ZZZ Kafka Overview

So, what do we know about Kafka so far? Her arrival in ZZZ 3.4 is official, but her combat role is still a mystery. Fortunately, recent leaks have given us a few clues! Here's a quick look at what's confirmed, what's rumored, and what we're still waiting to find out.

The most interesting leak? Kafka may be an Electric Anomaly Agent who works with Remielle! If that's true, she could bring a fresh twist to existing Anomaly teams. But whether she'll be a main DPS or a team-focused damage enabler is still anyone's guess.

ZZZ Kafka Release Date

Kafka is confirmed to appear in ZZZ Version 3.4, which is expected to begin around December 2, 2026. However, HoYoverse has not announced her exact arrival date or confirmed whether she will receive a limited banner.

Version 3.3, "Journey to the Sky," launches on October 21. If ZZZ continues its usual six-week update cycle, Version 3.4 should follow on December 2.

This creates two possible windows for Kafka:

  • December 2, 2026: Expected start of ZZZ 3.4 and a possible opening window for the crossover.
  • December 23, 2026: Expected Phase 2 start, assuming a standard 42-day update with two banner phases.

The second date is particularly interesting because it falls close to the expected HSR 4.8 release window. HoYoverse could coordinate both games' crossover activities around that time, although this remains a schedule-based prediction.

We also don't know whether Kafka and Robin will share the same release window, receive separate banners, or use a special collaboration system.

For the wider schedule, check our ZZZ banner schedule and the confirmed Version 3.3 banner.

Who Is Kafka in Honkai: Star Rail?

Kafka is one of the most recognizable members of the Stellaron Hunters in Honkai: Star Rail. She operates under Elio's direction and has a mysterious connection to the Trailblazer's past.

Unlike characters who rely on overwhelming physical strength, Kafka is known for her calm personality, precise movements, and ability to control situations without showing much emotion.

In HSR, Kafka is a 5-star Lightning character following the Path of Nihility. Her combat mechanics focus on applying and triggering Damage over Time (DoT), allowing her to deal additional damage without waiting for the usual DoT activation.

Her Skill, Ultimate, and follow-up attacks can interact with DoT effects already applied to enemies. This makes her particularly valuable in teams built around multiple sources of sustained damage.

That's also why her move to ZZZ is so interesting. Instead of relying on a turn-based combat system, Kafka could potentially use similar mechanics in real-time battles built around Attribute Anomaly, Shock, and Disorder.

ZZZ Kafka Character Design and Appearance

HoYoverse has already shown Kafka's official crossover artwork during the Version 3.3 Special Program. Her design retains the recognizable features from Honkai: Star Rail while adapting them to Zenless Zone Zero's visual style.

Kafka keeps her signature purple-red hair, sunglasses, and dark formal outfit. The combination of tailored clothing, elegant accessories, and a restrained color palette gives her a sophisticated appearance without losing her mysterious personality.

ZZZ Kafka Character Design and Appearance

The most exciting part will be seeing how her design translates into actual combat. Kafka already has a distinctive fighting style in HSR, combining a blade with firearms and controlled, deliberate movements.

Those weapons could fit naturally into ZZZ's faster action combat, especially if her attacks involve quick sword combinations, ranged shots, and Anomaly application.

However, Kafka's complete ZZZ combat model and attack animations have not been officially showcased. The current crossover reveal focuses on her appearance rather than gameplay.

ZZZ Kafka Attribute and Specialty Leaks

Will Kafka Be an Electric Anomaly Agent?

Current leaks suggest that Kafka may be an Electric Anomaly Agent in ZZZ 3.4. Recent reports also point to an Anomaly-focused kit, with potential synergy in Remielle's teams.

This would fit her original playstyle in Honkai: Star Rail, where she specializes in Lightning damage and triggering Damage over Time (DoT) effects. In ZZZ, that could translate into a combat style built around Shock and Disorder.

For now, Electric Anomaly remains a leak. We'll have to wait for HoYoverse to reveal her official Attribute and Specialty.

How Would Kafka's DoT Mechanics Work in ZZZ?

The biggest difference between HSR and ZZZ is how status effects deal damage.

In HSR, DoT effects typically deal damage during an enemy's turn, while Kafka can trigger additional instances of that damage through her abilities.

In ZZZ, the Electric Attribute Anomaly, Shock, works differently. Once an enemy becomes Shocked, subsequent attacks can trigger additional Electric damage. Applying another Attribute Anomaly can then trigger Disorder.

That creates several possible directions for Kafka's kit:

  • Rapid Shock Application: Kafka could build Electric Anomaly quickly through multi-hit attacks, allowing her to maintain pressure on enemies.
  • Additional Anomaly Triggers: Her abilities could potentially deal extra damage based on existing Anomaly effects, similar to her DoT-triggering role in HSR.
  • Disorder Synergy: Kafka might work alongside Agents of different Attributes, repeatedly triggering Anomaly interactions for additional damage.

These are possible ways to translate her original combat identity into ZZZ, not leaked skill descriptions.

ZZZ Kafka Kit Leaks

Kafka's full ZZZ kit hasn't surfaced yet, but her DoT-focused playstyle in HSR gives us some interesting possibilities. If she really is an Electric Anomaly Agent, here's how her signature abilities might translate into ZZZ's combat system.

Skill

Possible Mechanics

Basic Attack

Fast sword strikes and gunfire, potentially building Electric Anomaly through multi-hit combos.

