She's finally here! The fan lady from the Season 2 epilogue, the one who predicted everything before it even happened, just got confirmed playable. Velina Airgid drops in Version 3.0 on June 17, 2026, and she's bringing something ZZZ has never seen before: Wind.
We've pulled together every official reveal and beta leak on her kit, teams, banner schedule, and whether she's worth your pity. Let's get into it.
If Velina is already on your pull list, make sure your Polychromes are ready. You can top up ZZZ at GamsGo and save up to 25%.

Who Is Velina Airgid?
Velina Airgid is the head of the External Strategy Department (ESD), a faction based in Roscaelifer, the classified floating sky city that serves as the new explorable region in Season 3.
She was first introduced through the official drip marketing as the Proxies' guide to this sky city, and her tagline reads:
“Good day. I'm Valina Argid, administrative director of the external strategy department. I'll be your guide. If anything's troubling you, leave it to me. I'll handle it.”🥰🥰
Story Appearances
Velina was first introduced as an NPC in the game's main story before her playable debut was confirmed:
- Version 2.7 (Season 2 Interlude: "Encore for an Old Dream"): Velina appeared alongside Norma during one of the final scenes, marking her first in-game appearance.
- Version 2.7+ (Season 2 Epilogue: "New: Eridan Sunset (A)"): Velina and Norma arrived at the Random Play video store. They introduced themselves as representatives from the Marcel Group's Special Affairs, sent by the Mayor with a letter for the Proxies to work with.
- Hollow Champion Competition: During the Season 2 Epilogue, Velina and Norma oversaw the Hollow Champion event while secretly investigating the Porcelloy material. Norma revealed that Velina had already predicted the outcome, and their next objective was to stop Ramiel before she returns to Roscaelifer.
- Season 3 Teaser ("Before the Wind Rises"): Velina appeared as one of the Season 3 characters teased during the lore teaser on April 30, 2026.
Velina and Norma are always together, giving the impression that Velina serves as Norma's guardian. However, her actual role is to supervise Norma's work and ensure their missions are executed properly.
Design and Appearance
Velina's in-game design was confirmed through the official drip marketing and character teaser. She is a tall female character with long gray hair, a large white bow as a hair accessory, and gold jewelry. She always carries a folding hand fan, which doubles as her combat weapon.
Her visual design conveys an elegant, formal aesthetic. Norma has described her as a highly efficient problem solver who handles everything from stubborn paperwork to unruly adults with the same calm, calculated approach. Her way of speaking is notably formal, giving Proxies the impression of someone far more composed than a typical field operative.

Velina's Known Details
Attribute, Specialty, and Rarity
Based on the official drip marketing, the ZTALK Season 3 Special (April 21, 2026), and the "Before the Wind Rises" teaser (April 30, 2026), here is what has been confirmed:
Velina's S-Rank status is indicated by her character teaser featuring a special animation and her character art being animated rather than static, both of which are consistent markers for S-Rank Agents in ZZZ.
💡 The following kit details are based on Version 3.0 beta leaks and community data mining. All values, skill names, and mechanics are subject to change before the official release. We will update this page once the 3.0 Special Program livestream confirms her abilities.
Velina Kit Overview
Early information from the 3.0 beta points to the following kit direction:
Basic Attack Core Mechanic
Press for a standard combo. Hold with 90+ Wind Energy to trigger Eye of the Storm and summon Gale Field, which deals Wind DMG for 5 seconds and triggers the previous character’s Quick Assist.
Wind Energy Resource
Velina starts with 45 Wind Energy and can store up to 135. Using an EX Special Attack gives another 45. Reaching 90+ unlocks Eye of the Storm.
EX Special Attack Energy Gain
A multi-hit fan attack that deals Wind DMG and generates Wind Energy. After using it, Velina can keep attacking with her fan before chaining back into her Basic Attack combo.
Rising Clarity Special Dodge
Instead of relying on parries, Velina dashes backward and fires a wind projectile. A successful evasion triggers Vital View, letting her jump straight into the 5th hit of her Basic Attack.
Ultimate Burst
When Decibel Rating is at maximum, Velina unleashes multiple attacks ahead that deal massive Wind DMG. She is invulnerable during the animation.
Chain Attack Finisher
Velina transforms into a hurricane, hits enemies with consecutive attacks, and ends with a finishing strike that deals massive Wind DMG.
