WuWa Phrolova Role Overview

Phrolova is a Havoc-attribute DPS Resonator. Her strengths lie in an extremely smooth damage curve and a stackable passive that grants up to 100% Crit DMG bonus.

In my experience, she performs exceptionally well in open-world exploration, Whimpering Wastes, and Tower of Adversity, where prolonged combat is key.

She also has a low skill floor and responsive controls, making her a Resonator that noticeably elevates the combat experience. I especially recommend newer Rovers pull for her.

Here is her basic profile:

Is Phrolova Worth Pulling in WuWa 3.3?

Yes. Phrolova is a top-tier Havoc DPS who performs well in both Whimpering Wastes and Tower of Adversity. I recommend newer and returning Rovers pull for her as a priority.

For veteran Rovers who already have Cantarella, Qiuyuan, or her signature weapon Lethean Elegy, she is a must pull. If you don't have any of these, I suggest pulling for the new 3.3 Resonator Denia instead. Check out our Denia Build Guide to help you decide.

Phrolova Strengths and Weaknesses

How to Play Phrolova

Phrolova’s gameplay is built around Volatile Notes, Scarlet Coda, and Hecate. Her main goal is to collect 6 Volatile Notes, use Heavy Attack to cast Scarlet Coda, then activate Resonance Liberation to enter Maestro State and let Hecate deal damage.

Phrolova does not use normal Resonance Energy. Her max Resonance Energy is 0, and her Resonance Liberation can only be used after entering Resolving Chord through Scarlet Coda.

Phrolova Skill Priority

Upgrade Phrolova’s skills in this specific order to maximize her damage output:

Resonance Liberation > Normal Attack > Forte Circuit > Intro Skill > Resonance Skill

Resonance Liberation is the top priority because Hecate is a major part of Phrolova’s damage, both on-field and off-field. Normal Attack and Forte Circuit come next because they help Phrolova build Volatile Notes and use Scarlet Coda. Intro Skill can be upgraded later, while Resonance Skill has lower priority because its base damage is not the main part of her kit.

Phrolova Gameplay Loop Explained

Phrolova’s rotation follows one main path. The key rule is simple: build 6 Volatile Notes first, use Heavy Attack to trigger Scarlet Coda, then cast Resonance Liberation.

  • Enter the field
  • Create Volatile Notes until you reach 6 Notes
  • Use Heavy Attack for Scarlet Coda
  • Cast Resonance Liberation to enter Maestro State
  • Switch to another Resonator and use Echo Skills to trigger Hecate's off-field attacks

How to Build Volatile Notes

Phrolova can hold up to 6 Volatile Notes. If she gains more than 6, the oldest Note on the left side of the gauge will be replaced.

Best Phrolova Combo and Rotation

Phrolova’s damage works best when the team keeps moving. Build Notes quickly, cast Scarlet Coda, bring out Hecate, then let the next Resonator use the 24-second Maestro window.

Start with Phrolova’s Intro Skill if possible. This lets her jump into Basic Attack Stage 3 faster and begin creating Volatile Notes. A clean full rotation should follow this sequence:

Phrolova Combat Tips

To maximize Phrolova's output and survivability, you should leverage her Inherent Skills and Tune Break mechanics:

Best Weapons for Phrolova

Phrolova Best Weapon Lethean Elegy

Phrolova's damage model splits heavily between Resonance Skill DMG and Echo Skill DMG. Weapons that directly boost these two stats outperform generic ATK% options by a wide margin.

Below is a tiered ranking with estimated damage performance relative to her signature weapon.

Phrolova's signature weapon, Lethean Elegy, is her clear best-in-slot. It pulls ahead of every other Rectifier thanks to its unique combination of Echo Skill DMG Amplification, Resonance Skill DMG bonus, and DEF ignore.

Note that both Lethean Elegy and Dream of the Lost contribute Crit Rate, so be mindful of overcapping Crit Rate.

If you don't have Lethean Elegy, Stringmaster is your next best option, offering solid ATK buffs triggered by Resonance Skills and a general Attribute DMG bonus. Cosmic Ripples and Augment are both decent alternatives, each providing useful ATK buffs.

Phrolova Best Echo Sets

Phrolova’s best Echo setup should work around her 0 Energy state, Crit Rate bonus, and Echo Skill damage. Here are the best Echo sets for her, from the strongest build to temporary options for players still farming.

Optimized Echo Stats Overview
COST 4 CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
COST 3 Havoc DMG Bonus x2 (or Havoc DMG + ATK%)
COST 1 ATK%
Sub-stats: CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > ATK% > Basic Attack DMG Bonus / Resonance Skill DMG
Energy Regen: Recommended ~100% (No ER needed due to note mechanics)

1. Best Option: 3pc Dream of the Lost + 2pc Havoc Eclipse Echo Set

For Phrolova, Dream of the Lost is a must-have 3-piece Echo set. For the 4-cost Echo, choose Nightmare: Hecate.

