair in Version 4.5 and still want Pearl in Version 4.6, planning your Oneiric Shard budget early can help.
Honkai: Star Rail top-up on GamsGo can cost less than the in-app price, which may leave more room in your budget for Pearl and her signature Light Cone.

One note on sourcing: Pearl's rarity, element, and Path are official. Her kit, Light Cone, and Relic data come from beta leaks, which can still change before release, and her banner date remains an estimate. We update this guide as new information lands.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Character Overview
Here is what we know about Pearl so far, drawn from official drip marketing, in-game lore, and beta data.
Pearl’s EN voice actor is Cat Protano, who also voices Misha in Honkai: Star Rail and Skirk in Genshin Impact.
Pearl’s design centers on pearl and ocean motifs. Her long beige hair fades into sea green, while a shell-shaped headpiece, blue-and-pink fin-like ears, and water-sleeve outer layers give her silhouette the appearance of flowing waves.
White and pale blue dominate the outfit, with dark blue panels, soft pink ribbons, floral ornaments, and pearl-like details adding contrast. Visible seams on her fingers and legs keep her Intellitron identity clear beneath the softer marine design.

Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Kit
Early leaks called Pearl a shielder with a Path-switching gimmick. The beta data says otherwise. She is a DEF-scaling healer who buffs the whole team, and the more Elation characters she has beside her, the more she gives back.

Deep Learning and the Aesthetic Archetype
Her Ultimate marks one ally as the Aesthetic Archetype and puts them into Deep Learning, which upgrades Pearl's Basic ATK for the next three uses. Everything else in her kit feeds that window:
✦ Certified Banger doubles as mitigation: Each point converts into 200 Repellency, which blocks 60% of incoming damage for an ally. It never expires and caps at 50 points.
✦ The Elation count scales everything: With 1, 2, or 3 Elation characters her Ultimate advances the Archetype by 10%, 15%, or 30%. With 4, that ally gets a full extra turn.
✦ Enhanced Basic ATK is the payoff: During Deep Learning it hits all enemies, heals the team twice over, and adds 60% Ice Elation DMG calculated from the Archetype's stats rather than her own.
All values are from beta data and can still change before release.
Skill Breakdown
Basic ATK
Trace the Severed Stream deals 90% of DEF to one enemy.
In Deep Learning it becomes Render the Great Wave, or Imagenate the Starry Night if the Archetype is an Elation character. Both hit all enemies for 100% of DEF and heal the team.
Skill
Relume Life's Light grants 15 Certified Banger and heals the team for 12% of DEF plus 240, with a second heal on the lowest-HP ally.
It costs a Skill Point, so most rotations lean on the enhanced Basic ATK instead.
Ultimate
Appraise Soul's Ground costs 180 Energy, grants 20 Certified Banger, and applies Deep Learning to one ally.
With four Elation characters, that ally also takes an extra turn and opens it with 30 Certified Banger and 60 Punchline.
Talent
Grow Grace from Grit turns Certified Banger into Repellency at 200 per point, blocking 60% of damage taken by an ally.
Allies at 50% HP or below also take 30% less damage, which covers the gap between heals.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Eidolons
Pearl's Eidolons split into two groups. E1 and E2 push her team buffs higher, while E4 and E6 sharpen her mitigation and the Deep Learning window.
E1 is the one worth noting. At four Elation characters it hands the team 80% of Pearl's Elation, and since her Traces already convert DEF into Elation, that number climbs with the same stat she was building anyway.
✦ The Four-Elation RequirementAlmost every number in her kit scales with how many Elation characters are on the team, and the biggest rewards, the extra turn and the 40% Elation DMG, only unlock at four. Outside a full Elation squad, a large part of what she offers stays switched off.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Light Cones and Relics
Signature Light Cone
Colors for Tomorrow is built entirely around her. The flat DEF boost feeds Panoptic Vision, the healing rides on the same stat, and the enemy vulnerability scales with how many Elation characters sit beside her.
Recommended Main Stats
New 4.6 Cavern Relics
This is the set built for her. Pearl holds Certified Banger permanently, so the 10-point condition stays active from the first turn onward, and the CRIT DMG applies to the whole team rather than herself.
The second 4.6 set arrives alongside it but is not for Pearl. Everything it offers keys off ATK, and her healing, damage, and Elation all scale from DEF instead.
Planar Ornaments
- Sprightly Vonwacq: Energy Regen +5%, and at 120 SPD her action advances 40% on entering battle. The default choice, since her Ultimate costs 180 Energy.
- Lushaka, the Sunken Seas: Energy Regen +5%, and if Pearl is not first in the lineup, the first character gains 12% ATK. Worth considering when your carry scales on ATK.
- Broken Keel: Effect RES +10%, and at 30% Effect RES all allies gain 10% CRIT DMG. A safe fallback that also pairs with her Effect RES trace.
Trace Priority
Basic ATK first, then Skill, Ultimate, and Talent last. That order looks odd for a healer, but the enhanced Basic ATK during Deep Learning is where her healing and her Elation DMG both come from.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Weapon
Pearl fights with a brush. Her reveal art shows her holding an oversized calligraphy brush, which matches her role as an artwork investment specialist.
It also fits how she plays. A brush suits a character who paints healing and buffs onto the team rather than one who deals damage herself.

Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Best Team Comps
Pearl is a 5-star Ice character on the Path of Elation, and the beta data confirms her as a DEF-scaling healer. Elation has never had a sustain of its own Path, so that is the slot she fills.
Here is the team we would build around her:
Silver Wolf Lv. 999 is the damage. Everything else in the team exists to give her more Elation Skill windows and more Punchline behind each one.
Yao Guang generates the windows. Her Ultimate calls in extra Aha Instants, and every Aha Instant runs the whole team's Elation Skills back to back.
Evanescia fills the fourth Elation seat and pays for herself. She converts the Certified Banger from each window into Energy, so her own Ultimate comes back fast.
Pearl takes the sustain slot. Right now that job goes to Huohuo or the Trailblazer, and since neither is an Elation character, the team only gets three Elation Skills per window instead of four.
Being Elation herself is what unlocks the ceiling. At four Elation characters her Ultimate gives the Aesthetic Archetype a full extra turn, and her Elation Skill jumps from 20% to 40% bonus Elation DMG for the whole team.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Ascension Materials
Pearl's exact material list drops with the beta build, and we will update this section once it does. Her element and Path already narrow most of it down though:

- Trace materials: Every Elation character so far uses The Fluffy Hand-drawn Storyboard series, so Pearl may well use it too. If you built Evanescia or the Elation Trailblazer, you already know the farming route.
- Enemy drops: Planarcadia characters have been using the Whimsy Wax series, farmed from Imagenae enemies across the planet. Pearl could well be on the same series, since she comes from Planarcadia too.
- Stagnant Shadow: This is the one to wait on. Ice characters draw from an Ice ascension material, but which node it comes from depends on the version, and 4.x may add a new one.
✦ Safe To Pre-FarmCredits and Tracks of Destiny are always useful. The Whimsy Wax series is a reasonable bet too, since Planarcadia characters have been sharing it. We will update this section with the full list once it goes live.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Banner Schedule and Pull Advice
Upcoming Banner Timeline
Honkai: Star Rail has been running a six-week patch cycle, with 4.5 as the short one at five weeks. If that pattern holds, the dates below are roughly where things land, though nothing is confirmed until the Special Program:
Within each version, Phase 1 runs the first three weeks and Phase 2 takes the second three. For HSR 4.6 that puts Pearl's window at roughly September 29 to October 20, though the Special Program is what locks it in, and that usually airs about a week before the patch.
Stellar Jade Planning
Here is how we would handle the run-up to her banner:
✦ During 4.5
Aventurine · Waveflair is the one to think about, since he shows up in Pearl team leaks more than anyone else. If you want both, the second half of 4.5 and the first half of 4.6 fall back to back with very little income in between.
✦ Before Pulling
Her kit is out, and it is built entirely around Elation. If you do not run three other Elation characters, most of her scaling stays inactive, and a general-purpose healer will serve you better.
✦ Budget To Set Aside
Hard pity on a limited banner is 90 Warps, and losing the 50/50 pushes that to 180. At 160 Stellar Jade per Warp, a guaranteed copy means holding around 28,800 Jade before her banner opens.
✦ Looking Ahead To 4.7
Nihilux has been floated for 4.7, and if the Elation support rumors around that patch hold up, this archetype gets another piece before the year is out. Worth factoring in if you are going all in on Elation.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Lore and Backstory
Pearl was named long before she was seen. Back in Version 1.6, Herta mentioned an IPC executive who had asked to run Simulated Universe research on the Mechanical Emperor's Wars and the Borderstar Trade War.
That executive was Pearl, a P45 senior manager in the IPC's Strategic Investment Department and one of the Ten Stonehearts. Her Cornerstone is the Pearl of Appraisal, carrying a portion of Diamond's Preservation power.
Her request also gave her away. Screwllum had mentioned Pearl to Herta before, and that connection was enough for Herta to work out what Pearl really is: an Intellitron, a machine lifeform from Planet Screwllum.
We first saw her in the Version 2.3 trailer Stoneheart's Oath Ring: Both Ends of the Scale. She presided over the hearing on Aventurine's punishment and voted to give him another chance, reasoning that there should be more justice in his life.
Jade has explained why Diamond chose her for that seat. Pearl decides on facts and calculations, not sentiment, and her own introduction frames everything as a "calculated outcome."
Her portfolio is art, and on Planarcadia that makes her powerful. She is the planet's current CEO and chairman of Pearluxe Corp, and after Irontomb was defeated she steered the next stage of the Worlds Reborn Initiative toward artistic innovation.
Then came the Phantasmoon Games. Pearl held several of the eight masks and judged that the Aeonic games were drifting off course. When her field operative Lyndon Skott was murdered alongside thirty-three Synwish Syndicate members, she brought in the detective Ashveil to keep order.

