Is Qiuyuan worth pulling for?
The Version 3.2 Phase 1 rerun banner, [Wanderer Knows No Far and Near], is now live. It features boosted Convene rates for 5-star Qiuyuan and 4-stars Sanhua, Buling, and Yangyang, and runs until April 9, 2026. Once the banner ends, there's no telling when he'll be available again, so don't miss your window.
Eligibility requirements are straightforward: reach Union Level 5, complete the combat test in the Tides of History quest "A Fateful Encounter," or reach that stage via the quest's Quick Start feature. If you already have Galbrena, Qiuyuan is the key Sub-DPS that completes your Echo Skill DMG team.

Strengths |
|
Weaknesses |
|
Qiuyuan is the unrivaled buffer for Echo Skill DMG teams. If you have Galbrena, he's a strong pull to complete that comp. That said, if you already have Brant or Lupa, the gap isn't dramatic — he's best recommended for Rovers who want to push their Echo Skill DMG team to the absolute ceiling.
Note
- Tier ratings are for reference only — Main DPS, Sub-DPS, and Support roles are evaluated on different criteria. When deciding whether to pull, factor in your personal preferences alongside raw performance.

Qiuyuan Best Weapons
Qiuyuan is a Sub-DPS focused on Heavy Attack and Echo Skill DMG output. We recommend weapons that directly boost Heavy Attack or Echo Skill DMG, or help meet his Energy Regen requirements. Here are the top weapon options for him.

Category | Weapon Details |
Best Weapon | ![]() Emerald Sentence (R1) ATK: 587 | Crit. Rate: 24.3% Weapon Effect: Qiuyuan's signature weapon. It raises his damage ceiling while further amplifying Echo Skill buffs for the team. ATK is increased by 12%, and casting Echo Skill after an Intro Skill or Basic Attack grants up to 60% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus. Casting Outro Skill also increases the team's Echo Skill DMG Bonus by 20%. |
Alt. Weapons | ![]() Emerald of Genesis ATK: 587 ![]() Red Spring ATK: 587 ![]() Lumingloss ATK: 412 The standard-banner Emerald of Genesis significantly reduces his Energy Regen requirements and performs at roughly 80% of the signature weapon's output. Red Spring is a solid all-rounder thanks to its strong base stats. Among 4-star options, Lumingloss is the top pick, offering an ATK boost on Resonance Liberation. |
Qiuyuan Best Echo Sets
Qiuyuan is a Sub-DPS built around Heavy Attack and Echo Skill DMG. When choosing a Sonata Effect, prioritize sets that directly boost these two damage types or help shore up his Energy Regen requirements.
Recommended Sonata Effects
Based on current player data, Law of Harmony sees by far the highest usage rate. It synergizes well with Qiuyuan's kit and helps maximize team buffs. Here are the recommended Sonata Effects.
Echo Set | Rating & Details |
Law of Harmony + Sierra Gale | ★★★ - 1st Choice (Recommended) The best-fitting set for Qiuyuan's kit. It consistently activates the Echo Skill DMG boost and scales even higher at S2 and beyond. This set also pulls ahead when paired with Phrolova in terms of total buff output. If you're struggling to hit the Energy Regen threshold, you can swap the 2-pc Sierra Gale for Moonlit Clouds. Recommended Main Echo: |
![]() Moonlit Clouds | ★★☆ - 2nd Choice (General Use) A reliable all-purpose set for Sub-DPS play. It's been a staple recommendation for Sub-DPS characters and is easy to farm. Paired with Impermanence Heron, the post-Outro ATK buff provides strong support to your main DPS. Recommended Main Echo: |
![]() Sierra Gale | ★★☆ - 3rd Choice (Main DPS) The go-to set when running Qiuyuan as a Main DPS. The Aero DMG buff kicks in immediately on Intro, and pairing it with Nightmare: Feilian Beringal stacks both Heavy Attack DMG and Aero DMG bonuses to push his personal damage higher. Recommended Main Echo: |
The Law of Harmony set has the highest damage ceiling overall, but depending on your team comp (Sub-DPS vs. Main DPS) and farming situation, Moonlit Clouds and other sets are perfectly solid alternatives.
Main Echo Breakdown
The best Main Echo depends on which Sonata Effect you're running. Check the table below for the pros and cons of each option.
Main Echo | Echo Details |
![]() Reminiscence: Fenrico |
|
![]() Impermanence Heron |
|
![]() Nightmare: Feilian Beringal |
|
Law of Harmony + Reminiscence: Fenrico is the highest-ceiling combination, but if farming efficiency is a concern, Impermanence Heron or Nightmare: Feilian Beringal are both smart alternatives depending on your situation.
Qiuyuan Echo Stats
Qiuyuan's Resonance Liberation scales its team buff based on his own Crit. Rate, so hitting the right stat thresholds is essential.
Echo Slot | Recommended Stats |
Main Stats | 4-Cost: Crit. DMG (priority) / Crit. Rate 3-Cost: Aero DMG Bonus 1-Cost: ATK% |
Substat Priority |
|
To hit the maximum 30% Crit. DMG buff from his Resonance Liberation, Qiuyuan needs at least 65% Crit. Rate. Since his weapon and base stats already contribute a solid chunk of this, going with Crit. DMG on the 4-Cost Main Echo gives the highest expected damage output. Also make sure to reach 130% Energy Regen through substats to keep his Liberation available every rotation.
Qiuyuan Best Teams
Qiuyuan is a buffer and Sub-DPS who massively amplifies Echo Skill DMG for the team. He shines brightest when paired with a Main DPS that relies heavily on Echo Skill casts. Sigrika, who joined in Version 3.2, and Galbrena are both ideal partners for him.
Team Type | Main DPS | Sub-DPS | Support |
1. Echo Skill DMG Hypercarry | Sigrika (5★) | Qiuyuan (5★) | Shorekeeper (5★) |
2. Fusion Echo Skill Team | Galbrena (5★) | Qiuyuan (5★) | Shorekeeper (5★) |
3. Qiuyuan Main DPS (S3+) | Qiuyuan (5★) | Iuno (5★) | Shorekeeper (5★) |
Qiuyuan (5★) | Mortefi (4★) | Verina (5★) | |
4. Havoc Echo Skill Team | Phrolova (5★) | Cantarella (5★) | Qiuyuan (5★) |
1. Echo Skill DMG Hypercarry

