Claret's Version 3.2 Phase 1 banner is now in its final days, and Roxy is up next. Even so, a lot of the conversation has already jumped ahead to Version 3.3. The beta has been live for testers for a while now, and one name keeps surfacing in the leaks.

That name is Phoenix Reffaella, the S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent from Krampus whom HoYoverse revealed earlier this month. The beta data explains why Anomaly players have been poring over her. Her kit lets the whole squad's Attribute Anomaly DMG land critical hits, which no Agent has offered on this scale before.

Below, we separate what HoYoverse has confirmed from what the beta shows. We then cover her kit, signature W-Engine, Mindscapes, materials, and how many pulls she'll cost. If the 3.2 banners left your Polychrome reserve thinner than you'd like, you can top up Zenless Zone Zero on GamsGo before 3.3 arrives.

Who Is Phoenix Reffaella?

Phoenix serves as a Judge of the Krampus Compliance Authority, the self-regulatory body that keeps TOPS in line. Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Promeia hold the same title. Her introduction line tells you most of what you need to know. She calls herself a judge "of sorts," then asks if she can sit down because standing around is tiring.

That sleepy attitude hides a scary résumé. Her Agent Record says nobody in Krampus except the boss can beat her. Even so, calling her something flashy like an "Unbeaten Legend" is enough to make her fall over from embarrassment.

Her Story So Far

Her name first came up at the climax of the Version 2.8 main story. She then appeared in the Season 3 teaser "Before the Wind Rises," sitting calmly among lava debris with flames rising behind her. Proxies finally met her in person during the Version 3.2 main story, which includes a short, genuinely funny scene with Billy and Cissia.

The detail everyone latched onto is an experimental report in her Agent Record. It describes a subject who is unable to die. When their vitals decline, the body draws on concentrated Ether reserves and enters a state the report calls "transcendence." For a character named Phoenix, that isn't subtle, and the beta turned it into an actual mechanic.

Design and Combat Style

Her design leans soft compared with the more imposing Krampus members. She has long light-colored hair, golden eyes, and a white dress with metal accents that carry a single recurring symbol.

Leaked beta footage shows her fighting with a pair of red-and-white blades that combine into a scissor-like weapon. Her moves chain together quickly, and a weapon throw shows up in several of her key attacks.

Phoenix's Leaked Kit (v3.3.4 Beta)

Beta notice: Everything in this section comes from Version 3.3.4 beta data, not from HoYoverse. Her skill text is still a rough translation. Even the latest build calls the same debuff both "Scorch" and "Searing Corrosion," so we use Scorch throughout and expect the final names to differ.

Her kit has two layers. The first is team-wide: Phoenix marks enemies whenever any squad member deals Attribute Anomaly DMG, and marked enemies can take critical hits from Anomaly damage. The second is her own Fire damage loop, built around a stored resource, a weapon-throw finisher, and an Ultimate that burns through her own HP.

At Lv. 60, she has 7,673 HP, 872 ATK, 612 DEF, and 118 Anomaly Proficiency. The number to watch is her 152 Anomaly Mastery. Her Core Passive only starts scaling above 155 initial Anomaly Mastery, so she sits just under the line until gear pushes her over.

Core Passive: Team-Wide Anomaly CRIT

This is the part that makes Phoenix more than another Fire unit. In the current beta, her Core Passive does the following:

  • Phoenix gains 85 Anomaly Proficiency.
  • Whenever any squad member deals Attribute Anomaly DMG, the enemy is inflicted with Scorch for 20s. Scorched enemies also take Fire DMG equal to 50% of her ATK every 8s.
  • Attribute Anomaly DMG against Scorched enemies can CRIT, with a base 30% CRIT Rate and 25% CRIT DMG.
  • Each point of initial Anomaly Mastery above 155 adds 0.7% CRIT Rate to that effect.
  • Fatal damage doesn't knock her out. Instead, she comes back with 50% HP the next time she switches in. The beta only lists a cooldown for this in Hollow Zero's Withered Domain, where it's once every 1,200s.

The v3.3.4 text now spells out the breakpoint: at 255 initial Anomaly Mastery, her Anomaly CRIT Rate hits its maximum. Anomaly Mastery stops being a nice-to-have and becomes the stat you gear around.

Her Additional Ability, Krampus Ace, activates when another squad member is an Anomaly Agent or from Krampus. It adds 15% CRIT DMG to Attribute Anomaly DMG against Scorched enemies.

Why This Is Different From Jane Doe

Anomaly CRIT isn't brand new. Jane Doe's Core Passive has let the team's Assault crit since she launched in Version 1.1. It's part of her base kit, not a Mindscape, despite what some 3.3 coverage says.

The difference is scope. Jane only covers Physical Assault on Gnawed enemies, while Phoenix covers every Attribute Anomaly her team triggers, whatever the element. That's why Anomaly mains are paying attention: a whole specialty that has always ignored CRIT stats suddenly gets a CRIT layer.

