All Marvel Rivals Ranks in Order

Marvel Rivals has 9 ranks. Bronze through Celestial are each split into 3 divisions (III, II, I), and every division takes 100 RP to clear. After Celestial I comes Eternity, where divisions give way to a single points ladder. From Bronze III to Eternity, that is 21 divisions, or 2,100 RP.

What Each Marvel Rivals Rank Plays Like

Every rank has its own habits and its own common mistakes. Open a rank to see how matches usually play out there and what to focus on to move up:

Bronze: Learn the Fundamentals

Bronze lobbies often run four Duelists and no Strategist, and most fights are lost to poor grouping rather than poor aim. How to climb: fill Strategist with an easy pick like Mantis or Rocket Raccoon, and stay on the point or payload.

Silver: Stop Staggering Into Fights

Silver III is the most populated division in the game. Teams tend to enter fights one at a time, use ultimates alone and chase kills too far. How to climb: regroup after every team wipe, and learn one reliable Vanguard such as Magneto or Doctor Strange.

Gold: Bans and the Ranked Costume

Gold III unlocks the ban phase and qualifies you for the half-season costume. Teams start using Team-Up abilities with purpose, and flankers begin to target the backline. How to climb: prepare three heroes for your role so a ban never leaves you on an unfamiliar pick.

Platinum: Dive Becomes a Real Threat

Dive heroes like Psylocke, Black Panther and Magik start hunting your Strategists every fight. How to climb: as a Strategist, stay close to your Vanguard instead of on isolated high ground. As a Duelist, turn back and peel when your healers are under pressure.

Diamond: Ultimate Economy Matters

Diamond teams hold their ultimates until your Luna Snow or Invisible Woman has used theirs, and hitscan heroes punish flyers like Iron Man and Storm. How to climb: track enemy Strategist ultimates, and switch to Hawkeye or Hela when flyers control the fight.

Grandmaster: The First Kill Decides Fights

Mechanics are strong across the whole lobby, so the team that lands the first elimination usually wins the fight. How to climb: play off-angles near cover, save your escape cooldown until you need it, and avoid duels that don't help your team.

Celestial: Solo and Duo Queue Only

Parties are capped at two, so coordinated stacks are off the table and communication varies from game to game. How to climb: take the lead on shotcalling, and play heroes that can win fights without constant healing.

Eternity: One Points Ladder

Divisions are gone, and every match feeds a single points pool against the strongest players on your platform. Queue times are longer at this level. How to climb: focus on steady performance, since every point counts in the race for the top 500.

One Above All: Holding the Top 500

One Above All is not a milestone you reach once. You keep it only while you stay in the top 500, and players climbing past you can push you back to Eternity.

What Is the Highest Rank in Marvel Rivals?

One Above All is the highest rank in Marvel Rivals, reserved for the top 500 players on the leaderboard, while Bronze III is the lowest. Here is how the ranks in between connect:

  • After Platinum: Diamond
  • After Diamond: Grandmaster, the first rank to award a Crest of Honor
  • After Grandmaster: Celestial, where parties are limited to solo or duo
  • Eternity vs Grandmaster: Eternity is two ranks higher, directly after Celestial I

How the Marvel Rivals Ranked System Works

Ranked unlocks at account Level 15. Each season opens with placement matches, followed by the RP ladder, with hero bans from Gold III onward. PC and console use separate ladders, so your PC rank does not carry over to PlayStation or Xbox.

Placement Matches and Projected Rank

  1. The first 10 ranked matches of each season are placements.
  2. During placements, a projected rank sets your matchmaking, but it is not final yet.
  3. After the tenth match, your performance adjusts that projection by up to 100 RP in either direction.
  4. Players who skip placements are not eligible for season-end rewards.

Rank Points, Wins and the Chrono Shield

Wins earn RP and losses cost RP. NetEase has not published the exact formula, but strong individual performance raises your gains on a win. Behind the scenes, your hidden MMR decides how strong your lobbies are.

The Chrono Shield prevents a demotion when a loss would drop you a division. It recharges over time and is most forgiving in the lower ranks, so it can save one bad match, but not a long losing streak.

Hero Bans From Gold III

When every player in the lobby is Gold III or higher, each team bans 3 heroes in a 1-2-2-1 order, removing up to 6 heroes per match. Votes raise a hero's chance of being banned but do not guarantee it. This season, Elsa Bloodstone is widely treated as a priority ban.