Sigrika (Main DPS)

Qiuyuan (Sub-DPS)

Shorekeeper (Support)
The highest-ceiling team pairing Sigrika, who joined in Version 3.2, with Qiuyuan. Qiuyuan is the core buffer here, providing the Echo Skill DMG amplification that Sigrika's kit depends on so heavily. Shorekeeper rounds out the team as the best support choice, bringing strong Crit buffs, All-Type DMG Amplification, and reliable healing.
2. Fusion Echo Skill Team

Galbrena (Main DPS)

Qiuyuan (Sub-DPS)

Shorekeeper (Support)
The top-tier Echo Skill DMG team before Sigrika's arrival. Qiuyuan's Echo Skill DMG amplification and Crit. DMG buffs funnel directly into Galbrena for explosive output. The key to this team is smooth rotation — transitioning cleanly between Qiuyuan and Galbrena's combos and timing Shorekeeper's Stellarealm detonation.
Echo Skill DMG Team Rotation
- Start with Shorekeeper and build up her Resonance and Concerto gauges. Once ready, cast Resonance Liberation to deploy Stellarealm and activate her Echo Skill, then swap to Qiuyuan.
- After Qiuyuan's Intro, land two Basic Attacks to fill his Forte, Swordster's Soliloquy, to max stacks. Then cast Echo Skill and Resonance Liberation.
- Hold the Heavy Attack button to perform the 3-hit combo that consumes his Forte stacks for enhanced damage. Finish with Resonance Skill, then swap to Galbrena (or Sigrika) via Outro to pass on the Echo Skill DMG Amplification buff.
- With Galbrena on the field, cast Echo Skill and land 6 Basic Attacks to build her Forte, then activate Resonance Skill.
- Cast Resonance Liberation for a burst of damage and follow up with 7 Basic Attacks to fully deplete her Forte gauge.
- Once Galbrena's Concerto is full, swap back to Shorekeeper to detonate Stellarealm. Repeat this cycle until all enemies are down.
3. Qiuyuan Main DPS (S3+)

