Who Is Cantarella?

In Wuthering Waves, Cantarella is a 5-star Havoc Resonator designed primarily as a quick-swap Sub-DPS, while also bringing healing and buffing utility to the team. If you're wondering where she ranks, check out our Wuthering Waves Tier List to see how she stacks up against the rest of the roster.

Her core gameplay revolves around entering the Mirage state to deal on-field damage — her Basic Attacks hit hard while simultaneously triggering Perception Drain to continuously restore HP for the whole team. In other words, she's dealing damage and healing at the same time.

On top of that, her Outro Skill grants the entire team a +25% Resonance Skill DMG bonus and a +20% Havoc DMG bonus — a significant and reliable damage boost for any lineup.

All things considered, Cantarella is a true all-rounder: damage dealer, healer, and buffer in one. She fits into most team compositions with ease, making her one of the highest-utility Resonators in the current version.

Skill Breakdown

Skill NameBasic Attack — Phantom Sting
Skill Showcase
Skill Details

A 5-hit Basic Attack combo, all dealing Havoc DMG. The 3rd hit restores 1 Trance stack on contact. Once in Mirage state, Basic Attacks are replaced by an enhanced 3-hit version — each hit restores HP for the whole team and builds Shiver stacks.

Mid-air attacks chain seamlessly into Mirage state for consistent aerial Havoc DMG. Dodge Counters flow naturally into Basic Attacks to maintain combo rhythm.

Skill NameResonance Skill — Graceful Step / Perception Drain
Skill Showcase
Skill Details

Graceful Step (normal state): Deals Havoc DMG and restores 1 Trance stack.

Flowing Suffocation (Mirage state): Replaces Graceful Step, can be cast mid-air, and counts as an Echo Skill — great for building Concerto Energy quickly.

Perception Drain (at 3 Shiver stacks): Consumes all Shiver stacks to deal Havoc DMG, heal nearby teammates, and inflict Hazy Dream on enemies — a massive slow with a large AoE radius. It also counts as an Echo Skill.

Skill NameResonance Liberation — Beneath the Sea
Skill Showcase
Skill DetailsOn the cast, applies a Coordinated Attack buff to the whole team: teammates' attacks summon jellyfish to strike alongside them — similar to Zhezhi's Liberation mechanic. Also restores 3 Trance stacks, letting Cantarella enter Mirage state immediately to continue her rotation.
Skill NameIntro Skill — Illusory Weave
Skill Showcase
Skill DetailsOn swap-in, deals Havoc DMG and restores 1 Trance stack. For the next 25 seconds after triggering the Intro Skill, every time a teammate uses an Echo Skill, Cantarella gains 6 Concerto Energy — up to 6 times total (once per unique Echo Skill).
Skill NameOutro Skill — Dream Weaver
Skill Showcase
Skill Details

Activated when Cantarella swaps off-field (persistent effect):

  • +25% Resonance Skill DMG Amplification for the incoming Resonator
  • +20% Havoc DMG Amplification for the incoming Resonator
Skill NameInherent Skills
Skill Showcase
Skill Details

Inherent Skill 1: While in Mirage state, Cantarella's healing potency increases when casting her Resonance Skill. Additionally, her attacks ignore a portion of the target's DEF — check in-game for exact values.

Inherent Skill 2: Increases swimming speed and reduces Stamina consumption while in water (exploration perk).

Combat Rotation

Cantarella's core loop follows a simple flow: build Trance → enter Mirage → stack Shiver → cast Perception Drain → swap to Main DPS and cash in the buffs.

1️⃣ Swap in and trigger Intro Skill Grants 1 Trance stack and activate the Concerto Energy acceleration window. Always lead with her Intro Skill the moment she hits the field.

2️⃣ Cast Resonance Skill — Graceful Step. If you don't have enough Trance yet, land the 3rd hit of Basic Attack to recover 1 stack, or cast Graceful Step directly to build Trance.

3️⃣ Heavy Attack to enter Mirage state. Once you have enough Trance, hold Basic Attack to trigger Delusive Dive — converting Trance stacks 1:1 into Shiver stacks and sending Cantarella airborne into Mirage state.

4️⃣ Enhanced Basic Attack ×3 Each hit in Mirage state builds 1 Shiver stack and restores HP for the whole team. Chain all 3 hits to max out Shiver.

5️⃣ Cast Perception Drain at 3 Shiver stacks. The core damage window: deals heavy Havoc DMG, applies Hazy Dream crowd control, and heals the entire team. One full core rotation complete.

