Hiyuki is the dedicated carry that Glacio teams have been waiting for, with burst damage, team amplification, and a unique reaction system that rewards precise execution.

Her core mechanic applies Glacio Chafe stacks to enemies, which teammates can convert into Glacio Bite. When Bite stacks reach 10, Hiyuki detonates them with Frostblind for massive damage.

On top of that, she provides a team-wide 20% damage buff, amplifies all team Glacio DMG by 20% against debuffed targets, and her Resonance Liberation features a time-stop finisher that ranks among the most visually impressive moves in the game.

Her S0 performance is strong thanks to anniversary-level tuning: her Present Self Resonance Liberation costs no Concerto Energy, and beta data shows her damage output is competitive without duplicates.

Hiyuki Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths⚠️Weaknesses
  • Fills the premium Glacio main DPS gap vacant since Carlotta (Jan 2025).
  • Dual-form system (Present/Foreclaimed) provides both sustained and burst damage windows.
  • Team-wide 20% DMG buff lasts 30 seconds—one of the longest in the game.
  • Amplifies team Glacio DMG by 20% against targets with Glacio Chafe.
  • Resonance Liberation costs no Concerto Energy, offering exceptional rotation flexibility.
  • 100% DMG reduction during specific skill windows for high built-in survivability.
  • Outro Skill ensures future-proof value as a high-tier Sub-DPS/Buffer.
  • High skill ceiling: Dual-form management and timing demand precise execution.
  • Optimal teams require Chisa and Lucilla (3.4), making team investment expensive.
  • Glacio Bite detonation loses significant value without Glacio Chafe applicators.
  • Frostblind stacking (10 stacks) can be slow without dedicated Glacio support.
  • Best Echo set (Wishes of Quiet Snowfall) is new in 3.3, requiring day-one farming.
  • Critical STA management: Poor stamina control can easily interrupt her complex combos.

Hiyuki Talent Priority

PriorityTalentWhy
1stInherent Skill: Light SnowCore passive that triggers bonus effects when teammates apply Frostbite, Void Effect, or Resonance Shift. Mandatory for optimal DPS. No direct leveling cost, but should be unlocked first in Forte tree.
2ndInherent Skill: No Transient WorldProvides Snowforged Blade recovery out of combat, enabling smoother overworld gameplay and ensuring you enter fights with resources ready.
3rdResonance CircuitControls her form-switching and Dedication system. Higher levels increase the efficiency of her core combat loop.
4thResonance LiberationThe Iai Stance and Bitterfrost finisher are her biggest damage windows. Leveling increases multipliers on her highest-scaling attacks.
5thBasic AttackPresent Self normals are part of her Dedication generation loop. Worth leveling after Liberation for incremental DPS gains.
6thResonance SkillProvides team buff and crowd control, but the 20% damage buff from "Like Reeds on Tides" does not scale with talent level. Lower priority.
7thOutro SkillLowest priority. The Glacio DMG Bonus to the next character is a fixed value.

Hiyuki Kit Breakdown

Normal Attack: Present Self

  • Press Normal Attack consecutively to perform up to 3 consecutive attacks, dealing Glacio DMG. Stage 3 applies 1 stack of Glacio Chafe on hit. Heavy Attack (Present Self): Hold Normal Attack to fire 3 arrows one by one at the cost of STA, dealing Glacio DMG. Hiyuki is immune to interruptions during this sequence. When the last arrow fires, 300 Dedication is consumed and Foreclaiming: Inward Vision becomes available.

Normal Attack: Foreclaimed Self

  • Performs up to 5 consecutive attacks, all dealing Glacio DMG and considered Resonance Liberation DMG. Stages 3, 4, and 5 each apply 1 stack of Glacio Chafe.
  • Heavy Attack (Foreclaimed Self): Hold Normal Attack to enter Hold Breath, continuously consuming STA. On release, casts Heavy Attack dealing Glacio DMG. If Hiyuki is attacked during this window, that instance of damage is reduced by 100% and nearby targets are Stagnated.