Qiuyuan (Main DPS)

Iuno / Mortefi (Heavy Attack Buffer)

Shorekeeper / Verina (Support)
At S3, Qiuyuan unlocks his Main DPS potential. Since Heavy Attack is the backbone of his damage output, pairing him with a Heavy Attack DMG buffer like Iuno or Mortefi is essential. The third slot goes to a general support like Shorekeeper or Verina to keep the team stable.
4. Havoc Echo Skill Team

Phrolova (Main DPS)

Cantarella (Sub-DPS)

Qiuyuan (Sub-DPS / Buffer)
Qiuyuan slots into Phrolova and Cantarella's Havoc team to amplify their Echo Skill DMG significantly. He boosts both Phrolova's off-field Hecate attacks and Cantarella's sustained Echo Skill output. Every member of this team passes a buff to the next in a seamless chain, making for a tightly interlocking rotation.
Havoc Team Rotation
- Start with Phrolova and build up her Volatile Notes to 6 stacks using Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill combos.
- Cast Resonance Liberation to summon Hecate, then swap to Qiuyuan via Outro to pass on the Heavy Attack DMG Amplification buff.
- After Qiuyuan's Intro, land two Basic Attacks to fill Swordster's Soliloquy to max stacks, then cast Echo Skill and Resonance Liberation.
- Hold Heavy Attack to perform the 3-hit Forte combo, then cast Resonance Skill and swap to Cantarella via Outro — passing the 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification buff to her.
- With Cantarella on the field, immediately cast Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation to reach max Trance stacks, staggering enemies and healing the team.
- Once Cantarella's Concerto is full, swap back to Phrolova to receive her Havoc and Resonance Skill DMG buff. Continue cycling to maximize Hecate's off-field attacks, which are powered up by both Qiuyuan and Cantarella's Echo Skills.
Qiuyuan Skill Analysis
Skill Level-Up Priority
Recommended Priority |
Forte Circuit > Resonance Liberation > Resonance Skill = Normal Attack > Intro Skill |
Qiuyuan's primary damage comes from the Forte-consuming Heavy Attack combo in his Forte Circuit, so max this out first. Resonance Liberation is second priority as the source of his team-wide Crit. DMG buff. After that, level Resonance Skill and Normal Attack evenly since both appear in his rotation.
Active Skills and Mechanics

Qiuyuan generates Swordster's Soliloquy from Basic Attack Stage 3 and Dodge Counter. At 200 / 400 / 600 points, he unlocks Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash, Bamboo's Shade, and the Inksplash of Mind state respectively.
While in Inksplash of Mind, he can no longer gain Swordster's Soliloquy, but consuming it powers up his attacks for significantly higher damage.