Keep in mind that the 3-piece Dream of the Lost set gives 20% Crit Rate when Resonance Energy is at 0. So if you are using a Crit Rate weapon, it is better to choose Crit DMG as the main stat for your 4-cost Echo to avoid wasting Crit Rate.

For the remaining 2-piece set, Midnight Veil or Havoc Eclipse are both good choices. They provide the same type of bonus, so just use the one with better stats. Midnight Veil is usually more cost-effective to farm, since you can also farm it for Roccia and Cantarella at the same time.

2. Alternative Option: 5pc Havoc Eclipse Echo Set

Before you finish farming a good Dream of the Lost set, Midnight Veil and Havoc Eclipse are both fine to use. They give Phrolova the Havoc DMG she needs, and the set is much easier to build early on.

3. Beginner Choice: 2pc Midnight Veil + 2pc Havoc Eclipse Echo Set

If you do not have a full Dream of the Lost set yet, you can start with 2pc Midnight Veil + 2pc Havoc Eclipse. This setup gives Phrolova a simple Havoc DMG boost and does not need any special trigger, making it a good beginner choice while you farm better Echo pieces.

Phrolova Resonance Chain

Phrolova can already play well at S0, but her Resonance Chains make her rotation smoother and give Hecate much more damage. If you only want the most useful upgrades, the main stopping points are S2, S3, and S6.

For most players, S3 is the best stopping point. If you want to fully invest in Phrolova, then S6 gives her the biggest upgrade.

Best Phrolova Resonance Chain Stopping Points

  • S2 is a strong early upgrade. It increases the damage of Scarlet Coda and gives Phrolova 14 Aftersound stacks after casting Scarlet Coda. This is useful because Aftersound helps raise her Crit DMG, so Phrolova can start dealing better damage much faster.
  • S3 is the best value point for most players. It gives 80% Echo Skill DMG Amplification, which is very important because a lot of Phrolova’s damage comes from Hecate and Echo Skill-related attacks. S3 also changes all Volatile Notes into Cadenza Notes after Scarlet Coda. This makes Hecate’s attacks easier to use, with both damage and control. Enemies hit by Enhanced Attack - Hecate: Cadenza also lose 20% ATK for 15 seconds.
  • S6 is her strongest chain. It increases Enhanced Attack - Hecate damage by 24%. When Phrolova uses Movement of Fate and Finality or Murmurs in a Haunting Dream, Hecate also deals extra Havoc damage equal to 216.42% of Phrolova’s ATK and gives 8 Aftersound stacks on hit. During Maestro State, S6 also makes enemies take 40% more damage from Hecate and Phrolova when Phrolova is off-field. If Phrolova stays on-field, she gains 60% Havoc DMG Bonus.

What Each Resonance Chain Does

Should You Pull Phrolova Resonance Chains?

If you want a simple answer: S0 is playable, S2 is a good early upgrade, S3 is the best stopping point, and S6 is for players who want maximum Phrolova damage.

S1 makes her rotation smoother. S2 gives better Scarlet Coda damage and faster Aftersound stacks. S3 is where her Hecate damage really improves. S4 helps the whole team. S5 adds control and safety. S6 gives her the full damage package. For most players, S3 is enough. Go for S6 only if Phrolova is your main investment and you want her best version.

Phrolova Best Team Compositions

Phrolova's off-field DPS model demands teammates who can cast Echo Skills frequently (or have abilities coded as Echo Skill DMG). Here are the proven team compositions ranked by performance.

T0: Phrolova Echo Skill DMG Team

This is Phrolova's absolute best team in Version 3.3. Every member synergizes at a mechanical level.

Cantarella is purpose-built for Phrolova. Her Liberation, Enhanced Heavy Attack, and Enhanced Resonance Skill are all classified as Echo Skill DMG in the game's backend. Every action she takes on-field triggers Hecate's coordinated attacks, creating relentless off-field damage.

Qiuyuan is the only Resonator who buffs Echo Skill DMG directly. His Liberation and Forte passives grant team-wide Echo Skill DMG Bonus and Crit DMG, amplifying both Phrolova and Cantarella simultaneously.

Full Team Rotation (Phrolova + Qiuyuan + Cantarella)

This is the premium rotation for Phrolova's best team comp:

  • Phrolova enters → Builds 6 Volatile Notes → Scarlet Coda → Echo Skill → Resonance Liberation → Outro to Qiuyuan
  • Qiuyuan enters → 2x Basic Attack → Echo Skill → Liberation → Forte-enhanced Heavy Attack string → Resonance Skill → Outro to Cantarella
  • Cantarella enters → Resonance Skill → Liberation → Enter Mirage → Full combo rotation (all attacks count as Echo Skill DMG, triggering Hecate repeatedly) → Outro back to Phrolova
  • Repeat the cycle. Prioritize Echo Skill casts from all characters to maximize Hecate triggers.

The full rotation should fit within the 24-second Maestro window. If Phrolova re-enters while still in Maestro, her Intro Skill becomes enhanced, dealing higher damage and staggering enemies.

