She debuts on the Ad Astra Nova banner on July 14, 2026 (NA) / July 15 (EU & Asia) and stays available the entire patch through August 25. For her character story and full profile, please see our Himeko • Nova kit preview.
Whether you're locked in to pull her or still weighing her against the Fate collab units, this guide covers everything from the 4.4: full kit breakdown, best Light Cones and Relics, team comps, Eidolon priority, and a pre-farm checklist so you're ready on day one.

A Star That Lights the Night (Brilliant Fixation)
Release
July 14, 2026 (NA) / July 15 (EU & Asia)
Himeko • Nova is an ATK-scaling Fire Erudition DPS built around one idea: turn the entire team's actions into her damage. The instant she enters battle, her Talent deploys the Starblazer Visioscape Territory, summons the Starblazer mech, and gives every ally an Assist Skill button.
When an ally presses it, the game treats it as Himeko • Nova using a Skill, so she stacks offensive buffs while your other characters simply play normally.
That is what sets her apart from every other Erudition unit — she doesn't just hog the turn order to nuke, she changes how your whole team acts. Pairing her with a Trailblaze Companion flips her into one of two Companion Protocols, letting you tune her for single-target or wave content on the fly.
Where she lands next to the rest of the roster is covered in our Honkai Star Rail tier list, which we'll update once she's live.
Himeko • Nova Strengths & Weaknesses
✅ Strengths
⚠️ Weaknesses
Self-sufficient AoE Fire damage that also buffs the whole team through Navigator's Semaphore and Companion Protocols.
Weak at E0S0 for a flagship. Much of her power is loaded onto her Eidolons and signature Light Cone.
Assist Skill can break Toughness on any Weakness Type, so she's never hard-walled by enemy elements.
Needs at least one Trailblaze Companion to trigger a Companion Protocol, limiting team flexibility.
Two combat modes — Verdict for single-target, Decimation for waves — cover almost all endgame content.
Optimized rotation has a real skill floor; mismanaging Assist Skill uses and Source Energy costs damage.
Runs in fully free-to-play teams, making her very newcomer-friendly for clearing normal content.
Her signature Light Cone does a lot of heavy lifting — F2P builds feel a clear step down.
Should You Pull for Himeko • Nova?
Straight talk for the strength-focused crowd first. Himeko • Nova is designed as an army of one, but her power is spread thin at base. You will not gather a full team of four brand-new characters at launch — realistically you'll get one dedicated support and a few side pieces along for the ride.
That's exactly why her copies and signature matter so much. Her mechanics live on E1, E2, and E6, which means E0S0 is genuinely underwhelming for a flagship carry, and E2S1 (three copies for E2 plus her signature Light Cone) is the real strength baseline, not a luxury.
On investment order: if you already have her signature, go E1 → E2 next, because her mechanics scale harder than raw stats. If you have no signature, lock E0S1 first, since her stats lean heavily on that Light Cone.
The ideal all-round target is E2S1. Pure fans, of course, can ignore all the math and pull for love — E0S0 still clears normal content fine.
Pull if:
✅
You want a modern Fire Erudition carry and can afford at least E0S1, ideally working toward E2S1.
✅
You love Himeko and want her brand-new Starblazer playstyle — this is a total departure from the original Himeko.
✅
You're a newer player who needs a flexible DPS; she works in cheap teams and breaks any Weakness Type.
✅
You enjoy rotation-driven carries where managing Assist Skills and Source Energy changes your output.
Skip if:
❌
Your budget is under four 5-star pulls and you only care about strength — her E0S0 form is not a power pick.
❌
You already own a strong Erudition carry and don't need another AoE damage dealer.
❌
You're saving for the Fate/stay night units arriving July 24 — compare the Rin Tohsaka build and Gilgamesh build guide first (Gilgamesh can be claimed free).

Himeko • Nova Kit Breakdown
Her kit revolves around one resource loop: Assist Skills feed her buffs, and her Ultimate converts Source Energy into a massive AoE payoff. Understand these three systems before anything else.
System
How It Works
Why It Matters
🤝 Assist Skill
Every ally gets an Assist Skill button. Using it counts as Himeko • Nova using a Skill and fires the Starblazer for AoE Fire damage.
The trigger for her RES PEN, CRIT DMG, and both Companion Protocols. The whole kit routes through it.
💥 Source Energy
Built during her Ultimate by the Hyperluminal Particle Beam, then spent by the Orbital Annihilation Pulse for bonus hits.