![]() Forte Circuit | Gauge: Swordster's Soliloquy (max 600 pts) Generates 100 pts from Basic Attack Stage 3, Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash (each stage), and Dodge Counter. ![]() Resonance Liberation | Deals powerful Echo Skill DMG to all targets within range. Key Buff: For every 1% of Crit. Rate above 50%, increases the Crit. DMG of all nearby active Resonators by 2% for 30s, up to a maximum of 30%. This is why hitting at least 65% Crit. Rate is essential when building Qiuyuan. |
![]() Intro Skill ![]() Outro Skill | Intro Skill: Attack the Must-Defend On entering the field, deals Heavy Attack DMG and instantly generates 400 pts of Swordster's Soliloquy. Following up with a Normal Attack chains directly into Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash Stage 3, dramatically cutting down the gauge warm-up time. Outro Skill: Strike Before Ready On switching out, deals Echo Skill DMG and grants the incoming Resonator 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification for 14s. Always time this right before your main DPS — Galbrena or Sigrika — unleashes their burst. |
Inherent Skills
![]() Quietude Within | Upon entering Inksplash of Mind (600 pts), the 3-hit Heavy Attack combo deals 50% more DMG for 10s. Landing the third hit also restores 30 Concerto Energy, helping Qiuyuan reach his Outro Skill sooner. |
![]() Drink Away Woes Age-Old | After casting Echo Skill, the next time Qiuyuan gains Swordster's Soliloquy, he receives a 10% ATK increase for 20s — a handy self-buff that activates naturally within his rotation. |
Attribute Bonuses | The Forte skill tree passively provides a total of 8% Crit. Rate along with ATK bonuses, making it significantly easier to hit his required stat thresholds. |
Resonance Chain
Node | Rating & Value |
![]() S1 | Grants interrupt immunity to the core 3-hit Heavy Attack combo, eliminating the risk of the string being cut short. Also provides 20% Crit. Rate, making stat-building noticeably more comfortable. |
![]() S2 | Doubles the team-wide Echo Skill DMG Bonus from Bamboo's Shade — from 30% up to 60%. This is one of the best-value sequence nodes, as it greatly amplifies Qiuyuan's support output. |
![]() S3 ⭐ Key Node (Main DPS Unlock) | Significantly increases Resonance Liberation's DMG multiplier and unlocks a special Resonance Skill (Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain). This node enables a second rotation cycle and converts the Outro into a high-damage skill, transforming Qiuyuan from a support-oriented Sub-DPS into a full-fledged Main DPS. |
![]() S4 | A straightforward 20% ATK increase. Underwhelming compared to the other nodes — a filler stop on the way to S5 and S6. |
![]() S5 | Grants a permanent passive that ignores 15% of the target's DEF when dealing damage — a strong boost that produces a noticeable gain in expected damage output. |
![]() S6 | The final Heavy Attack hit stagnates nearby enemies, and exiting Inksplash of Mind triggers an additional 600% ATK hit. On top of that, casting Straw Cape in Drizzly Rain grants 100% Crit. DMG for 6s, completing Qiuyuan's transformation into a true hypercarry Main DPS. |
Standard Rotation (Sub-DPS / Buffer)
Standard Combo: Intro → Basic Attack (x2) → (Echo Skill) → Resonance Liberation → Hold Heavy Attack (3-hit string) → Resonance Skill → Outro (swap to next Resonator)
- Enter via Intro Skill to instantly gain 400 pts of Swordster's Soliloquy, then land 2 Basic Attacks to push the gauge to a full 600 pts.
- Cast Resonance Liberation to apply the team-wide Crit. DMG buff. If running Law of Harmony, use your Echo Skill here as well.
- Hold Heavy Attack to unleash the 3-hit Echo Skill DMG combo, consuming all Forte stacks. This also fills the majority of your Concerto gauge.
- Spend any remaining time with Resonance Skill, then exit via Outro Skill to pass the 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification buff to your main DPS.

Qiuyuan FAQ
How much Energy Regen does Qiuyuan need?
Aim for around 130%. He functions as a sub-DPS who burns through his gauge in a short burst before swapping out, so hitting this threshold is essential to reliably activate his Resonance Liberation every rotation.
Why is Crit. Rate important for Qiuyuan?
It comes down to his Resonance Liberation passive. For every 1% of Crit. Rate Qiuyuan has over 50%, all nearby active Resonators gain 2% Crit. DMG (up to a maximum of 30%). This makes hitting at least 65% Crit. Rate — through Echo sub-stats and weapon choice — the cornerstone of a well-built Qiuyuan.
How much Astrite do I need to guarantee Qiuyuan?
To be safe in the worst case, aim to save at least 160 pulls (roughly 25,600 Astrite). If you're also going for his signature weapon, budget for an additional 240–320 pulls on top of that. Plan smart by factoring in the Astrite and pulls distributed through events and login rewards during the banner period.