Silver Wolf came to her next, wanting a mask. Pearl saw through her instantly, exposed her Aether Editing, and took one of her data slices before agreeing to trade. Few characters have caught a Punklorde hacker that cleanly.
Where that leads in 4.6 is anyone's guess. The imagenesis lessons Silver Wolf offered her have not been shown on screen yet, and an Intellitron who values calculation above all else learning to create from nothing would be a natural direction for the arc to take.
Whether the story goes there at all is speculation on our part. Either way, her banner should come with plenty of Planarcadia story to go with it.
✦ Lore Meets KitHer Cornerstone is the Pearl of Appraisal, and appraisal is exactly what her kit does. Her Ultimate marks one ally as the Aesthetic Archetype, then borrows that character's stats to calculate her own Elation DMG, valuing a teammate the way she values a painting.
Honkai: Star Rail Pearl Character Relationships
Pearl rarely treats anyone as a simple ally or enemy. Her relationships are usually built around information, negotiation, and whether the other person can contribute to her plans.
- Silver Wolf
Pearl became interested in Silver Wolf Lv. 999 after her confrontation with Screwllum. She monitored Silver Wolf's banned accounts and deliberately left clues that could lead the hacker to her.
When they finally met, Pearl did not trust the Stellaron Hunters, but she was willing to negotiate. Their exchange ended with Pearl taking one of Silver Wolf's data slices, turning an attempted deception into a more equal deal. - Herta and Screwllum
Pearl contacted Herta to request Simulated Universe research into two major conflicts involving machine civilization. Herta already knew of her through Screwllum, although the exact history between Pearl and Screwllum has not yet been revealed. - Diamond and the Ten Stonehearts
Diamond granted Pearl a Cornerstone and placed her among the Ten Stonehearts, giving her independent authority within the Strategic Investment Department. Pearl later presided over Aventurine's judgment alongside Jade, Topaz, and the other Stonehearts. - Ashveil
A hire, not a friend. Pearl asked Ashveil to help keep the Phantasmoon Games under control and prevent a repeat of the Bloodstained Games tragedy. He refused her for a long time before finally agreeing. - Skott
Lyndon Skott was a field operative in her department, assigned to guide the Astral Express crew around Planarcadia. He was killed alongside thirty-three Synwish Syndicate members while negotiating for a mask.
His death is what moved her to act, and it is the reason she pressed Ashveil to step into the Games. It remains one of the few moments where Pearl responds to something other than a calculation. - Jade, Aventurine and Topaz
The Stonehearts closest to her all say the same two things: Pearl has a real eye for art, and she does not think about the future. At Aventurine's trial she still voted in his favor, on the grounds that there should be more justice in his life.
Pearl makes four. Topaz, Aventurine, and Jade came before her, and 4.6 adds the fourth playable member of the Ten Stonehearts.
Of all these threads, the mask deal is the one to watch. Silver Wolf offered to teach Pearl imagenesis as part of it, and that is the tightest narrative link Pearl has to any playable unit, which makes their in-combat pairing worth thinking about early.
Summary
Pearl is a 5-star Ice character on the Path of Elation, arriving in Version 4.6 around late September. The beta data confirms a DEF-scaling healer built specifically for Elation teams.
If you already run three other Elation characters, she is the sustain that archetype has been missing. If you do not, most of her scaling stays inactive and a general healer serves you better.
We are still tracking her materials and final numbers, and this guide gets updated as those land. Grab the latest Honkai: Star Rail redeem codes while you save, and check the Honkai: Star Rail tier list to see where she might slot in.

Honkai: Star Rail Pearl FAQ
When Does Pearl Release?
Version 4.6 Phase 1, likely around September 29 if the patch cycle holds. The Special Program usually airs about a week before a version goes live, and that is when the exact date gets confirmed.
Is Pearl a Healer or a Shielder?
A healer. Early leaks called her a shielder, but the beta data shows pure healing scaling off DEF. Her Talent does convert Certified Banger into Repellency, which blocks 60% of incoming damage, so she covers both jobs without ever putting up a shield.
Who Should I Pair With Pearl?
Silver Wolf Lv. 999, Evanescia, and Yao Guang. Her Ultimate only grants the extra turn when four Elation characters are on the team, so a full Elation squad is what unlocks her ceiling.