6️⃣ Cast Resonance Liberation when Energy is ready. Restores 3 Trance stacks, applies the Coordinated Attack jellyfish buff to teammates, then swaps to your Main DPS.

7️⃣ Swap to Main DPS — Outro Skill kicks in. Once Cantarella leaves the field, her Outro Skill activates: your Main DPS enjoys +25% Resonance Skill DMG and +20% Havoc DMG for the entire damage window.

Cantarella Sequence Nodes

Pull priority: S1 > S3 > S2 > S6. The first three Sequences are key to transitioning Cantarella into a Main DPS role. S4 and S5 offer minimal gains and can be skipped. S6 unlocks her full Main DPS potential with a massive DEF shred bonus — worth going for if resources allow.

S1 · Sequence Node 1 — Somnolent Aria
Cantarella gains Interrupt Resistance during Resonance Liberation — Beneath the Sea, while also recovering additional Trance stacks and boosting the Liberation's damage multiplier. Prevents rotation breaks from enemy interrupts and delivers a solid across-the-board damage increase.
S2 · Sequence Node 2 — Trembling Surge
Massively amplifies the damage multiplier of Jolt — the burst damage triggered when enemies in Hazy Dream are struck — by up to 245%. A significant power spike for Perception Drain's core damage output.
S3 · Sequence Node 3 — Mirage Frolic
A quality-of-life and damage upgrade in one: reduces the input lag when building Shiver stacks in Mirage state and improves overall damage multipliers, making her rotation feel noticeably smoother. Also, a meaningful boost for her Sub-DPS playstyle.
S6 · Sequence Node 6 — Abyssal Fantasy
Her signature high-investment payoff: near-constant Hazy Dream uptime for a cinematic crowd control experience, plus 30% DEF ignores affected targets — an independent damage multiplier that stacks on top of everything else. At S6, Cantarella fully transforms into a Main DPS, capable of anchoring a powerhouse lineup alongside Roccia and Sanhua.

Cantarella Best Team Compositions

As a short-rotation Sub-DPS, Cantarella slots into virtually every team in the game — think of her as an upgraded Sanhua with the healing utility of Zhezhi. In the current version, her best team compositions fall into two main categories: Jinhsi Coordinated Attack teams and Resonance Skill DMG Main DPS teams.

Conclusion

Cantarella isn't a "pull and forget" Resonator — but she's absolutely not a "waste of investment" either. Nail her role, pair the right Echoes, slot her into a team that suits her, and the returns she delivers will far outshine that dusty icon sitting in your roster.

Start at S0 and get comfortable with her Sub-DPS rotation first. Push toward S1–S3 when resources allow, and let the high-Sequence Main DPS playstyle reveal itself naturally as you get a feel for her — that's the most sensible progression path for Cantarella.

If this guide has convinced you to go for her next rerun, or you're just a few Astrite short of a guaranteed pull, head over to GamsGo for Wuthering Waves top-ups — competitive discounts, and the savings might just cover a few extra pulls.

Cantarella FAQ

Is Cantarella a sub DPS or healer?

Cantarella is both — she's a hybrid sub DPS and healer. In Mirage state, her enhanced normals restore HP for the whole team, while her Perception Drain deals Havoc damage and applies crowd control. Think of her as a short-rotation off-field support who pulls double duty.

What is the best team for Cantarella?

Her strongest team currently is Jinhsi + Cantarella + Zhezhi. Cantarella provides 25% Resonance Skill DMG Amplify and coordinated attacks, while Zhezhi handles energy and additional coordinated hits. If you don't have Zhezhi, Shorekeeper is a solid third slot.

Is Cantarella good for Camellya?

Yes — Cantarella's Outro provides 25% Skill DMG Amplify, which Camellya can consistently trigger through her high-frequency Resonance Skill output. She also covers healing, removing the need for a dedicated healer slot. A viable but not top-tier pairing for the current meta.

How to build healer Cantarella?

Run Hollow Melody (Rejuvenating Glow) 5-piece set with a healing bonus main stat on Cost 3. Prioritize Resonance Circuit and Resonance Skill upgrades. Keep Resonance Efficiency at 130–140% to maintain Outro uptime, which is when most of her healing windows open.

Is Cantarella worth pulling?

Yes, especially if you run Jinhsi or Camellya. She's one of the most versatile supports in the current roster — healer, sub DPS, and amplifier in one slot. At S0, she's already useful; S1–S3 push her noticeably further. Worth pulling, worth keeping.
