Best Reverse: 1999 Team Comps by Archetype

Even with a fully built team, your damage might still fall short of expectations. Before changing your lineup, check whether your main DPS's Psychube is fully amplified or if your supports need different Psychubes to maximize team damage. Below, we'll break down the best setups and key details for each archetype.

Best Conduit Team and Psychubes

Conduit Team

The Conduit archetype now has its complete lineup: Everecho, Coppélia, The Twins, and Hedone. The Twins serve as the main DPS, Coppélia provides damage buffs and secondary damage, Everecho handles sustain and Energy generation, while Hedone strengthens the team's damage and Energy economy.

Recommended Psychubes: Everecho uses A Dream Beyond Light, Coppélia uses The Silent Anthem, The Twins equip both The Art of Atoms and The Dance of Science, and Hedone uses Faded Epitaphs.

Without The Twins: Replace them with Rhiannon and use Coppélia as the main DPS. The remaining characters keep their recommended Psychubes.

Without Coppélia: Rhiannon can also take her slot. In this lineup, switching Hedone's Psychube from Faded Epitaphs to The Silent Anthem provides better overall value.

Best Lingering Glow Team and Psychubes

Lingering Glow Team

The established Lingering Glow Team consists of Beryl, Isolde, Lorentz Butterfly, and Marsha. What makes this lineup unusual is that none of the four uses their own signature Psychube. Swapping Psychubes between teammates is essential to getting more value from the entire team.

Recommended Psychubes: Beryl uses Long Night Talk, Isolde uses The Fluttering Moment (Lorentz Butterfly's signature), Lorentz Butterfly uses Singleness of Heart (Marsha's signature), and Marsha uses Shadows in the Subconscious (Isolde's signature). If you haven't collected enough 6-star Psychubes, Beryl's 5-star Anecdote reward, Living in the Moment, is a solid temporary option.

Lingering Glow Team

Matilda Euphoria 2 Variant: Matilda's second Euphoria module opens up another Lingering Glow lineup: Beryl, Matilda, Flutterpage, and Marsha. This version requires a different Psychube setup: The Thousandfold Fate for Beryl, Shadows in the Subconscious for Matilda, Arrow of Verdict for Flutterpage, and Family Mentor for Marsha.

Marsha

Drake Upgrade: The biggest upgrade arrives with Drake in the second half of CN Version 4.0. Replacing Isolde with Drake provides much stronger Lingering Glow generation and increases the team's Lingering Glow cap by an additional 250 points during Rebellious Act.

It's a major boost to the archetype's damage potential. Lingering Glow is back in business.

Best Dynamo Teams and Psychubes

Dynamo Teams

Brume and Corvus are currently the recommended DPS options for Dynamo teams. Lucy remains viable after her Euphoria upgrade, but her damage still falls short of expectations. Brume offers more consistent performance, while Corvus excels in prolonged single-target boss fights.

Team Positioning: Always place Enigma in slot 1, followed by your main DPS in slot 2, Charon in slot 3, and Rhiannon in slot 4. Enigma should equip The Third Commitment to activate its Array bonus when deploying Pulsing Field.

Recommended Psychubes: Brume uses On the Hand of Time, while Lucy prefers her signature Steps Forward or Long Night Talk. Charon uses Buds Yet to Bloom, and Rhiannon uses The Soft Rain of Yesterday.

Best Corvus Variant: For higher damage, replace Charon with Flutterpage, equipped with Arrow of Verdict or Aurora After Winter. Corvus uses Outside the City, while Enigma can also switch to Buds Yet to Bloom. If Flutterpage is unavailable, keeping Charon in slot 3 is still a reliable option.

Version 4.1 Outlook: Ulrich is no longer a preferred choice in these lineups, as his current numbers struggle to keep up with newer supports. However, his upcoming Euphoria upgrade could bring him back into the Dynamo meta, with Lucy potentially benefiting the most from its Reality DMG enhancements.

