The HSR 4.8 × ZZZ 3.4 collab is now official. During the preview livestream, HoYoverse confirmed that Kafka and Robin will be part of the crossover. Their kits are now confirmed too: Robin is an Ether Defense Agent, while Kafka is an Electric Anomaly Agent. That gives us a much clearer picture of what to expect from ZZZ Version 3.4.

I’ve been following this crossover for a while, and it’s exciting to finally see the lineup locked in. Robin had already appeared in earlier leaks, but Kafka joining the collab is a major update. Now, let's take a closer look at both characters, their roles in ZZZ, and what the collaboration has in store.

If Robin does land on the collab banner and you also want to keep enough Polychrome for Sunbringer, your pull budget could get tight fast. You can top up ZZZ on GamsGo and save up to 25%, giving you more room to plan for both banners.

Note: This article has been updated with the latest information, including Robin's and Kafka's confirmed Attributes and Specialties and Robin's test-build kit and signature W-Engine. I'll continue updating this page as more ZZZ 3.4 × HSR collab details are revealed, so bookmark it to stay up to date.

ZZZ × HSR Collab: What Has Been Officially Confirmed

The ZZZ × HSR collaboration is now officially confirmed for both games. HoYoverse first announced the crossover for Winter 2026, then revealed that Ellen Joe and Astra Yao would join Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.8 during the HSR 4.6 preview livestream.

Now, the ZZZ 3.3 preview livestream has revealed the other half of the crossover. Kafka and Robin are officially confirmed to arrive in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.4. This puts an end to months of speculation about which HSR characters would make their way to New Eridu.

ZZZ × HSR

With all four crossover characters confirmed, the focus now shifts to the details. ZZZ 3.4 will feature Robin (Ether Defense) and Kafka (Electric Anomaly), while HSR 4.8 will bring Ellen Joe and Astra Yao to Star Rail. Banner arrangements are the next thing worth watching.

ZZZ × HSR Collab Release Date: Is Version 3.4 the Most Likely?

Right now, Version 3.4 is the cleanest fit for ZZZ’s side of the crossover. HoYoverse has confirmed that Ellen and Astra Yao will join Honkai: Star Rail in Version 4.8, while the exact 4.8 launch date has not been announced yet. Based on the current HSR schedule, the community is placing 4.8 in late December 2026.

ZZZ lines up with that window almost perfectly. Version 3.2 officially ran for 42 days, from September 9 to October 21. If that six-week cycle continues, Version 3.3 started on October 21 and Version 3.4 should begin on December 2. That would put the 3.4 Phase 2 banner on December 23, 2026.

That December 23 window is the part I’m watching. It lands right in the expected HSR 4.8 period and gives HoYoverse a very natural point to launch both sides of the collab close together. So unless ZZZ changes its current patch length, late December, around the start of Version 3.4 Phase 2, looks like the most likely ZZZ × HSR collab release window.

Possible ZZZ 3.4 Collab Start Date: December 23, 2026

For now, treat that date as a schedule-based prediction, not an official announcement. HoYoverse has confirmed Kafka and Robin for ZZZ 3.4, but it has not yet announced the ZZZ-side banner date.

ZZZ 3.4 Collab Characters: Kafka and Robin Confirmed

The wait is finally over. HoYoverse has officially confirmed Kafka and Robin as the two HSR crossover characters coming to Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.4.

Robin had been linked to the crossover in earlier leaks, but Kafka is the big addition to the lineup. Their roles are no longer a mystery either: Robin is an Ether Defense Agent built around shields and team buffs, while Kafka is an Electric Anomaly Agent. Here's what that means for your teams.

zzz hsr

ZZZ Robin: Ether Defense Kit, Team Buffs and Signature W-Engine

Robin is confirmed as an S-Rank Ether Defense Agent with Strike damage. In HSR, she follows the Path of Harmony and supports the entire team, and her ZZZ kit keeps that spirit: she shields the whole squad, raises team DEF and DMG, and does most of her work from off-field.

The details below come from the first test build. Skill names in quotes are test-build terms, so the final wording and numbers may change. As usual, I've summarized each skill in plain language instead of translating it line by line.