Before building your 3-hero pool, check our Marvel Rivals tier list to see which heroes hold up best through the ban phase.

Ranked Rules That Changed Since Launch

What Ranks Can Play Together in Marvel Rivals?

Ranked party rules come down to two factors: party size and division gap. From Gold to Celestial, every party member needs to be within 3 divisions of each other. Bronze and Silver players can queue together freely.

Your RankParty SizeWho Can Join
Bronze, Silver2, 3, 4 or 6Any Bronze or Silver player
Gold to Grandmaster2, 3, 4 or 6Within 3 divisions
CelestialSolo or duoWithin 3 divisions
Eternity, OAASolo or duoEternity, OAA, or Celestial II+ within 200 points
Anyone in placementsUp to 3Less than 3 divisions apart

Can Silver 3 Play With Gold 3 in Marvel Rivals?

Yes. Silver III and Gold III are exactly 3 divisions apart, which sits right at the limit. Silver III and Gold II are 4 divisions apart, so that party cannot queue. During placements the gap needs to be under 3 divisions, so both players should finish their 10 placement matches first.

Other common pairings:

  • Gold II: can queue with Silver II to Platinum II
  • Diamond III: can queue with Platinum III to Grandmaster III
  • Celestial III: can duo with Grandmaster III to Celestial I
  • 4-stack: allowed up to Grandmaster, as long as the highest and lowest players are within 3 divisions
  • 5-stack: not allowed at any rank, so queue as four or six

Marvel Rivals Ranked Rewards: Peak or Current Rank?

Ranked rewards come in three forms: a Gold costume every half-season, nameplate frames for Platinum and Diamond, and Crests of Honor from Grandmaster upward. Frames and crests are awarded once per full season.

RewardRank NeededWhen You Get It
🎭 Ranked costumeGold III+End of each half, after 10 matches in that half
🖼️ Nameplate framesPlatinum, DiamondEnd of the full season
🏅 Crests of HonorGrandmaster to OAAEnd of the full season
👑 Top 500 CrestTop 500Final leaderboard

Do Ranked Rewards Use Peak or Current Rank?

Rewards are based on your rank when the season ends, not your peak. Since Season 5, the costume requires you to finish the half-season at Gold or higher, while frames and crests are checked at the end of the full season. Touching Diamond does not count if you finish in Platinum.

Once you reach your target rank near the end of the season, play fewer matches so a late losing streak doesn't cost you a reward you have already earned.

Marvel Rivals Ranked Skins This Season

  • Season 10: Gorr, Gods' Graveyard (no longer available)
  • Season 10.5: Jeff the Land Shark, Razor-Tooth. Finish the half-season at Gold III or higher with at least 10 Competitive matches played.

Every other costume, bundle and the battle pass is bought with Lattice. Check GamsGo for game top-up deals, and claim free in-game items with the latest Marvel Rivals codes before they expire.

Marvel Rivals Rank Reset: Where You Start Next Season

Half-seasons such as Season 10.5 keep your rank, while full seasons reset it. According to the official Season 10.5 roadmap, Season 11 begins on November 13, 2026, and placements start again that day.

Your projected starting rank is 3 divisions below your final rank, which works out to one full rank down:

Season 10 FinishSeason 11 Projected Start
Silver III or lowerBronze III
Gold IISilver II
Platinum IIIGold III
Diamond IPlatinum I

Celestial IIIGrandmaster III

Your hidden MMR carries over, so a strong placement run can win back up to 100 RP right away. Placements cannot put you above Celestial I.

How to Rank Up in Marvel Rivals

Most RP is lost to avoidable habits rather than weak mechanics. These fixes make the biggest difference at any rank:

  1. Play placements on your comfort hero. Practice new heroes such as Gorr in Quick Match rather than with 100 RP at stake.
  2. Track enemy Strategist ultimates. If Luna Snow or Invisible Woman has an ultimate ready, bait it out before you use yours.
  3. Regroup after a team wipe. Wait for your team and enter together, even if it costs a few seconds on the objective.
  4. Swap when a matchup isn't working. Hero swaps are free in spawn. If a Hela controls the high ground, switch to a dive hero and pressure her.
  5. Play the objective. In Convoy, stay with the payload. In Domination, keep someone on the point so overtime continues.
  6. Take a break after two losses in a row. The Chrono Shield only covers one bad match, and leaving early counts as a loss that can lead to a ranked suspension.