Best Ultimate Teams and Psychubes

Ultimate Teams

With Narcissus's release and Moldir's Euphoria upgrade, Ritual teams have received a major boost. Igor, Recoleta, Noire, and Ms. Stranger can all serve as the main DPS, with each offering strong performance in the current meta. Most lineups share the same support core: Moldir with Family Mentor and Narcissus with Tides Held Within.

Recommended Lineups: Igor pairs with Lopera, while Recoleta and Ms. Stranger both prefer Rhiannon in the second slot. Noire works well with either Euphoria 6 or Hissabeth, and can also replace Moldir with Rhiannon. If you're using Euphoria 6, equip Mental Cage, Aleph's signature Psychube, for better team support.

Ms. Stranger Dynamo Hybrid: Ms. Stranger can also join Charon and Enigma to form a hybrid Dynamo team, combining the Dynamo core's buffs and card cycling with her powerful Ultimate-based burst damage.

Best Poison Team and Psychubes

My recommended lineup is Ramona, Tuesday, Willow, and Marsha.

Poison is one of Reverse: 1999's most unusual archetypes. It has repeatedly broken records in Mane's Bulletin, yet its optimal lineup and Psychube choices have changed several times. Some combinations may look unconventional, but they're designed to trigger the team's unique Poison mechanics.

Poison Team

Recommended Psychubes: Ramona uses Falling for a Sweet Phenomenon, the 5-star Psychube from 37's Anecdote. Tuesday uses Arrow of Verdict, Willow uses Offbeat Strides or Her Mournful Face, and Marsha uses Family Mentor.

Ezio Poison Variant: Ezio Auditore can replace Willow, using Drown Out the Hustle. This setup is especially useful in multi-wave stages or add-heavy fights where enemies are frequently defeated, allowing Ezio to benefit from kill-related effects and Poison spreading. It's the same type of environment that has historically favored Lucy.

Best Plant Impromptu Team and Psychubes

Plant Impromptu Team

Unlike some Euphoria teams that demand manual card management, the Plant Impromptu Team remains a reliable option for auto-battle. Its recommended lineup is Paper Heron, Rhiannon, Tooth Fairy, and Kiperina, combining strong Impromptu damage with consistent buffs and survivability.

Recommended Psychubes: Paper Heron uses Wayfarer of the Tao, Rhiannon uses The Soft Rain of Yesterday, Tooth Fairy uses Addio Coda, and Kiperina uses Aurora After Winter.

Without Rhiannon: An-an Lee is an excellent replacement, but make sure she has her second Euphoria module (E2) unlocked. This upgrade improves her Inspiration generation and makes her particularly effective in Plant Impromptu teams.

Best Euphoria Teams: Windsong and Liang Yue

Windsong Euphoria Team

Windsong Euphoria Team: Windsong's Euphoria upgrade makes her an exceptionally strong single-target DPS. Her recommended lineup is Windsong, Flutterpage, Euphoria 6, and J.

Recommended Psychubes: Flutterpage uses Aurora After Winter, 6 uses In Their Figures, and J uses Family Mentor. Windsong's best Psychube depends on battle length: Outside the City is better suited to longer fights, while On the Hand of Time offers stronger performance in shorter battles.

Flutterpage is essential to this lineup. If you don't have 6, replace him with Rhiannon. Marsha can fill J's slot.

Liang Yue Euphoria Team

Liang Yue Euphoria Team: Liang Yue's Euphoria upgrade pushes her performance beyond Windsong's, while offering much greater team flexibility. Her recommended lineup is Liang Yue, Flutterpage, Rhiannon, and Enigma.

Recommended Psychubes: Liang Yue uses Ready on Call, Flutterpage uses Aurora After Winter, Rhiannon uses The Soft Rain of Yesterday, and Enigma uses The Third Commitment.

