AFK Journey Celestial & Hypogean Tier List

Celestials and Hypogeans get their own list because they cost far more than four-faction heroes. They don't appear on the standard banners, they can't use Acorns to ascend, and one wrong pull can set your season back. So this ranks pulling and building priority, not just raw strength.

Get Rolan to Supreme+ first, then Mythic+ Elijah & Lailah or Supreme+ Contess. Usually the Twins first. Order: Rolan → Elijah & Lailah → Contess.

A Celestial or Hypogean tank or support is unlikely next season, so pulling Elijah & Lailah and Contess without stockpiling is fine. Stockpiling is still safer if you can.

For PvP or all-round accounts, put Paragon tiers into T0 and T1 heroes. Utility heroes can afford a slightly worse return. Don't spread crowns across situational damage dealers.

AFK Journey Dream Realm (Endless) Tier List

Once a boss reaches extreme durability, damage that scales off ATK and skill multipliers gets diluted by defense and the sheer length of the fight. HP Loss, True Damage, percentage-based effects and long-uptime debuffs all gain a lot of value here, which is why several heroes sit in completely different places on this list than they do on the regular Dream Realm one.

AFK Journey Tier Explanation

Below you'll find what each tier means, which modes are rated, and how heroes are grouped.

Tier	Meaning
T0	Defines the mode. The best-in-slot answer, and strong enough to change how teams are built around them.
T1	Core meta. Once you have them, they go straight into your top team.
T2	Strong and widely used, but replaceable if you have the right alternative.
T3	Solid, or clearly built for one type of team. Very strong inside the right composition.
T4	Specialised. Limited to certain bosses, maps or formations, or pushed down by newer heroes.
T5	Weak in the current patch. Worth using only for a niche solution or as a low-investment stopgap.
T6	Out of the competitive picture for this mode. Includes tutorial and special-purpose heroes.

AFK Journey Rating Standards by Game Mode

AFK Journey has a lot of different modes, and a hero who performs well in one of them can be a poor pick in another. That's why the heroes are split across four separate tier lists instead of being given one overall score.

Tier List	What It Covers
AFK Stages (Deficit)	Performance in the main progression. Stages are easy to pass while your power matches the enemy's, so this rating measures how well a hero holds up at a level and power deficit. Weighted most: opening crowd control, pulling enemies together, interrupts, invincibility and cheat-death effects, frontline stability, safe ranged damage, percentage and execute damage, and how easily the hero fits a faction core and a workable formation.
Dream Realm	Performance in the daily boss mode, where dealing more damage earns better rewards. Weighted most: single-target damage, damage taken and DEF debuffs, boss-specific amplification, sustained buffs, staying alive against single-target pressure, and how well the kit answers each boss's mechanics.
Dream Realm (Endless)	The final difficulty, unlocked after you clear every other difficulty of that boss. The boss can't be killed, so only total damage counts. Weighted most: HP Loss, True Damage, percentage-based damage, effects that keep growing without a cap, and long uptime on buffs and debuffs.
PvP	Performance in Arena and Supreme Arena. Honor Duel isn't included, because that mode gives you heroes instead of using your own roster. Weighted most: opening speed, energy control, landing hard CC first, invincibility, interfering with enemy positioning, reaching the backline, surviving burst, dispels, revives and cheat-death effects, and how the hero holds up against common counters.

Dream Realm and Endless are split for a reason. The season rotates several bosses with different mechanics, so the Dream Realm rating is an average of a hero's value across all of them rather than a ranking for one specific fight.

Endless needs its own list because boss defenses and durability at the top difficulties make ordinary stat-based damage lose value fast, while HP Loss and True Damage become far more important. That's why heroes like Aliceth, Mehira and Phraesto sit in very different places on the two lists.

One thing to keep in mind across all four: the deeper into a deficit you fight, the less any single hero's own strength matters. Team synergy, the faction bonus and how the formation is put together end up carrying more weight than the tier of any one name on this page.

AFK Journey Hero Classes and Factions

Two things decide whether a hero fits your team: the class, which sets their attack type and where they stand, and the faction, which decides how much stat bonus your formation gets. Both matter as much as raw strength.