Core Passive (Angel & Witch) Team Utility
Excess Energy Regen converts into Anomaly Mastery and DMG increase. Gale Field also reduces enemy Anomaly Buildup RES, making teamwide Anomaly triggers easier.
Enhancement Points Scaling
Triggering Vortex grants 1 Enhancement Point once every 3 seconds. At 2 points, the next Vortex gains a 300% increased DMG multiplier and summons a full Gale Field.
Mindscape Overview (Cinema)
Preliminary Mindscape leaks suggest the following power spikes:
For most players, M0 is fully functional. M1 is the highest-value stopping point for those willing to invest further, as it directly addresses Velina's energy economy and opens up smoother rotations.
Wind Element: What It Changes in ZZZ
Version 3.0 is not just adding Velina as a new character. It also brings Wind into Zenless Zone Zero for the first time. If you want to understand where Velina fits, you first need to know how this new attribute changes Anomaly teams.
How Wind Works
Wind revolves around three mechanics: Windswept, Erosion, and Vortex. Together, they give Wind teams a different rhythm from current Disorder-based Anomaly setups.
What Wind Means for Existing Teams
The biggest thing to note is that Wind does not simply add another Anomaly type into the current rotation. When Wind is involved, Disorder is replaced by Vortex as the compound reaction.
Right now, many Anomaly teams rely on Disorder by applying two different Attribute Anomalies in quick succession. Wind changes that formula. Instead of chasing regular Disorder triggers, Wind teams are expected to focus more on Vortex, Windswept, and the damage window created by Erosion.
That also means some familiar team pairings may not work the same way once Velina arrives. Characters that were strong mainly because of Disorder may lose part of their usual value, while other Anomaly units could become more useful if they help trigger Vortex consistently.
Based on current information, Vortex damage is equalized across elements, so Fire Vortex, Ice Vortex, and Electric Vortex should perform similarly at equal stats. Wind teams can still trigger Polarity Disorder at a fixed 150% Anomaly damage multiplier, but that appears to be more of a side bonus than the main source of damage.
💡 Version 2.8 introduces a boss that enters a Wind Attribute Anomaly state during certain combat phases. That should give players an early chance to get used to Windswept and Vortex before Velina arrives in Version 3.0.
Is Velina Worth Pulling in ZZZ 3.0?
If you play Anomaly teams, probably yes. Here's our thinking.
Velina is the only Wind Agent at launch. Every Wind-weak Shiyu floor, every new Wind mechanic in Season 3, she's your only option. We've seen this pattern in HoYo games before: the first character to define a new element almost always stays relevant long-term because the system is literally built around them.
Her Gale Field is the other big draw. It stays active for 5 seconds, dealing Wind DMG while she's off-field, and triggers your previous character's Quick Assist. Pair her with Promeia, and you get Wind + Ice Anomaly stacking simultaneously with zero downtime. That's exactly what Vortex comps want.
The catch? Wind disables Disorder. If your Anomaly roster is built around Disorder comps, Velina doesn't slot in. She replaces the whole structure. New reactions, new Drive Discs, potentially new teammates. And 3.1 is the 2nd anniversary, which almost certainly means another must-pull banner right after.
Our take: safe long-term investment for Anomaly players, but wait for the 3.0 livestream before committing. You'll see her final kit, the anniversary plans, and know exactly what you can afford.
Expected Banner Schedule
So, when exactly do you need to decide by? Here's the current timeline based on confirmed dates and version patterns:
| Milestone | Expected Date |
| Version 2.8 launch | May 6, 2026 ✅ |
| Version 2.8 Phase 2 | Late May 2026 |
| Version 3.0 Special Program livestream | Early June 2026 (approx. 1 week before update) |
| Version 3.0 launch (Velina banner) | June 17, 2026 |
| Version 3.0 Phase 2 (Norma banner) | Early July 2026 |
| Version 3.1 (2nd Anniversary) | Late July 2026 |
Velina is expected to headline the first phase of Version 3.0 banners, due to her role as the first Wind Agent and the anchor of the new element system. Norma (S-Rank Fire Stun) is expected to follow in Phase 2.
Pyrois, the Etheric Other combat form of Phaethon, is also confirmed for 3.0 but its acquisition method (gacha vs. story unlock) has not been officially confirmed. Community speculation leans toward Pyrois being a free character, but this remains unverified.