Basic Attack, Dodge and Assist Skills

Robin's Basic Attack is a simple 3-hit Ether combo, and her dodge kit is standard: a dash dodge, a dash attack, and a staff-swing Dodge Counter after an Extreme Dodge. You won't be keeping her on-field for long anyway.

Her Assist kit is where things get interesting. Besides the usual Quick Assist, Defensive Assist and Assist Follow-Up, she also has a Counter Assist that clashes with an enemy's control attack, cancels it, and deals Ether DMG, plus a follow-up that triggers right after. If another teammate lands a Counter Assist, Robin can fire a coordinated laser follow-up for big Ether DMG.

She also has a special Entry Skill. Once she has at least 100 "Entry Points," switching her in (or holding Basic Attack) spends them to launch a heavy energy strike. It counts as a Quick Assist and gives the whole team a "Guardian Shield" worth 4% of her max HP for 20s.

Special Attack: "Off-Field Guard" and Follow-Up Attacks

This is the core of Robin's kit. Her Special Attack is an exit skill: she leaps up, hits the area with Ether DMG (with 40% DMG reduction during the animation), then automatically triggers a Quick Assist and swaps out. Once off-field, she enters the "Off-Field Guard" state for 60s and shields the team for 2% of her max HP.

While Off-Field Guard is active, every squad member gains bonus DEF. If Robin's initial max HP is above 16,000, each extra 1,000 HP adds 80 DEF, up to a cap of 800 DEF. The buff even lingers for 15s after the state ends. The trade-off is that Robin can only be switched back in through Chain Attacks, her Entry Skill, or Counter Assists.

During Off-Field Guard, whenever your on-field Agent hits an enemy, Robin automatically joins in with a follow-up attack (once every 8s). Each one gives her 20 Entry Points and the team a shield worth 3% of her max HP. If she has at least 40 Energy, it upgrades into an enhanced laser follow-up that scales extra damage off 55% of her max HP and grants a bigger 6% shield.

Chain Attack and Ultimate

Her Chain Attack is a powerful energy laser. Her Ultimate is a song-guided energy blast that deals big Ether DMG and then converts 40% of every Agent's Guardian Shield into healing for that Agent. So when shields are stacked up, her Ultimate doubles as a team heal.

Core Skill and Additional Ability

Robin's Core Passive turns her shields into a damage buff. Many of her skills grant the team a Guardian Shield that scales off her max HP. Repeated shields stack up and extend the duration (up to 60s), capped at 8% of her initial max HP. While shielded, every squad member deals 25% more DMG.

Her follow-ups during Off-Field Guard build Entry Points (up to 120). At 100 or more, she can return through her Entry Skill, which gives her a "Buff Enhancement Point." The next time she enters Off-Field Guard, that point is spent to raise both the DEF buff and its cap by 25%. On top of that, every time the team triggers Maim, Robin recovers 15 Energy.

Her Additional Ability activates with an Armorer or Stun Agent on the team: she starts the battle with a Buff Enhancement Point already stocked (in one specific challenge mode, this can only happen once every 180s).

Is Robin Good in ZZZ? Quick Assessment

Robin looks like one of the best teammates Sunbringer could ask for. Sunbringer scales off DEF, and Robin hands out up to 800 flat DEF to the whole squad. Her Additional Ability also works with Armorers, and her Energy refunds come from Maim, the Armorer mechanic. If you're planning a Sunbringer team, check our latest Sunbringer news as well.

She's also valuable simply because DEF buffers are still rare in ZZZ. Most supports boost ATK, CRIT or DMG, so a DEF-focused buffer opens up new options for DEF-scaling Agents. And with team-wide shields that keep refreshing and a 25% DMG bonus while shielded, she takes a lot of pressure off your dodging, letting you focus on your rotation instead of every enemy swing.

Robin's Signature W-Engine Leak (Test Build v1)

Robin's signature W-Engine is currently known by its test ID 14166. It's an S-Rank Defense W-Engine with 713 Base ATK and HP 30% as its Advanced Stat, which fits her HP-scaling shields and DEF buff.

Robin's Signature W-Engine
  • Shield Buff: When the equipper applies a shield, the whole squad gains 10% DEF for 10s. Repeated triggers extend the duration, up to 25s. This effect doesn't stack across the squad.
  • Follow-Up Buff: When the equipper lands a follow-up attack, the whole squad deals 10% more DMG for 15s, stacking up to 2 times (20%). Repeated triggers refresh the duration. This effect doesn't stack across the squad.

