The HSR 4.8 × ZZZ collab is finally taking shape, and if you play both games, the version pairing is hard to miss: HSR 4.8 lines up with ZZZ 3.4. That makes Version 3.4 the most likely window for ZZZ’s side of the crossover, even though HoYoverse has not officially confirmed the ZZZ version yet.
I’ve been following this crossover for a while, so I honestly didn’t expect HSR to be the side that gave us the first real update. With the earlier Robin leak and the latest Pyrois M6 beta leak now in the mix, we finally have enough clues to take a closer look at the likely lineup, Robin’s possible role, and how the collab could fit into Version 3.4.

ZZZ × HSR Collab: What Has Been Confirmed So Far
Right now, most of the confirmed information is coming from the Honkai: Star Rail side. HoYoverse first announced that the ZZZ × HSR crossover would arrive in Winter 2026, but the latest HSR update finally gave us something concrete: the collab will officially launch in HSR Version 4.8.
HoYoverse has confirmed Ellen Joe and Astra Yao as the two ZZZ characters coming to HSR Version 4.8. That also matches one of the biggest early crossover leaks, which makes the remaining Robin reports much harder to ignore.
However, the ZZZ side has revealed much less so far. The crossover is confirmed for Winter 2026, but ZZZ 3.4, Robin, the second collab character, and the banner format are still unconfirmed, so most of the ZZZ-side picture still comes from version timing and leaks.
ZZZ × HSR Collab Release Date: Is Version 3.4 the Most Likely?
Right now, Version 3.4 is the cleanest fit for ZZZ’s side of the crossover. HoYoverse has confirmed that Ellen and Astra Yao will join Honkai: Star Rail in Version 4.8, while the exact 4.8 launch date has not been announced yet. Based on the current HSR schedule, the community is placing 4.8 in late December 2026.
ZZZ lines up with that window almost perfectly. Version 3.2 officially runs for 42 days, from September 9 to October 21. If that six-week cycle continues, Version 3.3 should start on October 21 and Version 3.4 on December 2. That would put the 3.4 Phase 2 banner on December 23, 2026.
That December 23 window is the part I’m watching. It lands right in the expected HSR 4.8 period and gives HoYoverse a very natural point to launch both sides of the collab close together. So unless ZZZ changes its current patch length, late December, around the start of Version 3.4 Phase 2, looks like the most likely ZZZ × HSR collab release window.
Possible ZZZ 3.4 Collab Start Date: December 23, 2026
For now, treat that date as a schedule-based prediction, not an official announcement. HoYoverse has confirmed HSR 4.8 as the crossover version, but it has not yet confirmed ZZZ 3.4 or the ZZZ-side banner date.
ZZZ 3.4 Collab Character Leaks: Robin and Who Else?
If you have been following the collab leaks for a while, Robin is now by far the safest name on the ZZZ side. The early crossover leak pointed to Ellen and Astra Yao moving into HSR, with Robin coming to New Eridu.
Ellen and Astra have now been officially confirmed for HSR Version 4.8, so the first half of that leak has already landed. Robin is still technically unconfirmed, but at this point I would treat her as the leading candidate rather than a loose rumor.
The bigger question is who could join Robin. Aventurine is one of the cleaner possibilities, although there is still no solid leak directly tying him to ZZZ. Other plausible picks include Seele, Kafka, and Firefly, but none currently has the same leak trail as Robin.
HoYoverse is already working on bringing Counter Assist to the Defense Specialty, giving these Agents a way to directly counter certain boss Control Skills. That could be the opening Defense needs to return to mainstream team comps.
In HSR, Aventurine follows the Path of Preservation, with a kit centered on teamwide shields, Effect RES, and follow-up attacks. That identity would translate naturally into a ZZZ Defense Agent. Still, this is only my read for now, while Robin remains the much stronger collab candidate.
Robin in ZZZ: Could She Be a Wind Support?
Wind Support is the direction that makes the most sense to me for Robin right now. Pyrois’ leaked M6 adds extra value when the squad triggers Contamination, while the left branch of his Ultimate can force Contamination on an enemy affected by Wind Anomaly.
In other words, his final Mindscape suddenly has a much stronger reason to run a teammate who can consistently enable Wind-related mechanics.
Roxy is currently the clearest fit, since she is a Wind Stun Agent with direct Contamination synergy. The problem is team space. Pyrois already works extremely well with Stun options such as Norma, so replacing that slot with Roxy just to enable the Wind interaction is not always the most attractive setup.
A Wind Support could solve that much more cleanly by adding the missing Wind utility without forcing Pyrois to give up his preferred Stunner.
Robin also fits that idea from her character-design perspective. In HSR, she follows the Path of Harmony and is built around supporting the entire team, so translating her into a ZZZ Support Agent would preserve the part of her identity players already know.
ZZZ 3.4 Leaks: Storyteller, Robin and Sunbringer Schedule
So the next question is: how could the Version 3.4 banners actually be arranged? Based on the current collab window, character leaks, and story pacing, this is the lineup that makes the most sense to me right now.
ZZZ 3.4 Banner Leak: Storyteller First, Robin Second?
My current guess is Storyteller in Phase 1, followed by Robin and the HSR collab in Phase 2. That puts Robin right into the late-December crossover window, while Storyteller fills the regular ZZZ banner slot before the collab starts.
There is also a real chance that Robin is the only playable HSR character coming to ZZZ. HSR getting Ellen and Astra Yao does not have to mean a two-for-two exchange, and the original leak that correctly named those two only gave Robin as the clear ZZZ-side pick.
Since HSR’s Fate collab already introduced a long-term Collaboration Warp with no scheduled end date, ZZZ’s crossover banner could follow a similar format instead of the usual three-week cycle. We may hear more as early as the Version 3.3 Special Program, but the banner format still needs official confirmation.
Which Sunbringer Comes First: Lindverne or Eldreda?
If Robin takes the second half of 3.4, I would currently move Lindverne Sunbringer to Version 3.5 and place Eldreda later. Lindverne already has much more main-story presence, and her updated story look is another sign that HoYoverse is actively pushing her back into focus. Eldreda, by comparison, still has very little narrative buildup.
So if the Sunbringers release separately, Lindverne before Eldreda feels more natural to me. There is also a recent leak theory that the three Sunbringers could somehow be tied to one playable unit, but the evidence is still too thin to build the schedule around it.

The ZZZ × HSR collab is finally starting to take shape, with HSR 4.8 giving us the clearest official anchor and ZZZ 3.4 looking like the most natural window on the other side.