Velina Pre-farm Materials
While Velina's specific skill materials are new and cannot be farmed until 3.0 launches, you can start preparing the following:
| Material Type | What to Farm Now |
| Promotion Materials | Anomaly Agent Certification Seals (Combat Simulation: Agent Promotion) |
| Wind Boss | Version 2.8 introduces a new boss with a Wind Attribute Anomaly phase. Farm this boss to stockpile Velina's ascension materials before 3.0. |
| General Resources | Agent EXP materials (Investigator Logs, Senior Investigator Logs), Dennies |
| Drive Discs | Wait for 3.0 to farm the new Wind-specific Drive Disc set. Do not pre-invest in existing sets that may be suboptimal. |
Best Velina Team Comps (Based on Beta)
This is where it gets interesting. Based on beta testing, here are the teammates that make the most sense with Velina:
If you already have Promeia and Yuzuha built, you're basically ready. Velina + Promeia + Yuzuha is the comp to aim for.
Velina vs. Norma vs. Pyrois: Who Should You Pull?
Let's be real, most of us can't pull all three. Here's how they stack up:
Velina is the safe bet. First and only Wind Agent, defines a new element, slots into existing Anomaly rosters. If you care about Anomaly gameplay at all, she's the priority.
Norma is trickier. Fire Stun is nice, but Qingyi and Lighter already exist. Unless her kit does something dramatically different, she's a luxury pick for most accounts.
Pyrois is the wild card. If it turns out to be free (which most people expect), you save everything for the other two. Wait for the livestream before spending a single Polychrome on this decision.
What's Coming After 3.0?
One more thing to keep in mind before you commit your entire stash: Season 3 is massive.
Version 3.1 "The Long Goodbye" is the official 2nd anniversary. Anniversary patches in HoYo games mean free pulls, events, and usually a headline banner you don't want to miss. That's roughly one month after Velina drops.
And beyond that, the Season 3 teaser showed Lady Sunbringer (the original Void Hunter), Severian (Seth's brother, PubSec Commissioner), Remielle (yes, Ramiel), plus four new faces: Claret, Roxy, Sigrid, and Phoenix. No confirmed attributes or banner dates yet, but if any of these names make you feel something, plan your Polychromes accordingly.
Final Thoughts
Velina is the kind of character that doesn't come around often. New element, new reactions, new team-building rules. Whether she ends up meta-defining or just very good, she's going to reshape how Anomaly works in ZZZ for the entire season ahead.
The 3.0 livestream in early June will confirm everything: final kit, banner order, anniversary preview. That's your decision point. Until then, save your Polychromes, farm the 2.8 Wind boss, and keep your options open.
GamsGo will update this page the moment the livestream drops and follow up with a full Build Guide once her kit is finalized. Bookmark it.
FAQ
When Does Velina Release?
June 17, 2026, in Version 3.0 Phase 1. HoYoverse confirmed that 2.9 is skipped, so ZZZ jumps straight from 2.8 to 3.0. The Special Program livestream is expected in early June.
What Element and Weapon Does Velina Use?
Wind Anomaly, Slash combat type, fights with a folding fan. Velina is the first playable Wind character in ZZZ.
How Many Pulls Do I Need?
S-Rank pity is 90. Soft pity starts around 75, so most people get their 5-star between 75 and 85 pulls. Worst case (losing 50/50) is 180 pulls, or about 28,800 Polychromes.
Is Velina a DPS or Support?
Based on beta leaks, she's an Anomaly sub-DPS. Her Gale Field deals off-field Wind DMG and shreds enemy Anomaly Buildup RES, making her a damage contributor and team amplifier at the same time. Best paired with a main Anomaly carry like Promeia.
Who's Velina's Best Teammate?
Promeia for damage, Yuzuha for Anomaly support. Velina + Promeia + Yuzuha is the projected top Anomaly comp in 3.0.
Should I Pull Velina or Save for The 2nd Anniversary?
3.0 is roughly one month before the anniversary patch (3.1). If you're tight on Polychromes, pull Velina in Phase 1 and save through Phase 2. Anniversary events usually hand out enough free resources to start rebuilding. But honestly, wait for the livestream.
You'll know the anniversary plans and can make a real decision then.
What Drive Disc Set Should I Use?
Wait for 3.0. A new Wind-specific set is coming that boosts Anomaly Proficiency on EX Specials and increases DMG after triggering Windswept. That's expected to be her BiS. Don't pre-invest in existing sets.