Skills Breakdown

Basic Attack. A 4-hit Fire combo whose 3rd and 4th hits count as Burning Attacks. Those hits build her stored resource, called Pyre in the beta text and capped at 120. At 90 Pyre, holding Basic spends it to hurl her weapon for heavy Fire DMG.

If the target already has any Attribute Anomaly, that throw triggers Abloom at a 464% multiplier, with +40% CRIT DMG when it crits. Her Dodge Counter, Special Attack, EX Special, and Chain Attack all chain back into the 3rd Basic hit, so nearly every action loops back into resource gain.

Special Attack. A backstep into a rising slash, with 40% damage reduction while she backs off. Timed against a red or yellow flash, it triggers a Perfect Block that negates the hit. Each Perfect Block also refunds 5 Pyre, up to once every 10s.

EX Special Attack. A spinning Fire attack that counts as a Burning Attack and opens a short enhanced window. The next EX in that window becomes an aerial weapon throw, which stores a charge for her heavier EX slash. Her Chain Attack also counts as a Burning Attack.

Ultimate. Phoenix dives in and spends all of her HP on an explosion, then hands the field to the next Agent through a Quick Assist. When she comes back in by swap, Quick Assist, or Defensive Assist, she recovers all the HP she spent plus 10% of her Max HP.

Her return also triggers a stronger Abloom at a 623% multiplier. Because that HP is spent rather than lost to an enemy hit, the Ultimate doesn't use up her death-save passive.

How Her Kit Changed During the Beta

If you've seen different numbers elsewhere, they're probably from an earlier build. Here's how her key values have moved:

MechanicEarlier BuildsCurrent (v3.3.4)
Core Passive AP bonus+40+85
Base Anomaly CRIT DMG15%25%
Anomaly Mastery threshold145155
Additional Ability+25% / +40% CRIT DMG with 2 / 3 Anomaly AgentsFlat +15% with one Anomaly or Krampus teammate
Self-reviveAfter a defeat, once every 300s, later 1,200sPrevents the defeat; cooldown listed only for Withered Domain (Hollow Zero)
Signature W-Engine AP+75+90

Most of these changes have gone her way. She no longer needs a triple-Anomaly squad for her full bonus, and her core numbers rose. The revive change has the biggest practical effect. Without a general cooldown, it can save her more than once in a single Shiyu Defense or Deadly Assault attempt, provided the wording holds at release.

Signature W-Engine: Nirvana's First Plume

Her signature W-Engine appears in v3.3.4 as Nirvana's First Plume, a name earlier builds shortened to Nirvana Plume. Every line on it feeds her Core Passive.

AttributeDetails
TypeAnomaly
Base ATK (Lv. 60)713
Advanced Stat30% Anomaly Mastery
Effect+90 Anomaly Proficiency. When any squad member's Attribute Anomaly DMG scores a CRIT, the wearer gains 40% Fire DMG for 20s. Repeated triggers refresh the duration.

The 30% Anomaly Mastery is the real prize, since it does more for her CRIT breakpoint than any other single piece of gear. The Fire DMG buff is close to always-on too, because her own passive is what makes those Anomaly CRITs happen.

Alternative W-Engines

If you'd rather skip the W-Engine Channel, the early build guides point to two options. Angel in the Shell, Aria's signature, is the premium pick. It brings Anomaly Proficiency and a passive that boosts Anomaly and Disorder damage. Weeping Gemini comes up as the more accessible choice.

Best Drive Discs and Stats (Beta Recommendations)

The beta already includes her in-game build guide. It pairs 4-piece Freedom Blues with either 2-piece Phaethon's Melody or Chaos Jazz. Freedom Blues lowers the target's Anomaly Buildup RES whenever her EX Special hits. Phaethon's Melody adds 8% Anomaly Mastery, while Chaos Jazz adds 30 Anomaly Proficiency.

For main stats, the guide lists Anomaly Proficiency on Disc 4, Fire DMG on Disc 5, and Anomaly Mastery on Disc 6. Anomaly Proficiency and ATK are the preferred substats.

CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG substats do nothing for her Anomaly CRIT, which scales entirely off Anomaly Mastery. Stacking them is an easy habit to carry over from other DPS builds. It's also why that Anomaly Mastery Disc 6 matters so much.

Best Phoenix Teams

The team most guides are pointing to is Phoenix + Remielle + Velina, a dedicated Anomaly core. Velina brings frequent Wind Anomaly buildup, and Remielle adds off-field Anomaly support. Phoenix turns all of that Anomaly damage into CRIT-capable damage while contributing her own Fire Anomaly and Abloom hits.

Outside that core, she slots into most Disorder teams you already own. What she wants from teammates is a different Attribute Anomaly to apply while Scorch is up. That gives her Abloom finishers and your Disorders something to hit.

Phoenix Mindscape Cinema: M1 to M6

None of her Mindscapes gate the team-wide Anomaly CRIT. Everything below builds on a kit that already works at M0.