Determines how hard her Ultimate's finisher hits. More Source Energy = more Orbital Pulse damage.
🔀 Companion Protocol
A Trailblaze Companion's Assist Skill flips her into Verdict or Decimation. Each has its own free-Assist-Skill trigger.
Lets you retune her for single-target vs multi-target every fight. This is why a Companion is mandatory.
⚔️ Basic ATK: Enkindle the First Lodestar
Deals Fire DMG equal to 140% of ATK (beta) to a single enemy. Filler only — you should almost never use it, since her value comes entirely from Assist Skills, Starblazer attacks, and her Ultimate.
🗡️ Skill: Uprise the Vanward Cresset
Immediately restores all uses of the Assist Skill and grants Himeko • Nova Navigator's Semaphore for 3 turns — a team-wide buff that increases the damage dealt by all allies (datamined around +25%, beta). While it's active she also regains 1 Assist Skill use at the start of every turn. This is the button that keeps her Assist Skill loop from ever drying up.
💥 Assist Skill: Trailblaze, By Your Side
The heart of her kit. When an ally presses it, the Starblazer deals AoE Fire DMG plus extra random-target hits (datamined ~200% AoE + 3×30%, beta). When Himeko • Nova herself uses it, the numbers scale up (~250% AoE + 4×39%). If the user is a Trailblaze Companion, she additionally enters a Companion Protocol.
🌀 Ultimate: We, Too, Stride the Stars
She takes direct control of the Starblazer. It fires the Hyperluminal Particle Beam to build Source Energy, then discharges the Orbital Annihilation Pulse and a Final Hit for a big AoE payoff. Her Ultimate costs 150 Energy (beta).
Hyperluminal Particle Beam: hits all enemies for Fire DMG (~40% ATK per hit, beta) and grants 1 Source Energy each time, up to a cap.
Orbital Annihilation Pulse: consumes Source Energy to deal Fire DMG to all enemies, with each extra point spent adding another instance to a random enemy. The more Source Energy banked, the harder it lands.
🧬 Talent: Of Fire and Far Faring
Deploys the Starblazer Visioscape Territory and grants every ally 1 Assist Skill use. Each ally Assist Skill counts as Himeko • Nova using a Skill, raising her All-Type RES PEN (~+25%, beta) and CRIT DMG (~+100%, beta), and letting her chip enemy Toughness on any Weakness Type. Allies who use it also regenerate Energy.
🔀 Companion Protocols: Verdict & Decimation
Protocol
Effect (beta)
Best For
Verdict
Raises her overall damage and adds a large Ultimate DMG multiplier (~+125% Ult DMG). After teammates use their Ultimates enough times, she fires a free Assist Skill.
Single-target & boss fights
Decimation
Grants all allies CRIT DMG and boosts Skill CRIT DMG, and builds Charge whenever an ally hits an enemy. At full Charge she fires a free Assist Skill.
Multi-target & wave content
Simple rule: single boss, run Verdict; a screen full of enemies, run Decimation. The state is decided by which Trailblaze Companion presses the Assist Skill.
🎭 Technique: Starcharter Cruise
Increases max Technique Points and lets her pilot the Starblazer outside of battle. Using it enters a "Cruise" state, opens each wave with a free Skill, and instantly defeats normal enemies she hits without even entering combat — great for overworld and pre-fight setup.
🔑 Key Traces
Bonus Ability
Effect (beta)
Whither, the Last and First Men?
Her Assist Skill no longer consumes uses. If her Assist Skill uses are full at the start of the turn, she regenerates Energy (~5, beta). This is what makes her loop self-sustaining.
Hark! The Express's Pulse Roars
When a Trailblaze Companion uses an Assist Skill, that ally immediately gains 1 extra turn to use their Ultimate — a huge tempo and Companion Protocol enabler.
The Silver Rail, Hushed in Antiquity
Using her Ultimate immediately grants Source Energy, and if Source Energy is high enough, the Orbital Annihilation Pulse's single-target multiplier increases (~+30%, beta).
Best Light Cones for Himeko • Nova
Signature: A Star That Lights the Night (5-Star Limited)
A Star That Lights the Night
HP 846 · ATK 635 · DEF 529
S1 Effect (beta)
Ignores 32% of the target's DEF. Using an Assist Skill regenerates 6 Energy and grants a stack of Sail (up to 3). Each Sail stack increases Assist Skill DMG by 20%; at 3 stacks, each stack also increases Ultimate DMG by 20%. It hits every part of her kit at once, which is why it's her clear best-in-slot.