The Six Classes	Factions
Tank Stands at the very front, soaks the opening damage and keeps enemies off everyone behind them. Warrior Melee fighters with real damage and enough bulk to hold a line. Often act as a second frontline. Mage Ranged magic damage, usually hitting several enemies at once and weakening them in the process. Marksman The highest ranged physical damage in the game, and the most fragile. They need something in front of them. Support Heals, shields, buffs and energy. They decide how long the rest of the team stays standing. Rogue Built to reach the enemy backline. They ignore the front row and go straight for carries and healers. Tank

AFK Journey 1.7.3 New Hero Guides

AFK Journey Version 1.7.3 went live on August 6, 2026, adding two S-Level heroes to the Crown of Ashes season. Rolan, the first king of the Lightbearer Empire, and Voracia, the Feastweaver of Savannah, both released alongside the update.

Neither hero runs on raw stats. Both build a resource over the course of a fight, so how long the battle lasts and who stands beside them matters more than usual.

AFK Journey Rolan Guide

Rolan looks like a small fox wandering the streets of Savannah until the story reveals who he really is. As a hero he never carries a fight himself. He keeps everyone else standing, and the whole team scales off a resource called Morale.

🔔 Build tip: Rolan's real power sits behind ascension. Radiant Reign unlocks at Mythic+ and Enhance Force at Supreme+. Below Mythic+ he's a competent healer, but the effect people are pulling him for isn't online yet.

AFK Journey Voracia Guide

Voracia is Savannah's most sought-after chef and one of the Adamant Syndicate's Seven Elders. Her kit treats the battlefield like a kitchen: she pulls enemies together, sears them, then finishes the biggest threat outright. All of it runs on Fervor.

🔔 Build tip: Pair Voracia with a hero who groups enemies for her, and Fervor comes online in the opening seconds instead of halfway through. Chef's Choice unlocks at Mythic+, and at EX Weapon +10 it devours a second target.

Final Thoughts

This AFK Journey tier list reflects where heroes stand in Version 1.7.3, but rankings are only a starting point. Formation, faction bonuses and Magic Charms decide more fights than raw tier placement does, and a well-built T2 hero in the right team will outperform a T0 you haven't invested in.

Who Should I Build First as a New Player in AFK Journey?

Fill the holes in your team before chasing the top of the list. A tank and a support come first, since a damage dealer with nothing in front of them dies early. Then pick a faction you already have three or four heroes in and build around it.

Why Are Heroes Rated Differently in Each AFK Journey Mode?

Each mode asks for something different. AFK Stages reward crowd control, Dream Realm rewards single-target damage, Endless favours HP Loss and True Damage, and PvP is decided in the opening seconds. A hero can be T0 in one column and T4 in another.

Are Celestials and Hypogeans Worth Pulling in AFK Journey?

Yes, but only if you commit to one at a time. They don't appear on the standard banners and can't be ascended with Acorns, so spreading resources leaves you with nobody finished. Build one to Mythic+ or Supreme+, then move on.

How Morale Works	The team starts every battle with 20% Morale, capped at 100%. +10% when an ally casts an Ultimate or defeats a non-summoned enemy, −10% when a non-summoned ally falls. Every 20% Morale gives all allies ATK equal to 10% + 1% of Rolan's initial ATK. At 60%, Clemency's Edge starts damaging and stunning enemies, and blessed allies gain 50 Haste. At 100%, Radiant Reign creates a ward where a clone recasts every ally Ultimate.

How Fervor Works	A skill gains Fervor permanently once it hits at least 3 enemies, or every surviving enemy. The Main Course pulls enemies within 2 tiles onto a plate, knocks them down for 4s, then damages and heals off them. With Fervor it gains 70 Penetration. Prime Cut slashes the densest cluster within 7 tiles. With Fervor it slashes a second time. Vino Inferno roasts an area for 5s. With Fervor the wine ignites at the end for a burst of extra damage. Once all three carry Fervor, Chef's Choice devours the enemy who has dealt the most damage, absorbing their stats and draining all their Energy.