Resonance Skill

  • Two variants that share a cooldown:

    • Frostblight: Jade Cleave (Ground): Pulls nearby targets in and deals Glacio DMG.
    • Frostblight: Petalfall (Mid-Air): Pulls nearby targets and deals Glacio DMG from above.

Both versions grant 100% damage reduction if attacked during the animation. Casting either activates "Like Reeds on Tides": increases all nearby Resonators' damage by 20% for 30 seconds.

Resonance Liberation: Iai Stance

  • Hiyuki enters Iai Stance, consuming 100 Frostheart per Iai slash to deal powerful Glacio DMG. When targets have 2+ stacks of Glacio Bite, the damage counts as Resonance Liberation DMG. Key advantage: Her Present Self Resonance Liberation costs no Concerto Energy, giving exceptional rotation flexibility compared to other main DPS characters.

Forte Circuit: Dedication & Snowforged Blade

  • Dedication (Max 300 points): In Present Self, Basic Attack Stage 3 restores 100 Dedication. At max Dedication, holding Normal Attack triggers the transition to Foreclaimed Self.
  • Snowforged Blade: Accumulated through combat (Bitterfrost casts grant 1 stack). Each stack increases the final slash damage, giving players strategic control over burst timing.
  • Glacio Bite Mechanic: Glacio Chafe applied by teammates converts to Glacio Bite. At 10+ stacks, certain skills consume them to trigger Frostblind, a powerful detonation effect.

Inherent Skills

  • Light Snow: Gains combat bonuses when teammates apply Frostbite, Void Effect, or Resonance Shift. Intro Skill: Deals Glacio DMG and inflicts 1 stack of Glacio Chafe on hit. Outro Skill: Removes the "Snowfall" effect and grants Glacio DMG Bonus to the incoming Resonator.

Note: Some beta sources reference additional mechanics in the Intro Skill description, but these have not been consistently confirmed.

Best Weapons for Hiyuki

Hiyuki Weapon Rankings

Hiyuki is a Resonance Liberation-focused DPS whose damage scales heavily with Crit stats and Glacio DMG amplification. Weapons with Crit Rate, Crit DMG, or Glacio-specific passives outperform generic ATK stat sticks. Her signature weapon Frostburn is specifically designed to amplify every part of her kit.

Frostburn is the clear best-in-slot, but the gap between Frostburn and Red Spring is smaller than the gap between S0 and S2 Hiyuki. If you must choose between pulling for the weapon or pulling for constellations, prioritize S2 first (see Resonance Chain section below).

Best Echoes for Hiyuki

Hiyuki Echo Rankings

Wishes of Quiet Snowfall is tailor-made for Hiyuki. It rewards her exact gameplay loop: apply Glacio Chafe (triggers set buff), deal Resonance Liberation DMG (nearly all Foreclaimed Self attacks qualify), and swap out via Outro Skill (passes Glacio DMG to the next character). Every part of this set aligns with her kit.

Hiyuki Echo Main Stats & Sub-Stats

Sub-Stat Priority: ER ~125% > Crit DMG > Crit Rate > ATK% > Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus

Why Crit DMG on Cost 4? At S0 with Frostburn (S1), Hiyuki already reaches approximately 62.3% Crit Rate before any Echo sub-stats. The Wishes of Quiet Snowfall 5-piece adds another 25% Crit Rate when active, pushing her well over 87% without any sub-stat Crit Rate investment. A Crit Rate main stat on Cost 4 would waste a massive amount of stats through overcapping. Crit DMG is the correct choice in almost every scenario.

Main Echo Selection

Use the new 3.3 Glacio Nightmare Echo as your Cost 4 main Echo. Its Echo skill summons an Aleph construct dealing 5 hits of 21.88% + 1 hit of 164.16% Glacio DMG, and when equipped as the main Echo, grants Glacio DMG Bonus +12% and Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus +12% passively. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Hiyuki Resonance Chain (Constellations)

Hiyuki's Resonance Chain progressively transforms her from a strong burst DPS into an overwhelming damage powerhouse. Here's a full breakdown with pull recommendations.