Alternative Light Cones
Into the Unreachable Veil (5★)
★★★★☆ Best premium alternative if you own it. Grants CRIT Rate and a big Skill/Ultimate DMG boost after her Ultimate — and since her Assist Skill counts as Skill DMG, she uses every part of it.
Night on the Milky Way (5★)
★★★★☆ Excellent in wave content like Pure Fiction, where she keeps ATK stacks up and frequently breaks Toughness. Falls off against one or two targets.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day (4★) Nameless Honor
★★★☆☆ Her high max Energy lets this free cone give a reliable, unconditional DMG bonus. The best budget pick, with Geniuses' Repose as an early 4-star stopgap for ATK and CRIT DMG.

Rating & Notes
As Navigator Isee Sees It (4-PC)
★★★★★ Best-in-slot. 2-PC: ATK +12%. 4-PC: on entering combat or using a Skill, Skill and Ultimate DMG +18%, stacking up to 3 times. Since her Assist Skill counts as a Skill, she keeps the stacks up effortlessly, and both bonuses hit her main damage sources.
Wavestrider Captain (4-PC)
★★★★☆ Strong alternative. CRIT DMG plus a big pre-Ultimate ATK spike when teammates keep targeting her (Sunday, Sparkle, Remembrance Trailblazer). More team-dependent.
Scholar Lost in Erudition (4-PC)
★★★☆☆ Placeholder. CRIT Rate and Skill/Ultimate DMG if you already have well-rolled pieces while farming her BiS set.

Evaluation
Fallen Star Anchorage
★★★★★ Default best. CRIT Rate +8%, plus a chunk of CRIT DMG when she and one ally are both Trailblaze Companions — a condition her teams always meet.
Inert Salsotto
★★★★☆ Safe backup. CRIT Rate +8%, and once you're past 50% CRIT Rate, Ultimate and follow-up DMG increase — easy to satisfy on her.
Main Stat & Sub-Stat Guide
Slot
Icon
Main Stat & Notes
Body
CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG. CRIT Rate is usually harder to cap since she gains so much CRIT DMG from her Talent, ornament and Decimation.
Feet
ATK%. Default pick. Take SPD boots only if chasing a breakpoint with a turn advancer like Sunday.
Sphere
Fire DMG > ATK%. Take the elemental bonus whenever your substats are good.
Rope
ATK%. Energy Regen Rope is only worth it in teams that flood her with external ATK.
Sub-stat priority: CRIT Rate ≈ CRIT DMG > ATK% ≈ SPD. Rough targets (beta): 3,000+ ATK, close to 100% CRIT Rate in combat, 120%+ CRIT DMG before combat, at base SPD (or 135 SPD with a turn advancer). Count teammate buffs before you over-invest in CRIT Rate.
Best Himeko • Nova Team Comps
The one hard rule: build around at least one Trailblaze Companion so you can trigger a Companion Protocol. For broader line-ups, see our best Honkai Star Rail teams hub.
Team 1: Verdict Comp (Recommended)
Position
Character
Role & Function
Main DPS
Himeko • Nova
Carry. Runs Verdict for maximum Ultimate damage against a single target.
Support
Sunday
Advances her turn and provides CRIT buffs, tightening her Assist Skill reset windows.
Deals his own damage while amping the team. Takes the field while Himeko • Nova sets up.
Support
Sunday
Advances turns for both carries and doubles as the Trailblaze Companion for Verdict.
Sustain
Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
Sustain + ATK support. Note: this is beta theorycrafting — verify once she's live.
💡 Important: at least one Trailblaze Companion is mandatory in every serious Himeko • Nova team — without one she can't enter Verdict or Decimation, and loses her free Assist Skill triggers. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is ideal since he sustains and enables Verdict in the same slot.
Himeko • Nova Eidolons Breakdown
Her power sits on E1, E2, and E6. E3 and E5 are level-up stepping stones, and E4 is a minor team utility. Values are beta.
Eidolon
Effect
Value
E1
More free Assist Skill triggers, lower Verdict/Decimation activation requirements, and an extra DMG instance on her Assist Skill.
★★★★★ One of the best E1s in the game — a huge damage jump.
E2
Ultimate and Assist Skill deal 130% of original DMG, extra Assist Skill uses, and non-Companions can use the Assist Skill too.
★★★★★ A ~30% raw boost plus big team flexibility.
E3
Ultimate Lv. +2, Basic ATK Lv. +1.
★★☆☆☆ Level-up stepping stone.