T0 Alternative: Phrolova Hypercarry Team

If you don't have Qiuyuan, replace him with Shorekeeper. You lose Echo Skill DMG buffing but gain massive survivability plus Crit Rate/Crit DMG aura from Shorekeeper's Liberation field. This team is more forgiving in content where getting one-shot is a real risk.

General Rotation
  1. Start off with Phrolova and build up her Volatile Notes through Basic Attack and Resonance Skill combos.
  2. With six Volatile Notes, perform Scarlet Coda and enter the Resolving Chord state. Perform her Liberation during this time to summon Hecate.
  3. As Hecate is summoned, Phrolova can control its performance. Switch to Shorekeeper when Outro is available.
  4. Have Shorekeeper on-field and perform her optimal combos to fill her Concerto quickly. Activate her Stellarealm and switch out to Cantarella when her Intro is available.
  5. As Cantarella enters the field, fill up her Trance stacks quickly with Resonance Skill and Liberation. Then, you may cast a Heavy Attack to enter the Mirage state.
  6. In Mirage, cast her Resonance Skill and her Basic Attack Combo to deal damage and suspend enemies in the air. Then, switch out to Phrolova when her Intro is available.
  7. From here, you may repeat steps 1 to 6 until all enemies are defeated. Each rotation after the first will maximize Stellarealm's detonation mechanic.

T1: Echo Skill Havoc Team

A full Havoc squad where every member deals and buffs Havoc DMG. Roccia offers fast Concerto generation, crowd control via Imagination stacks, and a team ATK buff from Liberation. The rotation quick-swaps between all three until Roccia triggers her Outro into Phrolova's burst window.

General Rotation
  1. Start off with Phrolova on-field, quickly building up her Volatile Notes to six and immediately casting Scarlet Coda once available.
  2. As she performs Scarlet Coda, she will enter the Resolving Chord state. During this time, you can activate her Liberation to summon Hecate and control her in the Maestro state.
  3. During Maestro state, switch out to Roccia with Phrolova's Outro to buff her Havoc DMG and Heavy Attack DMG.
  4. Next, do Roccia's optimal rotations and maximize her Imagination stacks to execute three Plunge Attacks and generate Concerto. Cast her Liberation to provide a party-wide ATK buff then switch to Cantarella.
  5. With Cantarella on-field, immediately cast her Resonance Skill and Liberation to fill her Trance stacks quickly.
  6. Then, enter her Mirage state and do her internal combos to Stagnate enemies. Once her Outro is available, switch to Phrolova to buff her Havoc and Resonance Skill DMG.
  7. You may repeat steps 1 through 6 as Hecate performs its attacks off-field. Echo Skills empower its attacks, so cast them with Roccia and Cantarella when possible.

T1 Alternative: Double Echo Skill DPS Team

Phrolova works well in a double DPS setup revolving around the Echo Skill DMG composition, together with Sigrika and Qiuyuan. The bulk of Phrolova's damage is dealt off-field, so Sigrika can take her time on-field.

  • Phrolova - Initiate combat and deploy Hecate on-field. Then, switch to Qiuyuan.
  • Qiuyuan - Perform multiple Echo Skill casts to trigger Hecate's attacks and buff Echo Skill DMG. Swapnic provides survivability, and her Outro buffs the next Resonator's Resonance Skill DMG. Baizhi handles healing. This team triggers Hecate less frequently, so expect lower overall DPS — but it works for clearing story content and early Tower of Adversity.

T2 Alternative: Phrolova F2P Team

Phrolova may be played into an F2P team with significant tradeoffs to her own DPS, due to the lack of buffs and Echo Skill activation that triggers her Hecate Attacks. That said, you may still run her with another Havoc DPS to be the On-Field DPS, while Phrolova deals Off-Field DMG.

Danjin is a strong 4-star unit that can deal a good amount of Havoc DMG onto enemies, as long as you can balance out her HP drain. On the other hand, Buling is one of the best 4-star units to have with Phrolova, since she gives heals, buffs to Resonance Skill DMG, and Electro Flare periodic DMG.

General Rotation
  1. Start combat with Buling and generate a Thunder Over Mountain trigram sequence via 4 Basic Attacks and a Heavy Attack.
  2. Then, cast her Resonance Skill and a Basic Attack, followed by another Heavy Attack to now generate the Twin Thunders trigram sequence.
  3. With both sequences available, cast her empowered Liberation which inflicts Electro Flare and a Resonance Skill DMG Boost. Once Concerto is full, switch to Phrolova.
  4. As Phrolova, generate six Volatile Notes via her Basic Attack and Resonance Skill combos.
  5. Once six Volatile Notes are available, hold Heavy Attack to perform Scarlet Coda and enter the Resolving Chord state.
  6. In this state, perform her Liberation and summon Hecate. Then, switch to Danjin via her Outro.
  7. Using Danjin's on-field time, maximize her damage using her combos to build up her Forte. Make sure to cast Echo skill to proc Hecate's attacks.
  8. After activating her Forte and Liberation, switch back to Buling.
  9. You may repeat the rotation until all enemies are defeated.
Note Make sure to cast Echo Skills whenever each Resonator is on-field to trigger Hecate's enhanced attacks.