Both effects are team-wide, and Robin triggers them naturally from off-field through her shields and follow-ups. It's a nice upgrade, but since her kit already does the heavy lifting, it doesn't look mandatory at this point.

Note: These values are from the first test build and may change before release. The W-Engine's official name hasn't been confirmed yet.

ZZZ Kafka: Electric Anomaly Agent

Kafka is confirmed as an Electric Anomaly Agent. That fits her HSR identity perfectly. In Star Rail, her kit revolves around applying Damage over Time and detonating it for extra damage, and ZZZ's Attribute Anomaly system is a natural home for that playstyle.

What makes her especially interesting is the leaked Vivian buff. If Vivian's rumored Potential Activation upgrade lands as expected, the two could have great chemistry together, and Kafka could slot into Electric Anomaly teams without leaning on Remielle's Anomaly setup. That's good news if you skipped Remielle, or just want a second Anomaly team for endgame content.

ZZZ 3.4 Leaks: Sunbringer, Kafka and Robin Schedule

So the next question is: how could the Version 3.4 banners actually be arranged? Based on the current collab window, character leaks, and story pacing, this is the lineup that makes the most sense to me right now.

ZZZ 3.4 Banner Leak: Sunbringer First, Collab Second?

My current guess is Sunbringer at the start of Version 3.4, followed by Kafka and Robin in Phase 2. That puts the HSR crossover right into the late-December window, while Sunbringer gets the regular ZZZ banner slot first. As a Void Hunter, Sunbringer may even receive a banner that runs for the entire version. For more on her expected release and 3-in-1 kit, see our Sunbringer guide.

That leaves Storyteller as the big question mark. With Sunbringer and two collab characters already competing for 3.4, it's hard to see where she would fit in this version.

Since HSR’s Fate collab already introduced a long-term Collaboration Warp with no scheduled end date, ZZZ’s crossover banners could follow a similar format instead of the usual three-week cycle. Recent leaks point in the same direction, but the banner format still needs official confirmation.

Conclusion

The ZZZ × HSR collab is now officially confirmed for both games. Robin (Ether Defense) and Kafka (Electric Anomaly) will join ZZZ Version 3.4, while Ellen Joe and Astra Yao are confirmed for HSR Version 4.8. We finally have the full crossover character lineup.

Robin already looks like a standout support thanks to her team-wide shields and rare DEF buff, especially for Sunbringer teams. Kafka gives Electric Anomaly players a new option that doesn't rely on Remielle. What we still don't have is the official banner schedule, so I'll keep updating this guide as more details arrive.

If you want to pull the collab characters without draining everything before Sunbringer arrives, it is worth planning your Polychrome early. You can top up ZZZ on GamsGo, giving yourself enough room to roll on the collab banners while still keeping a reserve ready for Sunbringer.

ZZZ 3.4 × HSR Collab FAQ

What Are Robin's Attribute and Specialty in ZZZ?

Robin is an S-Rank Ether Defense Agent with Strike damage. She scales off max HP, shields the whole team, and buffs squad DEF and DMG mostly from off-field.

Is Kafka an Electric Anomaly Agent in ZZZ?

Yes. Kafka is confirmed as Electric Anomaly. If Vivian's leaked buff goes live, the two could pair well without relying on Remielle's Anomaly setup.

Is Robin Good with Sunbringer?

Very likely. Sunbringer scales off DEF, and Robin gives the team up to 800 DEF. Her Additional Ability also works with Armorers, and she recovers Energy whenever the team triggers Maim.

When Does the ZZZ × HSR Collab Start?

The expected window is Version 3.4 Phase 2, around December 23, 2026. That date is based on the patch cycle, not an official announcement.

Should I Pull Robin or Save for Sunbringer?

If you plan to run Sunbringer, Robin is worth considering as her support. If you can only afford one, Sunbringer is the DPS, while Robin makes her stronger. Wait for the final banner schedule before deciding.

Is Robin's Signature W-Engine Worth It?

In the test build, it gives the team up to 10% DEF and 20% DMG, both triggered naturally by Robin's shields and follow-ups. It's a solid upgrade, but her kit already works well without it.