E4
Extends her Assist Skill's All-Type RES PEN buff to all allies, and boosts her own RES PEN further.
★★☆☆☆ Minor, since she does most of the damage.
E5
Skill Lv. +2, Talent Lv. +2.
★★★☆☆ Decent — she benefits from both.
E6
+20% Fire RES PEN, max Source Energy up to 6, and a large Assist Skill DMG boost when allies use or trigger an Assist Skill, plus a bonus Orbital Pulse hit at high Source Energy.
★★★★★+ A massive upgrade — one of the best E6s in the game.
Recommended path: E0S1 (character + signature LC) → E1S1 → E2S1 → E6S1 if budget allows. E0S1 is the safest first stop for most players; if you already own a strong alternative like Into the Unreachable Veil, take E1 first instead.
Himeko • Nova Ascension and Trace Materials (Pre-Farm Guide)
Want her maxed on day one? Start now. Totals cover leveling to 80 plus maxing every Trace, based on beta data — a couple of counts (marked ~) may shift slightly at launch.
A few of Himeko • Nova's materials come from limited or gated sources, so knowing where they drop saves you from a launch-day scramble. Here's exactly where to get the three that trip most players up.
How to Get Radiant Prominence?
Radiant Prominence is Himeko • Nova's ascension boss material and comes from Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Ashes. Each run costs Trailblaze Power, so if you're pulling her, start clearing this weekly limit early — the 65 total is her single biggest ascension bottleneck.
How to Get Celestial Globe, Galaxy Framework & Cosmic Sandpit?
These three are Himeko • Nova's Trace materials and all drop from Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Erudition. They share the same node across tiers, and since her Traces plus signature Light Cone eat a huge volume (roughly 139 Cosmic Sandpit alone), this is where most of your Trailblaze Power should go in the weeks before release.
How to Get Vanquished Flow's Reticence?
Vanquished Flow's Reticence is her Trace weekly-boss material, earned by defeating the weekly boss in Echo of War: Rusted Crypt of the Iron Carcass. Weekly clears are capped, so 12 copies can take several weeks — this is the material to start banking first, well ahead of her banner.
Pre-Farm Priority Order
Weekly boss material (start now): Vanquished Flow's Reticence drops from Echo of War. With limited weekly clears, 12 copies take time — accumulate boss currency early.
Radiant Prominence: her ascension bottleneck from Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Ashes. Farm before launch.
Erudition Calyx materials: Cosmic Sandpit, Galaxy Framework and Celestial Globe are the biggest trace cost. Dedicate spare Trailblaze Power here.
Tracks of Destiny: 8 total, not farmable on demand — check your reserves from events and shops.
Credits & EXP: rarely the bottleneck, but redeem the latest Honkai Star Rail codes for free credits and materials before you start.
Conclusion
Himeko • Nova is a genuinely fresh take on Erudition — an AoE Fire carry who folds your whole team into her damage through Starblazer, Assist Skills, and Companion Protocols. Just go in clear-eyed on her investment curve: her ceiling is enormous, but her floor at E0S0 is modest for a flagship. Pre-farm now, secure at least E0S1 for strength, and treat E2S1 as the goal.
Building out the rest of your 4.4 roster? OurYao Guang Build Guideis a good next stop. And if you're planning to pull, Top up Honkai Star Rail at GamsGo for up to 30% off Oneiric Shards to get your account banner-ready.
She debuts in Version 4.4 on July 14, 2026 (NA, UTC-5) and July 15 for EU and Asia, on the Ad Astra Nova banner. She stays available for the entire patch through August 25, 2026.
Is Himeko • Nova good at E0S0?
She works, but she's on the weak side for a flagship at E0S0. Her power sits on her Eidolons and signature Light Cone, so if you care about strength, aim for E0S1 at minimum and E2S1 as the real target.
Is Himeko • Nova free-to-play friendly?
Yes, for clearing normal content. She runs in fully free teams with the Remembrance Trailblazer, Sparkle or Asta, and Gallagher or Natasha, and her weakness-agnostic Toughness break keeps her flexible against any enemy.
Should I pull Himeko • Nova or save for the Fate collab?
She's on-banner the whole patch, and the Fate units arrive July 24. If she's your priority, pull early; otherwise use the ten-day gap to test her first. Gilgamesh can be claimed for free during the event.
Which Companion Protocol should I use?
Verdict for single-target and boss fights, Decimation for multi-target and wave content. It's decided by which Trailblaze Companion presses the Assist Skill.