Resonance Chain Pull Advice

  • ✦ S0: Fully functional All core DPS mechanics (dual-form, Glacio Chafe/Bite, team buff, no-energy Liberation) work at base. Beta data confirms competitive damage at S0 thanks to anniversary-level tuning.
  • ✦ S2: Recommended stopping point The 140% Iai multiplier increase and out-of-combat Frostheart recovery transform her overworld gameplay from "build up resources before each fight" to "iaido slash continuously." This is the smoothest, most satisfying version of Hiyuki to play. Community consensus: S2 + Weapon > S0 + Weapon.
  • ✦ S3: Team Flexibility Worth considering if you want maximum team flexibility. The change from "Hiyuki applies Glacio Chafe" to "any Resonator applies Glacio Chafe" for Bite triggers dramatically opens up team building options.
  • ✦ S6: Full power +40% Crit DMG, boosted multipliers across the board, and out-of-combat Snowforged Blade recovery. For players who want to see the biggest numbers possible.

Investment conclusion: S0 + Weapon is the competitive baseline. If you have the budget, S2 + Weapon is the optimal investment target. Pull priority: S2 > Frostburn > S3.

Best Hiyuki Team Comps

Hiyuki's core team-building formula: Hiyuki + status-applying Sub-DPS + Support/Healer. Her Inherent Skill "Light Snow" triggers bonus effects when teammates apply Frostbite, Void Effect, or Resonance Shift, so teammates who provide these effects are prioritized.

Team 1: Hiyuki + Lynae + Chisa (Best Available)

PositionCharacterRole & Tactical Function
Main DPS
Hiyuki

Hiyuki

Core Glacio DMG dealer, Glacio Chafe applicator, and provides a 20% team DMG buff via "Like Reeds on Tides."
Sub-DPS
Lynae

Lynae

Massive buff provider. Applies Frostbite and status effects that trigger Hiyuki's Inherent Skill: Light Snow for bonus combat effects.
Support
Chisa

Chisa

"Thread of Bane" mechanic buffs teams applying negative statuses. Provides healing, defense shredding, and all-attribute damage amplification.

This is Hiyuki's strongest currently available team. Chisa is a Havoc Resonator, but her "Thread of Bane" passive specifically buffs teammates who apply negative statuses, making her the ideal support for Glacio Chafe despite the element mismatch. Lynae provides the status effects that trigger Hiyuki's Light Snow inherent skill, maximizing her DPS output.

Without Chisa, reaching 10 Glacio Chafe stacks requires a longer on-field rotation, directly capping Hiyuki's DPS ceiling. Chisa is not just "nice to have," she is a critical enabler.

Alternative: If rotations feel too long, swap Chisa for Shorekeeper for more straightforward healing and energy support.

Team 2: Hiyuki + Lynae + Mornye (Quick-Swap)

PositionCharacterRole & Tactical Function
Main DPS
Hiyuki

Hiyuki

Burst DPS and core Glacio Chafe applicator for the team.
Sub-DPS
Lynae

Lynae

Provides coordinated off-field damage and serves as a primary buff provider for the main carry.
Support
Mornye

Mornye

Universal buffer who synergizes with Resonance Liberation-focused characters through the Resonance Shift mechanic.

The Lynae + Mornye pairing is a proven universal support duo that can buff almost any main DPS. While Hiyuki is not directly tied to the Resonance Shift system, she benefits heavily as a Resonance Liberation-weighted DPS. This team trades Chisa's Glacio Chafe synergy for broader flexibility and easier rotations.