Special & EX Special

Could trigger additional Shock damage or accelerate Anomaly Buildup.

Core Passive

May enhance Shock damage or introduce a mechanic that interacts with existing Anomaly effects.

Additional Ability

Could provide bonuses when paired with other Anomaly Agents, supporting Disorder-focused teams.

Chain Attack & Ultimate

Potential burst attacks combining her signature weapons with additional Anomaly damage.

These are gameplay predictions rather than confirmed kit leaks. The biggest thing I'm watching is Kafka's Core Passive. If she can trigger extra damage from existing Anomaly effects, she could bring a fresh playstyle to ZZZ's Anomaly teams.

ZZZ Kafka Team Leaks

Recent leaks suggest that Kafka could fit into Remielle's Anomaly core. The clearest team to explore is Kafka + Remielle + Velina, though Kafka's final kit will decide how well it works.

Kafka + Remielle + Velina: Triple Anomaly Team

Remielle and Velina already provide a strong foundation for triple-Anomaly teams. If Kafka brings reliable Electric Anomaly application, she could fill the third slot and add another Attribute for Disorder triggers.

Kafka vs. Phoenix: One leak suggests Phoenix may perform better in Remielle's team. Her current beta kit supports squad-wide Anomaly damage, while Kafka's mechanics are still unknown. For now, this is a team-fit comparison, not a confirmed damage ranking. Read more in our ZZZ 3.3 banner preview.

Kafka might also suit a two-Anomaly Disorder team, such as a theoretical Kafka + Vivian + Yuzuha lineup. That depends on whether her Core Passive favors quick Anomaly triggers or longer on-field rotations.

ZZZ Kafka Best Weapons and Drive Discs

Kafka's signature W-Engine has not been revealed, and there is no confirmed ZZZ equipment build for her yet.

If the Electric Anomaly leak turns out to be accurate, her initial build direction will likely depend on Anomaly Proficiency, Anomaly Mastery, and her personal damage scaling.

In ZZZ, Anomaly Proficiency affects Attribute Anomaly damage, while Anomaly Mastery helps increase Anomaly Buildup efficiency.

However, not every Anomaly Agent values these stats in the same way. Some rely heavily on their own damage, while others contribute more through team buffs or unique mechanics.

Kafka's final build could also change significantly if she introduces a new type of Anomaly interaction. For now, it's better to wait for her actual Core Passive and W-Engine effect before farming a specific Drive Disc set.

Will Kafka Be Playable or Free in ZZZ 3.4?

HoYoverse has confirmed Kafka's appearance in Version 3.4, but has not officially confirmed her as a playable Agent. Her banner, acquisition method, and rarity remain unannounced.

Some early leaks describe Kafka as an upcoming Anomaly character, which suggests she is being discussed as a potential playable unit rather than simply a story cameo.

However, the official crossover teaser does not yet show her Signal Search banner or explain how players will obtain her.

There are currently several possibilities:

  • Limited Signal Search: Kafka could receive a standard limited Agent banner during Version 3.4.
  • Special Collaboration Channel: The crossover might introduce a separate recruitment format rather than following the usual banner schedule.
  • Free Event Reward: Kafka could potentially be distributed through an event, although there is no official evidence supporting this yet.

For now, I would plan as though Kafka may require Polychrome until HoYoverse confirms otherwise. That avoids relying on an unannounced free-character reward.

Is Kafka Worth Saving for in ZZZ?

If you're a Kafka fan, start saving Polychrome! She's officially coming to ZZZ 3.4, and her rumored Electric Anomaly kit could bring something new to the current meta.

Already running Remielle and Velina? Kafka could be an interesting third slot. But if you're considering Phoenix in Version 3.3, I'd wait for Kafka's full kit before deciding which Agent better fits your team.

Final Thoughts

Kafka's arrival in ZZZ 3.4 is official, and the early leaks are already pointing toward an interesting direction. An Electric Anomaly Kafka would fit her original DoT-focused identity, while the reported compatibility with Remielle suggests she could have a place in the current Anomaly meta.

The main unanswered question is how her kit will distinguish itself from existing Anomaly Agents. Will Kafka become another dedicated DPS, or will she bring a new way to trigger Shock and Disorder damage? That's what I'll be watching when her gameplay details begin to surface.

ZZZ Kafka FAQ

When Will Kafka Be Released in ZZZ?

Kafka is expected to arrive during ZZZ Version 3.4 in December 2026. December 2 is the estimated update start, while December 23 is the expected second-half window if the usual six-week schedule continues. Her exact release and banner dates remain unconfirmed.

Is Kafka an Electric Anomaly Agent in ZZZ?

Current leaks point to Electric Anomaly. An early Tieba leak identified that combination, and a more recent report describes Kafka as Anomaly-focused. HoYoverse has not officially announced her Attribute or Specialty.

What Is Kafka's Leaked Kit?

The available leaks mainly concern her Anomaly role and potential team compatibility. No reliable complete ZZZ skill descriptions, damage multipliers, or Mindscape Cinema effects have been established yet.

Will Kafka Be Good With Remielle?

Possibly. A recent leak claims that Kafka can join Remielle's Anomaly team, though it also suggests Phoenix may perform better in that particular setup. Kafka's actual value will depend on her final mechanics and damage output.

Will Kafka Be Free in ZZZ 3.4?

There is no official confirmation that Kafka will be free. HoYoverse has not announced her acquisition method, so players should wait for the Version 3.4 banner details before assuming she will be an event reward.
