Shinku Background
Based on the information currently available, Shinku has a clear connection to CSU-2 and is also linked to Mint’s character storyline. Considering BAC’s involvement with abnormal incidents, urban order, and Esper operations, Version 1.2’s story is likely to shift the focus further inside BAC, especially toward action-oriented units such as CSU-2.
If this direction proves correct, Shinku is more likely to appear in the story as an executor, an investigation participant, or someone who helps drive a key event forward.
Shinku Character Design
Based on the character artwork that has already been revealed, Shinku’s design focus is very clear: black hair, red highlights, red eyes, horn-like head accessories, and a white top. Her overall vibe feels cold and dangerous, with a slight sense of otherness.
This visual style makes her feel like one of two types of characters: either a burst DPS character or a character with control abilities or special mechanics. Combined with her identity as a Cosmos Esper, I personally lean toward the idea that she may be a mechanics-based DPS character, or a core character in some kind of rotation-based system.

Best Team Comps for Shinku
When building a team around Shinku, don’t focus only on her own damage. It is even more important to see whether she, as a Cosmos character, can activate and support the team’s overall mechanics.
Shinku + Iroi
Iroi is an S-Class Anima character released alongside Version 1.2. Shinku needs extended field time to build up resources and unleash her burst damage, while Iroi’s ranged support or healing abilities can improve her survivability and help her complete her full damage rotation more consistently.
Character | Team Role | What They Bring |
|---|---|---|
![]() Shinku | Main DPS / Frontline Core | Shinku is responsible for sustained offense, building up resources, and dealing major burst damage after entering her enhanced state. |
![]() Iroi (Anima) | Support / Healer | Iroi can improve the team’s margin for error, help Shinku stay on the field longer, and provide team buffs or abnormal status support. |
? Flex Slot | Sub-DPS / Rotation Support | Based on the official mechanics, fill the team’s gaps with characters who can improve Blossom startup, status effect coverage, energy rotation, or Esper Cycle frequency. |
This pairing is currently better seen as a potential synergy. If Iroi ultimately focuses on survivability and support, she can help reduce the risks Shinku faces during extended field time. If Iroi also has mechanics related to Blossom, abnormal statuses, or Esper Cycle, the ceiling of this combo could be even higher.
Shinku + Lakshana Character + Anima Character
Shinku works well as a Cosmos trigger unit. Through sustained damage or mechanic-based triggers, she can provide the team’s reaction starting point, then let Lakshana's characters carry the Remora system. An Anima character can then be added based on team needs to further improve damage, survivability, or rotation efficiency.
Character | Team Role | What They Bring |
|---|---|---|
![]() Shinku (Cosmos) | Cycle Initiator Utility DPS | Shinku provides Cosmos trigger points while adding extra damage during the team rotation. |
? Lakshana Character | Remora Trigger Follow-up DPS | Works with Cosmos to trigger a Remora reaction chain, handling follow-up damage or mechanic conversion. |
? Anima Character | Follow-up Support Charge Extension | Choose the right flex option based on your team’s weaknesses, such as extra damage, survivability, healing, or rotation support. It can also be expanded into Charge-related playstyles. |
If you already have Hathor, Chaos, or other Lakshana characters, you can prioritize testing this route once Shinku is released.
Shinku + Nanally
Shinku and Nanally’s team setup mainly focuses on Cosmos activation, Esper Cycle damage, and follow-up attack synergy.
Character | Team Role | What They Bring |
|---|---|---|
![]() Shinku | Cosmos Trigger / Sub-DPS Mechanics TBC | Shinku can steadily provide Cosmos triggers, allowing her to serve as a sub-DPS who adds extra status effects and damage. She also helps the team activate Esper Cycle more often, creating more follow-up opportunities for Nanally. |
![]() Nanally | Anima Main DPS Follow-up Core | Nanally is a follow-up-focused Anima damage dealer. When the team deals Esper Cycle damage, she can trigger additional Anima attacks. |
The key to this team is letting Shinku trigger Cosmos consistently and keep the team cycling through Esper Cycle. With a high enough trigger rate, Nanally gains more follow-up chances, making the overall damage rotation much smoother.
Low-Cost Transition Team
If you do not have a complete limited team, there is no need to force one too early. You can first pair Shinku with existing core units such as Zero, Haniel, and Fadia, while prioritizing survival, buffs, and a stable Cycle rotation.
The above is only our prediction. After real test data becomes available, we can decide whether she is a system core or more of a fill-in Cosmos character.
Shinku vs Iroi: Who Should You Pull First in Version 1.2?
Before their full skills are revealed, their priority cannot be measured precisely. However, we can make an early judgment based on the following known conditions:
Choose Shinku If:
- Your account lacks a main Cosmos damage dealer
- You already have Anima or Lakshana characters and want to build a reaction-based team
Choose Iroi If:
- Your account already has stable damage dealers, but lacks survival and buff support
- Your current team has sustained problems with high-difficulty content
Their roles do not overlap, so pulling for both is a reasonable choice if your resources allow it. For the exact priority, we recommend waiting for the official livestream on June 27.
How to Prepare for Shinku in Advance
At this stage, the most worthwhile resources to save for Shinku are Annulith and Solid Dice.
Based on NTE’s gacha system, 160 Annulith equals 1 die, and the hard pity is 90 pulls. Therefore, if you want to pull for Shinku, you should prepare around 8,800–14,400 Annulith in advance.
If you need to top up NTE Riftcrystal or Annulith, GamsGo can help you save up to 30%.
Conclusion
Shinku is an S-Class Cosmos damage dealer in Version 1.2. If your Cosmos team is not yet complete, you are planning to build a new team, or you already have Anima, Lakshana, and other characters that can participate in reaction cycles, you can start saving resources for Shinku.
In terms of resource planning, we recommend reserving a slot for Shinku first, but do not treat her exclusive Arc or high awakenings as must-haves too early. After her skills are revealed, we can better determine whether she is a system core, a key team piece, or a character who still needs future teammates to raise her value.
GamsGo will continue to update this article as more information is released, and we will provide a complete team-building guide and material breakdown after the official data is announced. Please bookmark this page and check back anytime for the latest updates.