Team 3: Budget / F2P Team

PositionCharacterRole & Tactical Function
Main DPS
Hiyuki

Hiyuki

Core Glacio damage dealer focusing on high-frequency burst windows.
Sub-DPS
Utility
Jianxin

Jianxin / Yangyang / Sanhua

Jianxin: Resonance Liberation DMG boost.
Yangyang: Energy regeneration for smooth rotations.
Sanhua: Fast concerto generation for quick-swap flexibility.
Healer
Verina

Verina / Baizhi

Verina: Standard BiS healer with team-wide ATK buffs.
Baizhi: Consistent F2P healing for sustained survivability.

For new players or free-to-play accounts that cannot build full 5-star teams. Standard and 4-star characters fill the support slots adequately. Hiyuki's personal damage is strong enough to carry even with budget supports.

Team 4: Future Ceiling Team: Hiyuki + Lucilla + Chisa (Version 3.4+)

PositionCharacterRole & Tactical Function
Main DPS
Hiyuki

Hiyuki

Core Glacio carry responsible for the team's primary damage output.
Sub-DPS
Lucilla

Lucilla

Dedicated Glacio Sub-DPS. Completes the same-element energy cycle, maximizes Glacio Chafe uptime, and inherits Hiyuki's Outro buff.
Support
Chisa

Chisa

Utilizes the "Thread of Bane" mechanic to provide healing and critical defense shred for the team.

This is the theoretical highest-ceiling Glacio team. Lucilla is expected in Version 3.4 and is designed as Hiyuki's dedicated Sub-DPS partner. With two Glacio characters generating Chafe, the Glacio Bite detonation system (Frostblind) triggers far more frequently. Same-element energy cycling also means smoother rotations with less ER requirement.

If you are pulling Hiyuki with the intent to build the complete Glacio Condensation team, budget Astrite for Lucilla in 3.4 when planning your spending now.

Notable Synergies

  • Shorekeeper: Universal healer/support who can slot into any Hiyuki team when Chisa is unavailable. Provides consistent healing and energy support without any anti-synergy.
  • Carlotta: While both are Glacio DPS, they can coexist in certain team setups. Carlotta's off-field Glacio application can contribute to Hiyuki's Glacio Bite stacking, especially at S3 where any team member's Chafe triggers Bite DMG.

Version 3.3 Key Information (Hiyuki-Related)

Update Schedule

Version 3.3 is Wuthering Waves' 2nd Anniversary update, expected to launch around April 29~30, 2026. The Version 3.3 Preview Special Broadcast is estimated around April 19~24. Hiyuki headlines Phase 1 alongside anniversary events, login rewards, and a large-scale rerun banner.

Anniversary Bonus

Based on the 1st anniversary precedent (Version 2.3), players can expect 30~40 free pulls from anniversary login events, web events, and in-game rewards. The initial top-up bonus is also expected to reset for the anniversary, giving double Lunites on first purchase of each tier.

Banner Schedule (Predicted)

  • Phase 1: Hiyuki (new) + potential reruns. Players can preview Hiyuki early through the "The Flaming Red in Memory" event on April 16.
  • Phase 2: Denia (new Fusion Rectifier) + potential reruns. Top rerun candidates include Carlotta, Cartethyia, Augusta, Iuno, Zani, Aemeath, and Mornye.

New Echo Domain

Version 3.3 introduces the Wishes of Quiet Snowfall and Reel of Spliced Memories Echo sets. The new domain will be available immediately upon update. Farm Wishes of Quiet Snowfall for Hiyuki, and Reel of Spliced Memories for sub-DPS characters like Lucilla and Lynae.

Should You Pull for Hiyuki?

✦ PULL IF:
  • You need a premium Glacio main DPS (significant upgrade over older units like Carlotta).
  • You want the anniversary headliner, historically receiving superior tuning and power.
  • You enjoy high skill-ceiling burst DPS with form-switching and resource management.
  • You value long-term meta relevance (her Outro Skill buff ensures longevity).
  • You own Chisa and want to unlock her full potential in a Glacio Chafe team.
  • You can budget for S2, transforming her into the most satisfying version to play.
✧ SKIP IF:
  • You already have a well-invested Carlotta and don't need a second Glacio DPS.
  • You prioritize the Aemeath DoT team (save for Denia in 3.3 Phase 2).
  • You prefer simpler, lower skill-ceiling characters without complex dual-form systems.
  • You are F2P and cannot afford S0 + Weapon. S0 without Frostburn can feel incomplete.