Without Rhiannon, you can use Cheng Heguang or Lopera. If Enigma is unavailable, Marsha or J can take the fourth slot. High-Portray Liang Yue also works particularly well in hybrid Lingering Glow teams.

The main drawback is manual card management. Liang Yue accumulates different marks based on the types of incantations played, and auto-battle often handles this poorly. To reach her full damage potential, manual play is strongly recommended.

Upcoming Pursuit and Movement Archetypes

Pursuit Team: Huntsworn Lilya, 37 & Perchta

Huntsworn Lilya

Rhiannon
J
Huntsworn Lilya
37
Rhiannon
Perchta

Huntsworn Lilya (SP) and Euphoria 37 are already the core of the Pursuit archetype, while Rhiannon and J remain transitional teammates. Even without a complete lineup, early CN 4.0 comparisons suggest that Pursuit teams can reach over 90% of the overall performance of similarly invested Conduit teams.

Perchta, arriving in CN 4.1, is a major step toward completing the team. Her Seven Friends mechanic absorbs damage for allies, while her kit provides healing, a free first action each round, overflow Moxie storage, and improved Pursuit Point efficiency. She is expected to take over the survival slot, with Rhiannon potentially receiving a more specialized replacement later.

One important distinction: Pursuit QTEs do not count as regular extra actions, so they cannot reliably trigger Flutterpage's extra-action mechanics. This makes her a poor fit despite her strength in conventional follow-up teams.

With dedicated supports gradually arriving, Pursuit has considerable room to grow beyond its already impressive CN 4.0 performance.

Movement Team: Centurion, Shamane & Evelyn

Centurion
Shamane
Evelyn

Centurion's CN 4.0 Euphoria and Shamane's CN 4.1 Euphoria II have begun laying the groundwork for a new Movement (Shift) archetype. Their abilities reposition characters to collect Threads, generating Thread Points that can fuel Ultimates, buffs, and additional damage.

Evelyn, a Beast-afflatus character expected in the second half of CN 4.1, could become the team's missing damage core. Her exact role remains unconfirmed, but the mechanics introduced through Centurion and Shamane suggest that positioning will be central to this emerging archetype.

Conclusion

The current Reverse: 1999 meta features several powerful archetypes, including Conduit, Dynamo, Ultimate, Lingering Glow, and Euphoria Follow-Up teams. Looking ahead, the emerging Pursuit archetype is especially promising, with more dedicated supports expected to raise its ceiling even further.

Rhiannon is one of the strongest and most versatile supports right now, but many top teams may eventually receive more specialized teammates. If you missed her banner, there's no need to worry.

Reverse: 1999 FAQ

Which Euphoria upgrades should you prioritize in Reverse: 1999?

Prioritize upgrades that complete your existing team. Liang Yue and Windsong gain major damage improvements, while Euphoria 37 is particularly valuable for Huntsworn Lilya's Pursuit team. An-an Lee's second module is also worth considering for Plant Impromptu teams.

Is Rhiannon still worth pulling for?

Yes. Rhiannon remains one of the most versatile supports across multiple archetypes. However, more specialized teammates may eventually replace her in certain teams, so missing her is not a major setback.

Should you pull Drake if you already have Isolde?

Drake is a strong upgrade for dedicated Lingering Glow teams, offering better resource generation and an additional 250 Lingering Glow capacity during Rebellious Act. However, Isolde remains viable, so Drake is not essential if your current team already performs well.

Is Huntsworn Lilya's Pursuit Team worth building now?

Yes, if you're planning around future CN content. Huntsworn Lilya and Euphoria 37 already form a powerful core, even before the team is complete. Perchta and future dedicated supports are expected to improve its consistency further.

Are signature Psychubes always the best choice for your team?

No. Team-wide optimization can outperform equipping every character with their signature Psychube. Lingering Glow teams are a clear example, where swapping Psychubes between Isolde, Lorentz Butterfly, and Marsha can produce better results.