Phoenix Mindscape Cinema

v3.3.4 Beta

M1 – M6

MindscapeEffect (Beta)
M1Enters battle with one stored charge for her heavier EX slash. Anomaly CRITs against Scorched enemies gain an extra 25% CRIT DMG. Burning Attacks also build her resource 15% faster.
M2Burn lasts 2s longer, and Phoenix deals 25% more DMG to Scorched enemies. Both numbers dropped in v3.3.4, down from 3s and 30%.
M3 / M5Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
M4Her Hold Basic and Ultimate Abloom trigger an extra Abloom at a fixed 600% multiplier.
M6She ignores 15% of the target's All-Attribute RES, and her first EX Special also stores a heavy-slash charge. Her Abloom ignores 40% of enemy DEF. v3.3.4 reworked this Mindscape completely.

M1 is the only Mindscape whose main bonus reaches the rest of the team. Its extra CRIT DMG applies to every Anomaly CRIT on a Scorched enemy, while M2, M4, and M6 mostly raise Phoenix's own damage.

Phoenix Materials: What to Pre-Farm

Her upgrade path follows the standard Fire Anomaly template. Here's the full list from the current beta data.

Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal ×32
Controller Certification Seal ×30
Specialized Burn Chip

Nirvana's First Plume

Anomaly Component ×4
Reinforced Anomaly Component ×32

Her Notorious Hunt and Expert Challenge materials come from new 3.3 enemies, so only those two can't be farmed yet. Burn Chips take the longest to collect.

They're shared with every Fire Agent, just as Certification Seals are shared with every Anomaly Agent. Leftovers from Burnice or other Anomaly builds all count toward Phoenix.

Phoenix Banner Date and Timeline

HoYoverse hasn't announced her banner dates yet, but the schedule isn't hard to read. Version 3.2's official notice sets it at 42 days, ending on October 21. Phoenix was also revealed ahead of Severian, which usually marks the Phase 1 headliner. That would put Severian's Phase 2 banner around November 11.

Both dates become official with the Version 3.3 Special Program, which hasn't been scheduled yet. For reference, the 3.2 program aired about 12 days before that version went live. Rerun leaks are split between Banyue and Cissia or Velina and Norma, and neither lineup is confirmed.

How Many Polychromes Do You Need for Phoenix?

Phoenix will run on an Exclusive Channel, so the usual rules apply. You get an S-Rank within 90 pulls, a 50/50 on the featured Agent, and a guarantee on your next S-Rank if you lose. The W-Engine Channel caps at 80 pulls with a 75% chance of the featured W-Engine.

GoalWorst-Case PullsPolychrome
Phoenix, already guaranteed9014,400
Phoenix from 50/5018028,800
+ Signature W-Engine+160+25,600

Each Encrypted Master Tape costs 160 Polychrome. Both pity and your guarantee carry over between banners of the same type, so your current pity counts toward her banner. If you're a few dozen pulls short, buying ZZZ Monochrome closes the gap fastest, since it converts 1:1 into Polychrome.

Phoenix vs. Severian

Version 3.3's two new S-Ranks barely overlap in what they do.

The timing is worth knowing about. Severian's Phase 2 slot sits right before Version 3.4, which is rumored to bring a Honkai: Star Rail collaboration. That means three pull targets could land within a few weeks of each other.

Final Thoughts

Phoenix arrives at an interesting point for Anomaly. Remielle and Velina have already given the specialty a strong Season 3 core. Phoenix is the first Agent built to raise the ceiling of that whole setup rather than simply slot into it.

Her team-wide Anomaly CRIT is the reason she matters. What to watch when the 3.3 Special Program airs is whether her revive and reworked Mindscapes survive in their current form.

FAQ

Is Phoenix Officially Confirmed for ZZZ 3.3?

Yes. HoYoverse published her Agent Record on September 12, 2026, which made her rarity, attribute, specialty, and faction official. Her skills and banner dates haven't been announced yet. Those will come with the Version 3.3 Special Program, so every kit detail on this page is still based on beta data.

Will Phoenix's Kit Change Again Before Release?

Likely. Her numbers have shifted in every beta build so far, and the Special Program will be the first time HoYoverse shows her kit officially. Until then, the values here are a snapshot of the current build, not final numbers. The one constant through every version has been the team-wide Anomaly CRIT itself.

Is Phoenix Worth Pulling If I Don't Play Anomaly Teams?

Her value drops a lot outside Anomaly. Most of what she offers depends on teammates triggering Attribute Anomalies, which is what feeds her Scorch and Abloom effects. On an account built around Attack or Rupture, she works mostly as a solo Fire Anomaly unit, and her team-wide CRIT has little to multiply.

Does Phoenix Replace Burnice?

Not directly. Because they share an element, pairing them leaves Phoenix without a second Anomaly type to combine for Disorder and Abloom. Burnice keeps her own role in Fire teams, while Phoenix gets more out of partners who apply Ice, Electric, Ether, or Wind Anomalies alongside her Fire.

Should I Keep Pulling in 3.2 or Save for Phoenix?

It comes down to which team matters more to you. Claret's banner closes on September 30, and Roxy's Phase 2 banner runs until October 20, one day before Phoenix's expected debut. Claret brought the new Armorer specialty and Roxy is a Wind Stun Agent, so each of the three fills a different gap in a roster.