Astrite Budget

TargetPulls NeededAstrite Cost
Hiyuki (Guaranteed worst case)160 pulls~25,600 Astrite
Frostburn (Signature weapon)80 pulls~12,800 Astrite
S2 Hiyuki (3 copies worst case)480 pulls~76,800 Astrite
S0 + Weapon (Recommended minimum)240 pulls~38,400 Astrite

With the estimated 30~40 free pulls from anniversary rewards and events, the actual cost drops significantly. Players who have saved throughout Version 3.2 should be in a strong position.

Conclusion

Hiyuki is not a plug-and-play character, but within the burst DPS niche, she delivers one of the highest damage ceilings in WuWa with a visually spectacular dual-form combat system.

If you're invested in the Glacio ecosystem, she is a top-priority pull. Recommended investment: S0 + Frostburn as the baseline, S2 + Frostburn as the optimal stopping point. Lucilla in 3.4 will make her team even stronger.

Best of luck with your Version 3.3 pulls! For more character guides and the smartest ways to top up, stay tuned to GamsGo.

FAQ about Hiyuki

Is Hiyuki Worth Pulling at S0?

Yes. All core mechanics work at S0: dual-form combat, Glacio Chafe/Bite detonation, 20% team DMG buff, and no-energy Present Self Liberation. Beta data confirms strong S0 performance. The real QoL spike is S2 (Iai multiplier + out-of-combat recovery). Plan for at least S0 + Frostburn.

Is Frostburn (Signature Weapon) Necessary?

Frostburn is best-in-slot by a clear margin (28% Glacio Chafe amplification, 10% DEF ignore, 20% team Chafe DMG boost). Red Spring and Emerald of Genesis are usable alternatives; Feather Edge is the best 4-star. Pull priority: S2 > Frostburn > S3.

Can Hiyuki Replace Carlotta?

In Chafe/Bite teams with Chisa, Hiyuki offers a higher ceiling and more team utility. Without Chisa, Carlotta's simpler rotation yields comparable results. At S3, both can coexist since any team member's Chafe triggers Hiyuki's Bite DMG.

Who Is Hiyuki's Best Support?

Chisa. Her "Thread of Bane" buffs teams applying negative statuses, perfectly matching Glacio Chafe. She provides healing, crowd control, defense shredding, and DMG amplification. Without Chisa, use Verina or Shorekeeper as general-purpose alternatives.

What About Lucilla?

Lucilla is Hiyuki's dedicated Glacio Sub-DPS, expected in Version 3.4. She completes the optimal trio (Hiyuki + Lucilla + Chisa) with same-element energy cycling and maximum Chafe uptime. Pulling Hiyuki now secures the core piece for a team that only gets stronger.

How Much Crit Rate Does Hiyuki Need from Echoes?

Very little. S0 + Frostburn gives ~62.3% Crit Rate base. The new Echo 5-piece adds 25% more when active (~87% total). Use Crit DMG on Cost 4 to avoid overcapping, and prioritize Crit DMG in sub-stats.

Can I Pre-Farm Materials for Hiyuki?

Mostly yes. Farm Exoswarm Cores (enemy drops), Pendants (Roya Outcasts), Polarizers (Forgery Challenges), Edelschnee (Mt. Gjallar + N.A.N.A. weekly), and Our Choice (Nameless Explorer boss) now. Only "We Who Question" (26 needed) is gated behind a new 3.3 weekly boss.

Should I Pull Hiyuki or Denia?

Need a Glacio main DPS? Hiyuki is the priority as the anniversary headliner and safer standalone pick. Already own Aemeath and need a Fusion off-field support? Denia is more impactful. With limited Astrite, Hiyuki is the higher-value choice.
